I bought one of those for my oldest son when he was 10. That was 24 years ago. He brought it up to my place to shoot about a month ago and forgot to take it home. I have been shooting it just about every day since and it is amazing how accurate they are. I shot a nickle at 25 yards first shot the other evening (could have been a little luck involved). Made in Brasil!

The rifle doesn't have an internal disconnect which means you can hold down the trigger while pumping the action and the gun will fire. It is sort of like a slam fire. As with any firearm you must keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target.

Inherited one of these from my Grandpa. I love it. Where it shines is teaching a new shooter because it is so easy to be accurate at 50-100 yards. Mine is at least from the 80s. I don't know the exact year Grandpa bought it and not sure how long they've been manufactured. It never fails.

I have two of the Rossi's - The carbine and octagon barrel. They are every bit as good as a Winchester 62 or 1906.
@mixup9811 жыл бұрын
The gun will fire by just holding down the trigger and pumping away, which isn't exactly safe, but as you know the finger shouldn't be on the trigger until the sights are on target. The gun was designed by John Browning back in 1890 and safety just wasn't a big concern back then. I'm not sure but maybe that is why the gun is no longer made by Rossi. Still an excellent design though.

The "winchester" .22 is one of the best rifles you can buy here in Brazil, not only because it has historical and collectable value but the ammo is really cheap. Also, considering that in Brazil you can't find guns like a SKS or M1 Garand (you can find a M1 Carbine, but they are expensive and the . 30 caliber has a CAC restriction), this is the best .22 option since you have a large ammo capacity. I really enjoyed the video, you shoot like Billy The Kid!

It's a fun rifle to shoot. I have the short version of it, measuring 16.5 inches from muzzle to chamber. Shot an old Winchester Gallery Gun as a kid and had to get this one when it came out. Crazy to think how hard to find and expensive .22LR ammo is today and how rich we could be if we only saw it coming. 500 round bricks were $10 and they were always in stock. Although this isn't the lightest .22 you could fit in a pack, I wouldn't hesitate to rely on it for taking game in a survival situation. Speaking of guns no longer in production, I can't imagine how many people would jump all over the M6 Scout if it were being produced today. Seems everybody and their mother is prepping for something to happen and there seems to be no shortage of buyers paying top dollar for a used copy of that gun. Finally, use a Stinger when shooting a can of shaving cream!

Great video as always. I got one of these when they first came out and I remember it was a really nice looking pump action. Now the bad part. The first shot I fired the casing burst causing hot particles to hit me in the face. Thank goodness I was wearing shooting glasses. My dad bought this Rossi for me and he brought it back to the gun shop and they checked it out and they took it back right away. Maybe the one I got was a lemon. I have heard that many of the guns made in Brazil are made with inferior soft steel.

Nice video, the Rossi is a sweet rifle. I have a decent brace of .22's. A Ruger 10/22, Ithaca 49, Papoose (wood stock), Marlin 20 (Glenfield), Norinco ATD.22, Rossi matched pair, Taurus 72 (.22 mag), and a Charter AR-7. My favorite is my Rossi 62 SAC. This little carbine is so nostalgic. I first read about it in "Popular .22's" in 1983. Phil Engeldrum's magazine. He said, quote- for rabbit hunters and trombone lovers...this gun just screams nostalgia. He was right. Got mine at Karnival Sports in Brooklyn, NY for $130. This was in 1984. It'll shoot shorts, longs and long rifle ammo (holds 15 rounds of .22 shorts) interchangeably!! It's really NOT a beginners gun as the safety is exposed hammer half-cock. Lowering the hammer to safe requires squeezing (GENTLY) the trigger as you ease the hammer down. Can be dicey on a loaded chamber if not careful. Also really can't scope this gun. A long relief pistol scope or a tang mounted peep sight (my choice). It is a slick little rifle, I would never sell it. To date have about 25,000 rounds thru it, never had a problem. You can't touch a true Winchester pump as they're too expensive. This is the next best thing. It is accurate, if I can see it I can hit it. Find one and buy it. You won't be sorry.

Whe My Dad was a Kid a old Man who lived up His street gave them to Him. That was in the 1930’s . Another video on a Rossi 22 pump showed a gun with a cruder looking fore stock. Old guns can have barrel liners silver soldered into them. The Winchester’s We have are also takedown with a wide top thumb screw . Rolling block 22’s were also popular in the old days

Low and behold just today I thought about finally buying one, just to find they've been discontinued... smh…… I guess I can put this on the list of guns that I should have bought when I had the chance. Another gun that I missed out on is the Ruger Redhawk in .357 mag. I'm not hurting for guns, I still have others that can fil those spots but I can kick myself for letting those two get away.....
