Just found this channel... and shed a tear at 14:21. RIP Mo. May everyone have a "Mo Pinel" in their bowling life. We all need one.

Your videos with Mo are Priceless, and so INFORMATIVE.....I replay every so often, particularly episodes 11, 12, and 13. Mo was extremely knowledgeable about the game in MANY ways, as well his commitment, love to the sport, as well it's future!....Thank you Chris, and RIP MO!!

Great job guys! Again, as I said on the previous rant. I heard faint voices saying hold off on new purchases. However, I also enjoyed the validity of my most recent purchase of the theory!

As a Vintage Full Roller who struggles to get modern balls to work properly, I can whole heartily agree with Mo that layouts are everything! I have drilled up a ball with one Full Roller layout and it was a total dud. I plugged and put a different/opposite layout on it and now it is an H-Bomb. Layouts matter, a ton. I will point out however that each type of core, even with the same layout, will have different PAP's. The PAP moves around. It is really an area rather than a point. So you can put the same layout on three entirely different balls and when you measure your pap on each, you will see it is different, not in the same spot.

@Bowling Circus For years I was a Full Roller but did not know it. So I was using Semi-Roller layouts and getting horrible ball reactions and very inconsistent results for years. No PSO bothered to look at my ball track, or ask me how I roll the ball. They just put a standard pin up layout on my balls, gave me a pat on the head and sent me on my way to failure. Then one day I found an article about Full Rollers and how they roll the ball. It sounded a lot like me. So I asked one of my PSO's to plug are redrill one of my balls as a Full Roller. They were skeptical, but once I rolled the ball, they asked me to show it to them, and sure enough, the track was right through the palm. Full Roller. So for me, being a Full Roller was a natural way of rolling the ball that no one taught me. It just came naturally.

I learned in '68 from my dad (he died in '71) and drifted off from bowling until just a few years ago so i'm really screwed up now. Not sure what you mean by "full roller" but it has me wondering. I'm learning but the new tech is blowing my mind (and could potentially blow my bank account)

I haven’t ever had a pro check my pap in 50 years of bowling. I’ve had balls drilled in close to 10 different shops. I’m getting older and think I need to shorten my span and be refitted. Do you know of a good shop in the Chicago area?

Great job Chris--really enjoyed the rounds with Mo! Since the core is the "engine" and the cover is the "tire," wouldn't the layout then be the "steering?"
@BowlersRant4 жыл бұрын
The layout locks in the motion. The steering is your hand position and release. You have no control after the ball leaves your hand (obviously).

Would layout be big for 2 hand bowlers as well?
@BowlersRant4 жыл бұрын
Yes! Check out the Radical Fans Group Facebook page. They have two handed layouts listed there!

Wrong again Mo. And most supporters. The more you bowl the better you’re used to your layout your ball. It’s your job to keep selling balls Rest in peace but you are wrong
