Hey Guys! So today we got slightly super serial talking about Rose's OCD and the issues that come with it... but wait what are you talking about we are NEVER TOO serious come on we ALWAYS have a laugh and a joke at each others expense. Between 7:20 and 7:44 when Rose is talking about depression and suicide, Rosie is looking at her in such sadness and love and she just looks like she wants to save rose from those thoughts when she was younger. I think however sad that may be-that it is beautiful. It's real too. ❤️

I have been diagnosed with OCD and people always say to me "Well you're not a germophobe" or "you're not insanely organized". But that's not what OCD is at all. It's the obsessive thoughts followed by a compulsion in an effort to stop the thoughts. My obsessions tend to be medical. I get obsessive thoughts that I need to check my blood sugar/blood pressure to make sure I am okay. Crazy, right?

Before seeing the video and reading comments, I thought OCD was about being a germaphobe and all of that, but I was wrong. I started looking at my own life and the things I do and I'm a very worried and anxious person, and I'm constantly idk I guess double and triple checking everything? Like I guess I check things (multiple times) although I already know that it's okay. Something I do (that's pretty random but yeah) is when I screenshot things, I have to screenshot the same thing 2-3 times to make sure I actually got the screenshot even though I remember taking the first screenshot I still have to take like 2 more. idk if I should be concerned at all? I don't have anything I suffer from (that I know of..) besides like panic attacks but videos/comments like these get me questioning if I should get checked or something.

I suffer from OCD and people say " well it's not that bad is it" just because one time I didn't notice the mess that one if my friends made to my room. But it isn't exactly suffering its just one of those things that makes us slightly different from others but obviously not that different. Mine is like Rose's it's mess and being a neat freak basically. It's not strange. Xxxxx wish you the best xxxxx 😚😚😚😚😜😜😜😜

I love your #realtalk discussions, especially this one. Thank you Rose for sharing your story. And Rosie, thank you for discussing how OCD affects the OCD person's partner and how the partner can better help their OCD spouse. I don't think the partner's perspective is shared nearly as often so I especially appreciate hearing your side of the story.

Next time you guys should talk about *learning how to deal with living in the real world/surviving on your own* (like how Rosie moved out at an early age and after breaking up with her boyfriend she had to learn to stabilize herself and try and stand on her own two feet) or something like that. I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it

Thanks for showing that very private part of your life because although it is a problem that we all know or have heard few people talking about it so naturally . I admire Rose because she knew how to face the problem and learn from him. And I admire you because you do not conformasted to be there, you wanted to learn to understand those behaviors to help her . Greetings from Spain and sorry for my basic level of English hahaha

As someone who lives with OCD, when Rose was describing her symptoms it was like she was reading my mind, and explained OCD much better then I ever could. And it is so awesome that Rosie is so loving and accepting, because sometimes OCD can flare up real bad and to have someone like Rosie there is a great thing for Rose to have and that makes me really happy for both of them. Anything obsessive is out of balance. People that are obsessive in one or more areas are driven by anxiety. I remember having anxiety, and obsessive compulsions. I was trying to get relief by satisfying the compulsions, but like a tyrant task-master, it never ended. It may have something to do with a very strict, insecure or harsh upbringing, or even a very abusive one. For me, it was the latter, and by the age of 21, I had nervous ticks, social anxiety, OCD, out of control thoughts, mood swings and chronic depression. That year, I had a surprise encounter with Jesus (whom I had been crying out to for help) and in less than 3 minutes - every one of these symptoms were gone. I walked away from that encounter completely changed and different. I not only experienced love for the first time in my life, but I had a peace inside that remained with me. The change in me was so obvious, that it had a domino effect on my friends and family. Even my best friend's parents gave their lives to Jesus because of the change they witnessed in me. That was 39 years ago. Don't believe anyone who tells you that Jesus Christ isn't real or doesn't exist. And if anyone reading this "thinks" He isn't real or exists, you have yourself positioned to never know the power and love of your Creator that's more fulfilling than any love or relationship on this earth. And the naysayers can save their breath. Doctors can only put a bandage over the festering wounds and distresses of human beings with drugs and "therapy." Their is nothing more compelling than a life that's been affected and made whole by Jesus Christ.

***** I'm sorry you feel that way. I wouldn't waste my time on arrogance. In this case, I believe something I said ruffled your feathers. But that's okay. thoughts of suicide are not uncommon in those with higher awarenesess.something within us knows something isn't quite right with this world, often we make the mistake that WE are not quite right, as we're not quite like others, this often leads to a false sense of self and extreme depression, and the irony of this is that what we truly are and who we truly are, at the core is so magnificently beautiful, and intelligent, and truly indescribable through language.even if you could describe it through words I'm not sure that our brains could comprehend it.

i myself suffer from bipolar disorder ( i know it's something different and i don't wanna compare it at all ) but i know my family, especially my mom has a hard time dealing with it since she doesn't even try to understand, she constantly tries to tear me down, and makes fun of me. and the rest of my family thinks i'm completely okay again, since i've quit going to psychologists, so i'm actually alone in this fight. but i'm proud of rose, that she accepts herself for who she is and you're amazing rosie. thanks for making such beautiful/funny and inspiring videos like this one. love you both

mandy trum Hi Mandy, I too am bipolar have it for about 15 years now, the best advice i can give you is acceptance and education. Try not to worry too much about what your family thinks, but make sure you are supported from somewhere, join an organisation, online community, friends, see your doctors as often as you need to and take medication if you feel that helps (works wonders for me). Its a difficult illness but you can live a life that is just as good as everyone elses although it may takes more time than them to get to where you want to go and sometimes it will be very difficult but always its worth the battle. If you have any questions I am happy to answer them.

mandy trum You're not alone in this (I suffer from depression) and while my mum gets it somewhat my dad just doesn't, he seems to think I should just get a hold of myself and get on with my life. That said it can be really hard to understand someone else and their condition so don't take it personally. Also I don't want to tell you what to do but if possible I'd urge you to go back to therapy, I know it can be hard and sometimes you don't find the right person but it's really important you have someone to talk to no one should have to deal with mental illness alone

My mom and grandma both have Bipolar Disorder. As difficult as it is to live with my mom sometimes, I will always appreciate the effort she makes despite her illness. Nice to see your serious sides, especially Rose's (because it's less common)...I often think she uses humor as a defense mechanism to an extent. I love Rose's psychoanalytic side. I'm into psychology, so obviously I found this video interesting. I have suffered with depression and have had/have close relationships with people who have mental illnesses - so I also have deep empathy and personal emotions about mental illness, so this video was right up my alley. You guys were very entertaining and engaging as always, and it's always so apparent in your videos how perfect you are together. I have Aspergers which is on the autism spectrum. It comes with OCD. Like that's just something that's included in the package for most (if not all) autistic people. Sure autism comes with some difficulties and "problems" but I wouldn't swap my autism for anything. I love being unique and being able to appreciate certain things more because I have to work harder for them. 3 of my siblings are also on the autism spectrum. I don't see mental differences as a bad thing, I just see them as a unique way to look at life. The struggles we have lead to positive solutions and new ways to do things that make us feel great about ourselves. I feel like autistic people feel 2x the joy and satisfaction than most people after we've completed a difficult task, because we had likely had to spend more time and put forth more work to reach success. Sorry I know I'm rambling but I also wanted to say that I've been watching your (and rose's) videos for quite some time and I love you guys. Also I'm gay just thought I'd throw that out there lol. The average person would be shocked if they learned about what OCD really is. I have OCD and am messy and scatterbrained. Intrusive thoughts are the worst. Ah and obsessive thoughts. Oh and intrusive obsessive thoughts! 😉 There's no magic pill for OCD and while I do see a therapist for general depression I can't afford to see my OCD psychiatrist anymore so I basically just fight with it like hell everyday! OCD can completely destroy some people's lives. The best thing you can do if you know someone who has OCD is be there for them. And don't ask them, "Why are you doing that?" Or think they're nuts for checking the lock 20 times. I assure you they don't want to! 😏 Thanks for this video you two! Hugs from Texas! 💚💚💚

thisishornitism I don't know, if she is depressed she needs to have some therapy to help her cope with it better and also to find out the cause of the problem, like if it is OCD or is it hormonal or what is wrong. Can you go to the doctors and get her referred to a therapist?

This is just an amazing video. We usually do not talk about OCD in my country or the only thing we said is that oh that person is crazy, or I am crazy and we do not understand that this is real. Now after moving to the USA I started to understand what OCD is and started to read more about it. After seeing this video I understood lots of things that I didn't before, thank you so much girls!

This video is so beautiful and important as someone who struggles with depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts a lot of what you said resonated with me! Hearing Rosie's perspective especially provided hope for a future with a loving partner who will reassure me of myself and support me without finding me a burden! So thank you so so so much to all three of you (I'm including Maltese in this of course!!) for providing hope comfort and understanding! I love you!

A lot of people talk about the need to be authentic to be a successful KZbinr, but Rosie's face and reaction as Rose even just starts to talk about suicidal thoughts is as real and genuine as it gets. These two are what it looks like when #lovewins

This is genuinely the most helpful and touching thing I've watched from you guys in so long. I've suffered from OCD for as long as I can remember, also on the 'darker'/anxiety side, and I could relate to everything that Rose was saying. Sometimes I find it really helpful that my girlfriend knows my condition and has researched enough to be able to support me when I convince myself what is an irrational conclusion is rational and turn against everyone who disagrees. Thanks so much Rose and Rosie for this! Huge huge fan of you both. Your coming out videos helped me come out and now this video is helping with my OCD! #lifecoaches xxxx

I just can't get my head round the thought of Rose wanting to take her own life, she seems like the most fun and enjoyable person to be around (seriously her wit is on point). I'm sat here thinking how much I'd like to be Rose yet she's had similar struggles to me. This gives me a small glimmer of hope that one day my life may be fulfilling, thank you so much girls.

This video makes me feel so much better because I deal with the entire moral thing too and other stuff. So thank you guys for sharing because even today 5 years later this helps

I appreciate this video. I have ADD and wasn't diagnosed until I was in my 40"s. It was a pretty lonely life. I learn to cover up so much. I remember telling people that I thought that I had ADD when I was younger and they just laughed. No one had any idea of how I had to think of things. It can be a pretty lonely place. I relate when Rose was talking about her thought process and awareness of right & wrong. It was difficult to understand why other people don't have a moral compass when things just made sense to me. But I get envious too because I would just love to shut down my thinking sometimes. Thanks so much for talking about this. It helps to hear other people with some of the same problems. In a way it just makes it a little bit less lonely. I did crack up the first time you said, "When you know yourself." : ) You two are awesome!

Girls! Really love this video because was something I always though about after knowing that Rose has OCD. I never knew that OCD had that moral side that you said, I always heard about the cleaning thing and all. Can't think about living with a internal conflict because of the OCD and realizing you're a lesbian.. That was the bad phase between your 16-19? Hey, I think the background music was too loud and I couldn't hear and understand you right. (I'm a brazilian so I have to listen really clearly what you said so I can understand. lol)

I have a Maltese (the dog not pretend American snob)! I also have diagnosed OCD it seems like a lot of youtubers do. I think there's a big difference between people who say oh I like my house/room clean so I have OCD than actually struggling with it and getting diagnosed by a professional. So I'm really glad (well I wish Rose didn't have it of course) that this is a serious video with real OCD versus it seems cool to say you have OCD so I'm going to say I do too trend. Sorry you have OCD Rose I know it is a constant life long issue but it sounds like you have it really well managed right now so that's awesome. By the way did you ever take medication for it if so did it help or what was the pivotal point or thing that allowed you to get a handle on it?✌🏼️

Every time I watch you guys you remind me of my wife and I. She is so much like Rosie and I am like Rose. I was diagnosed with OCD when I was about 12 and my teens were hell but I have such a handle on it now. It still gets me sometimes but my wife is very understanding when I have my moments. I was just watching one video where you guys were talking about love languages and my wife is all about that stuff. She appreciates the cuddles and hugs and the reassuring and I prefer to do things for her and her do things for me like cooking and cleaning and buying each other things, etc. We even have our own like baby talk 😂. Anyways.. love watching you guys. I always get a laugh and it brightens my day ❤️

YourFriendRae Whatever mental health problem you might have, you should go to a professional (GP or whoever could refer you to the right person) they can diagnose you & help you overcome your problems. Good luck, you can & will get better.

I'm too anxious to even see a doctor though. I did once, they referred me to therapy and i went to 7/10 sessions and it didn't help and i was anxious about having to go to each of them too. I don't know. I hope I will be able to get help some day but i dont know how right now.

I know going to appointments can be really difficult for people with anxiety but it will be worth it if it helps. You need to go back, there are lots of different therapies to try, also it might just be the actual councilor that didn't suit you, so you should sum up the courage to try. Are you in the UK?

YourFriendRae I have GAD and depression in combination. I know it can be difficult to get help because when the illness is at it worst, it makes it more difficult to make rational decisions. And during your good periods, you don't really want to deal with the problem anyway and you just repress. But it really helps to be diagnosed and get the appropriate medicines and therapy. Plus it is liberating to be able to tell everyone.

(To the people suggesting to go to the GP in this situation) I also feel anxious about going. I think I have OCD/anxiety and depression, but my biggest problem is what do I say when I get there? Do I just say that I think have OCD or whatever? I feel like they won't take me seriously and I also get really nervous talking about myself, especially my thoughts and feelings 😭

Rose, thank you for shedding light onto some of the common obsessions/compulsions other than germs and cleanliness. OCD is stigmatized so much because of the extreme ritualistic behaviors that some people suffer with, but I think more people's OCD manifests itself in less obvious ways than flipping light switches and washing their hands every 10 minutes! Rosie, thank you for being so adorable.

I have developed OCD because my husband has heart failure, an enlarged heart, & an implanted defribillator. He smokes cigarettes & pot, he doesn't take prescriptions (which I understand). I obsess constantly on how to get him to move more, how to get him to quit smoking, how to get him to take Hawthorne & COQ10, how to get him to care enough about his health to at least eat some vegetables & fish. And I realized I am caught in a mental circle & I am totally obsessing & ruminating about something I have no control over, it will have to come from inside him.

Would you recommend any books for understanding OCD better? My family could really use them! What helped you understand Rose better, Rosie? My daughter (whose name is Rose, funnily enough) is a teen currently and was diagnosed with OCD, and is struggling a lot with it right now. Watching this video with the family really made a difference for her. She's been feeling very hopeless quite frequently, and your video made her feel hopeful for the first time in a long time. Thank you so much for sharing this.
