Colin Booth very kindly lent me this instrument for a concert with the Gonzaga Band at the Worcester Early Music Festival in May 2017. I was very taken by just how flexible it was and how the 4 foot register really could be used as an accompanying register.

Wow! That instrument sounds very good and is well tuned. Many other ottavinos do not sound so good and are often out of tune

Beautiful tone. Are the strings all brass, or brass and iron?

Beautiful technique, great-sounding instrument! Are only the lowest octave notes damped?
