What it could have been. I listened to several of her songs from a few years ago. Nothing astonishing. Then I heard this song. From the first line, the music, the singing and the lyric made me sit down and open myself to the feeling. Then - well, a wonderful powerful song went away. "Freedom". I've heard it all and Richie Havens mined that particular lode once and for all. Less repetitious gymnastics and more meat (more lyric like the early part) later makes this an absolutely stunning, evocative song that I could replay a dozen times.

Rose Cousins. Dont know if youll ever see this, but as a musician myself with beloved instruments of high value and sentimental value I can sympathise with the loss of your much beloved instruments in LA! I just recently bought a lower value telecaster to match my original '61 for fear of the same thing happening to me. Like you i also have a martin that i love very much. BUT....had it not been for the CBC article I just read about your loss I would not have discovered you and your music today. Im sure that I would have heard about you sooner or later as you are a wonderfully talented artist. I was also given some insite into what kind of a person you are when i read that you prayed for the people who stole your instruments. So perhaps many more will discover you through this ordeal and perhaps making it a blessing in disguise (even as hard as it is to go through this now). Please read Romans 8:28 when you get a chance.
