Olga, that plant you shared at the beginning of the video has popped up in my garden and I absolutely love them. They are very whimsical. I believe they are an onion from the Allium family. Please let me know if I’m wrong or right. Nevertheless, I stake them because with rain and wind they tend to flop. I did not plant them but they are here. Anything else you can share about yours in your garden. Thanks and thanks for this valuable information for rose care throughout the USA!!!

Hi Olga. This is great information! I think Kansas and Missouri should probably be divided in half. I live in the northeast of Kansas, Kansas City. We are zone 5b/6a, depending on who you ask. I went ahead and took a screenshot of your Midwest/Plains schedule for my roses. Love your channel and beautiful roses!

Great, I am glad you can benefit from this information. I think there is a lot of confusion among beginner rose lovers about time of care. Be well!

Great information. I started again with the roses after I started following your channel. You have an amazing garden. What do you mean by spraying the roses? Thanks. 💐
@OlgaCarmody2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! By spraying I mean disease and bugs sprays, whichever folks are using.

Olga, I too am in CT. I'm in the center of the state. I just found your channel and am enjoying the info/help that you share. Thank you. One question regarding the Rose care charts. In the CT chart there is no information on what to do in September and October. What should I be doing now and what is the process needed to get the roses safely through the Winter?
@OlgaCarmody2 жыл бұрын
Hi Claudia, thank you for watching! I have recent video of 5 fall mistakes. I agree, there should be a video of what to do for roses in the fall. Stay tuned, I will create it.

Thank you great information! Question what fertilizer you use and what spray? Wondering if you could give me an ideal im in Florida.
@OlgaCarmody2 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I use natural Job fertilizer. As for the spray, Neem oil is my most often used. Just be careful with it in your hot zone. Sun can burn leaves. Read the instructions.

I'm in Central California and the summers here get between 100-115 in July through October. I find it very hard to get my roses to bloom in that heat.
@OlgaCarmody Жыл бұрын
Yes, roses don’t like extreme heat, they actually go into dormant state in the heat of summer. Here in CT we really don’t have killer heat, but people start reporting bleaching of leaves under strong sun.
@dclaet1135 Жыл бұрын
@@OlgaCarmody So, am I wasting my money fertilizing them during the hottest months? Does fertilizer stress a dormant plant or help support it? Thanks, Denise

You had Plant tone fertilizer on your previous video , is Rose tone better for roses ?
@OlgaCarmody3 жыл бұрын
Rose tone is specifically fitted for roses, so it would be better. My local store is out of almost all natural fertilizers for roses, so I bought Plant tone. As long as it is natural, that is fine by me. My soil will be healthy and will support my healthy rose.

Very helpful info. I do have a question, can die back be pruned at any time ? I have dieback in some of my roses, can I cut it in middle of blazing hot summer? 8A N.C.
@OlgaCarmody3 жыл бұрын
Pruning dead wood can be done in summer. Rose has a marvelous ability to form new shoots even from very old wood. Plus die back can sometimes continue moving down the healthy tissue. It usually stops at the bud. So prune the dead cane to the healthy tissue near the closest bud. Ideally the bud should be facing outward to direct the new shoot away from the bush, not into the bush (air circulation, better form). Hope it helps! plus, when you prune, do the cut just above the bud on an angle, this way rose won’t need to conserve energy and die back to the closest bud itself.
@veronicaalta94623 жыл бұрын
@@OlgaCarmody fantastic, I will do that . Thank You!!

When you mention spray do you mean bug spray?
@OlgaCarmody3 жыл бұрын
By spraying I mean pesticide (bug) or fungicide(disease) sprays. Whatever you need to do for your rose. I use Rose RX 3 in 1 if needed, it is a combo of both and fairly earth friendly. Happy gardening!
