If I was Rotax CEO I would buy EP and run it like Benz does AMG :)

Thomas, I know you are shy, but a narration of what we are watching and pointing out specific data points of interest would make this video more informative…… Keep up the amazing research and development….. Chris-

I’ll do some more in depth talking later. Always in a hurry with to much work. No time for editing 😂

EngHP = Horsepower EngPwr = KW Peak Power: 130HP/97KW BSFC 350g/kw/h Is 0.5754 lb/hp/hr (Good enough for Turbocharged engine at peak power).

Thanks for the video, I like your work. Still prefer the Epex engines though.

The second one is the EP? That seems to burn 15 to 20% more fuel per kWh than the first one.

How come there aren’t any performance upgrades for the 915? Seems like if it comes from the factory making more power than the 912 and 914 and you’ve already made more power with the others the 915 would be the next evolution to bring out even more power?

We’re soon launching the EP917Ti in 160/180/200HP versions 😊

@@EdgePerformanceNorway awesome! I assume those are max power figures for takeoff. What will the continuous power numbers be for the 160, 180 and 200hp models? What is the expected cost if I send in my 915 for the upgrades?

Curious why you run such lean afr? I have a little bit of experience in automotive tuning. We would be looking for more like low 13's to high 12's under load
@EdgePerformanceNorway Жыл бұрын
This is why automotive engines don’t rule in avaition where fuel economy matters. We often run lean of peak at 18:1 AFR on aircraft engines at 65-70% power. With proper combustion chambers, ignition advance and fuel timing we can safely run 15-15.4:1 AFR even under 4-8psi of boost.

@@EdgePerformanceNorway I would imagine you would run a variable timing table on that. What are you going to be looking at for ignition timing roughly between 60% load and 100%?

It is running around 11 at full power if you watch.

Which engine test did I just watch? Can somebody interpret the results for me?

EGT around 880C, will it not damage the engine?

Not with variable ignition timing. But with fixed like on your engine is sure could end bad. We even run 900-930 under certain conditions. AFR 15:1
