Robert Pine really brought that character to life. It really created a balance between Poncherello and Jon. Thank you for commenting!

It was so great getting to meet him and to interview him. I tried not to talk about Chris too much, since I was trying to focus on his dad, but I’m glad I got to ask him a little bit about Chris Pine. Robert Pine had a lot of really great stories to tell about his life and career. Thank you for commenting!

That was another well done interview. Robert Pine seems to be very likeable. I lived very close to where freeway scenes were done for "CHiPs" and got to watch over my back wall. Your interview brought back fond memories from that show.

Thank you, Gretchen! Glad you liked it. Robert Pine is definitely a really great guy. I enjoyed getting to meet him and to interview him. He’s had a really great career. And I liked getting to ask him about his son, Chris Pine. That’s really nice that you got to see the freeway scenes from “CHiPs” being filmed over your back wall. Where we live now my mom could also see the scenes from “CHiPs” being filmed on the freeway, and since you both lived nearby at the time. Glad that my interview with Robert Pine revived great memories for you from that show and that time period. Thank you for commenting!

@@troyconley727 That was definitely the Golden Age of Television. The shows of the 1970s were some great series. They combined action, humor and heart. Robert Pine was so generous with his time, and happy to talk about his role as Sgt. Getrare. Thanks so for commenting! I really appreciate it.

He’s no longer Robert Pine, he’s Chris Pines Dad.

@RossiterMeets 4 ай бұрын
I understand why you say that, though I think that in a lot of ways he might be okay with being known as Chris Pine’s dad first and foremost. That said, his various roles, including the iconic “CHiPs,” stand out on their own. Thanks for commenting!

I was already a Las Vegas motor officer when this show came out. Thought it was a little goofy. Too much fluff , not enough real police procedure .They never pulled their guns when confronting bad guys. But it was a great recruiting tool. Police Story was a much better series. Preferred to ride my Harley. CHP officers are actually called Chippies! , not Chips. Chippies was a 70's slang for cheating on your spouse and they were not about to use the real term on the show

@RossiterMeets 11 күн бұрын
@@clarkcoleman9793 It’s really interesting to hear that perspective! “CHiPs” was definitely meant to be more of a buddy comedy than a serious crime show, and maybe that was one reason why it made work as a highway patrol officer look so appealing. I’m sure that the actual patrols were infinitely more challenging than the show made it seem, but “CHiPs” was good entertainment. I didn’t know that about the term “CHiPs”; makes sense that they would want to keep the title family-friendly. Thanks so much for commenting, and adding this insight!

I liked the question "did the show inspire people to become cops"? I wanted to move to California when I grew up (I was only 6 in 1977) to become a CHP motorcycle officer, get a water bed, and of course have a trans am, lol. This was my favorite show through the late 70's and into the early 80's before all the cast changes.

Shows like “CHiPs” definitely sold the California lifestyle. My mother grew up right near the freeway where most of the scenes were filmed. Even if you didn’t become a highway patrolman, it’s never too late for the waterbed and the trans am. Thank you so much for my nice comment about my question! I really appreciate it.
