He was here in September. A mate of mine bumped into him in Wynyard Quarter and had a chat with him, and the next day he walked past me on the Westhaven boardwalk on the way to Buoy Cafe in Auckland. Mate said it was a great chat, wouldn't have minded having a yarn too but didn't want to disturb him. I'm 6'3" but he's a gangly fella in the flesh, taller than you might think haha.

Fun fact, after Power Rangers Wild Force was last filmed in the USA, the production team moved to New Zealand, then Ninja Storm was the first series to be filmed there, and the last one was Power Rangers Cosmic Fury. I've noticed that some of the cast from Power Rangers we're on that New Zealand soap opera called Shortland Street, and it is very popular in my home country in Ireland. I have a friend who was originally from New Zealand, but he lives here in Ireland. Also Rose McIver who also plays Summer Landsdown, Ranger Operator Series Yellow in Power Rangers RPM.

I’ve heard plenty of kiwis say mate but I’ve never heard anyone say g’day. I remember one time when I was a kid I was walking down a path and I walked ahead of my parents and this Australian came past and said “g’day mate” to me and I completely froze. I grew up in New Zealand and I had never heard anyone say that before and had no idea how to respond. I think I just stood completely still and stared at them like they had just said the most horrible thing imaginable lmao.

The New Zealand accent is just the Australian accent with the vowels around the wrong way so E becomes A, I becomes U and vice versa hence what Andy was describing is correct, its a more clipped accent than Australian drawl. The quickest example which she failed to convey is fish and chips which becomes fush and chups, thats what will make you sound Kiwi.
