Thanks so much for watching & for the kind, thoughtful comments. The bumper and the back corner were the worst damaged. Fortunately, no frame damage. A tiny bit of interior damage. The back corner had a small hole with crumbled fiberglass. The rest was mainly cosmetic abrasions & compartment covers. Escape Trailer Industries did all the repairs, and she looks good as new now. 😅 It's a scary thought if it were our home, she was in the shop for repairs for 7 weeks.

Thanks so much! We were very surprised that the damage was all cosmetic. The point of impact felt like the trailer would have been totaled, which would have been heartbreaking. The manufacturer did all the repairs, which was really nice & we trust that the inspection & repairs were done properly. Thank you, we really love the trailer, it's a big conversation starter when we are traveling & we have so much fun with it. We miss our little guy very much, it's hard looking at the videos but we are so happy to have them and watch him loving life. He loved the beach. ❤️-Jody

Ouch, bummer of a way to start a camping trip but like you said most importantly …” no one was hurt”. That’s a really nice looking area to camp.
@JC.Journey3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching - it was a really big bummer - most importantly no one was hurt. There were only 47 of this floor plan produced of the 15' Escape and they are no longer in production. From the sound & feel of the impact we were afraid the trailer would be totaled. To our surprise, fiberglass is amazingly strong and we had very little damage. We live close to the manufacturer, so they were able to make all the repairs and our little camper looks as good as new! This park is a beauty and one of our favorites to visit! Thanks so much for watching, we hope to have an inside tour video up soon. Take care. -Jody

Yikes! Glad you guys weren't hurt. Too bad about the damage. 😯 Campsites look pretty nice. 👍 You can tell it's a Washington beach by the how long the walk is to the water. It always seems like the beach is so big in the Northwest! 😁Nice trip.
@JC.Journey4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! It's incredible no one was hurt, we are so grateful. The damage was extremely disappointing (haha no pun intended) but it's been fully repaired by the manufacturer and it now looks good as new! 👍 Most of our beaches in Washington have quite a trek to get to the water, there are a few that are nicer than others and this is one of them. We like that vehicles are not allowed to drive on this beach. The campground is very nice, all loops are in paddle-wheels and most have fairly good separation. It does get extremely busy in the summer, so reservations are a must.

So glad y’all weren’t hurt in the accident. Y’all were very lucky with minimal damage as well. One thing for sure I won’t be pulling a trailer-type RV when I go full time soon…after 38 years pulling from 38 to 57 footers I’ve had enough! I had to laugh when Chris was backing the motor home…I could park ANY trailer, during my trucking days, on a gnat’s behind…but, when I backed a U-Haul you’d swear I never backed a trailer in my life! Lol! Longer the trailer easier it is to back…meaning less distance to ‘push’ it. Great video as always! ~Jim~

What a way to start your camping trip. That kind of experience can give nightmares for years, but you had luck in the sense that it happened when you were going to nature and not on the way back. As you say - nature has healing power and makes us calmer after situations like this. Big things, small things, scary things; nature is there to put things into proper perspective:) But I have to say that the name of the place - "Cape Disappointment"must have been made in joke or something:) It was no disappointment for me to watch your adventure there! It looks like a place where I would love to go hiking and camping! Stay safe and have a lovely Christmas in a few days. It has been a special year and a dark one, but tomorrow will be the darkest day on the Northern Hemisphere and from then it will get brighter!
@JC.Journey4 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much, yes the accident still gives us nightmares, especially when we pass by the specific spot where it occurred! It's one we won't soon forget. The name of the State Park is no joke, it refers to the rugged headland where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean. The headland was named Cape Disappointment by English Captain John Meares, who approached the cape in 1788, but could not locate the river's entrance. Meares, therefore, named the headland Cape Disappointment. Thus the name for the State Park! It's a gorgeous area to explore, hike, and camp. One of our favorites! It's very popular and reservations to camp are a must. Thanks so much for watching - Have a wonderful week! -Jody

Thank you very much. We are very grateful. At the time it felt like the end of the world, but I'm glad we continued on with our trip that day even though we were a ball of frazzled nerves. After we were able to mentally process what happened (being at the ocean really helped) we reminded ourselves, in the end, it's just "stuff". Everyone involved had their lives and that was of utmost importance. 😊 Our little yorkie is a ball of energy, she's so much fun, thank you. I love that clip of her too. -Jody

Thanks! We are so grateful. It was really scary and honestly something we will never forget. The force of the impact, which actually was the car catching our bumper and pulling backwards felt like the entire back of the trailer would have been obliterated. The flexibility of fiberglass is incredible, the only hole was in that one corner. We will make a video showing the repairs, but spoiler alert, Escape Trailer Industries completed all the repairs and it looks good as new! We love Fort Stevens too! We camped there in the O loop early October last year, had the loop to ourselves! We are really looking forward to getting out soon!
