I made my own rotisserie, use the rear spindle and brake drum off front wheel drive car, put lever on park brake cable to stop turning. I saved several dollars. Thank for vidios I learn a lot.

I used stir sticks to make it a little easier to maneuver the little wheels over my lip of my garage. Make sure to tighten the front and rear attachment brackets. Lol I thought mine were tight enough, but it slid and scared the crap out of me! 😮

I think the best point in front is in the middle of the rad. In the rear its at the level of the rear bumper brackets.

I looked at theirs a couple years ago and it's a very nice rotisserie(yes I am a little jealous). But I am cheap and built my own. However next car I'd probably buy one as I didn't build mine to be mobile. And I wouldn't want one already assembled I enjoy putting kits together it's part of the fun.

Robert, you did a nice job with your rotisserie. It served your purpose quite well
@theinfernalcraftsman9 ай бұрын
@@rickgaine3476 Exactly it was fit for purpose.

I’m going to miss the old boat trailer! I can’t look at boat trailers any more without wondering if it would fit under my car body.

That is fantastic to see the next phase happen. Also any good mechanic will have to adjust at any given time to adapt so the job goes easier. Great out of the box thinking with those back mounts

Some southern engineering and 1 drill later and your set to go! It makes all the work on the bottom so much easier! I have 2 Whirlyjigs made in Tennessee. Can’t imagine doing it any other way.

A little trick to protect your rotisserie when you primer and paint. Wrap it in aluminum foil with a little tape. When you’re done just peel the aluminum foil off and throw it away and your rotisserie will still look new.

now that is a cool rig. although some assembly required ..LOL. going to make this and future projects much easier.

To me the best part of the design are the rollers on the main uprights.

Reduce the thickness of the bolt head by 1/4”. The bolt is overkill for the application so reducing the head will not hurt a thing.
@JoDaddysGarage9 ай бұрын
I thought of that but I went for what I knew would work. Showing others ideas as well.

You could slip the jack handle over the end of that crank handle to make it easier to turn and raise it, looks good, Thanks, Chris.
@JoDaddysGarage9 ай бұрын
Jack handle is smaller. I talked with the owner of the company. They plan on making a longer handle. And other improvements.

Congratulations, Barry! You're going to LOVE working on a rotisserie. I've used one that's 40 yrs old and wretched, compared to your new one, but it's saved my bacon, and my back, on two restorations so far. Yes, the bracket-fabbing and finding centerline is a pain, but man is it worth it! Yours, with screw jack centering adjusters, is especially nice because as you're working, adding and cutting on a project, the COG moves around a bit. Nice to be able to easily re-center the tub as you go. It gets really scary if that lump comes 'over-center' on you, as you're trying to spin it...ask me how I know ;) Loving your progress- it's relaxing to watch a hardworking guy do things right. And man, am I glad to have these steps behind me! I'm gonna finish my five year project this summer. Thanks to "Jo Daddy's Garage"!

Thank you for this ! I was looking into getting one. And I’m convinced it’s a good investment especially for an RX-8 and a Miata both of which I own. I’m subscribing and will try to keep up to date. Keep up the great work. Whether here or patron. You have to do what you need to do make yourself comfortable. If you have to take away KZbin because it’s more time focused on other things. Then it’s necessary you don’t get the time back so if it’s not beneficial. Step away and rethink & replan. Cheers 🍻

What is the overall height when the car is balanced on it's side? Wondering if it would fit in a space that's 8' tall? Good video as usual. Thanks for putting them out.

BTW the car i'm working on is a 68 mustang, so i'm assuming the dimensions will be close to the 69.

My loft towers are 8 feet tall for reference. I measured with the car on its side. Clears easily. Almost a foot to spare.

Would old shackle bushings take up the slack?
@JoDaddysGarage9 ай бұрын
Possibly, but they stick out past the ends.
@roberthirshfield35719 ай бұрын
Ok why not use the bushings from the spring perches in the rear

Hi Barry I have been wanting to build one like this. Would you be interested in selling the dimensions and material list of whats needed ?
@JoDaddysGarage9 ай бұрын
As a courtesy to this company I don’t feel I should do that. But I’m sure there are plans online.
@rickgaine34769 ай бұрын
I can certainly understand Barry's loyalty to the company. However, for those that can't afford with this product may cost, the infernal craftsman has a video on how he built a rotisserie for his 66 coupe. You may consider checking that out. it is however nice to support companies like redline who are willing to manufacture equipment like this to make working on projects easier for us.
@rickgaine34769 ай бұрын
Is this rotisserie vehicle specific, or can it work on Mustang, Camaro, or dodge? I have little experience with products like this. Would come in handy to find loose change lost in the car. Just flip it over and see what falls out. :)
@JoDaddysGarage9 ай бұрын
It will work with any car. Just need to find a way to mount it.
