Loved my High Rev 3D Offset back in the late 90's. Still have it and although I no longer use it in competition it did work surprisingly well when I took it out for some open bowling after league a few years ago. All the Roto Idols showing up in the ball returns recently remind me a lot of the 3D it and it's unusual color.

very informative video...Seems Mo can still e'splain ball mechanics to us unwashed masses. haha. Seriously though Mo's always been great at explaining his vision & helping us all to understand what we see from a given ball on the lanes. That said, i was a huge fan of the Violet 3D Offset and the new Radical Result ball looks extremely versatile.

I love my results (I am behind on new balls I’m broke,so used only.) and I am waiting to pick up a maximum results, but 900 global made a ball called the continuum that has a higher int diff and a higher total diff, it was made in 2018. If I am understanding this video right, the existence of that ball means that the results is not the first ball of in the “strong asym” category. I love my results and want to try more in the line, but also want to the 900g one.

Hi Mo, have you gone beyond 90 degrees on the drilling angle for players who have a 350 rpm rev rate?
3 жыл бұрын
I was averaged 225+ in 8 different houses over the years with the very first reactive resin equipment from NuLine - the Excalibur I'm close to 60 and still have one more left and still throw it to this day. Before that - in the 80's the Columbia Yellow Dot - 202 to 210 avg. In High school - thru 1979 - Black Diamond avg. 200 . I learned how to roll the ball and follow throw to get a controlled roll and GRADUAL CURVE to the pocket ( NOT a HOOK ). Never ever used finger grips. I think techno balls have taken the skill out of the game. We have clueless ( big brawny ) dudes who know nothing about the oil patterns, dots, boards or anything that average 210+ because they can throw 17 to 19 MPH and hit a 5 board area and the balls recover. I was taught how to hit within a 1/2 board mark to score. You missed by 5 boards back in my day is was a 5 to 7 count depending upon pin action. I always been between 12.2 to 12.5 MPH, only in the last 2 to 3 years have I had to increase that speed to 13.5 to 14.0 due to these oil eating techno balls. ( 26 300's and 15 800's with that ball and it still hits hard.... Not saying his equipment is not good, lot of guys like Mo'Rich, if it ain't broke don't try and fix it I guess. Could I be missing out ? I top the ball very heavily, and thing I've ever tried that is aggressive on weight block or cover stock... I can't control it... to much hook. Any suggestions ???

Can you explain the purpose of the white markers on the balls? I could see they had different rotations and processions but was not sure what the markers were signifying. It did not look like they were on your PAP. Also, what Full Roller layout would you recommend to get the most out of the "Results?" The Standard 45 degree Leverage Layout with pin at 3 3/8"?

What would the difference in reaction be between a 10 x 4 1/2 x 30 and a 30 x 4 x 70 on either Results or the Theory?
@BowlingScience
@BowlingScience 4 жыл бұрын
Similar shape, both lose tilt quickly. But the smaller angle one will be faster transitioning... One is strong and forward, the bigger angle one is milder and smooths out over under... The results will be snappier, the theory will be smoother.

On the short pin layout how does the ball still retain its energy through the pins when it rolls early
@BowlingScience
@BowlingScience 4 жыл бұрын
Gotta let go of that thought process to break through... balls don't store energy, just convert and transfer forces. Short pin layouts allow you to use strong hitting power in a controlled more direct way. The hitting power of this ball lies in the combination of the crazy high diff ratio, dynamicore, and the friction of TP1 coverstock. For a ball to rev up it must slow down, and for a ball to continue hard through the pins, it must finish hooking and be in an end over end roll! The next video dives into the numbers of the drilled balls to help show how this ball can create so many effective shapes!

I thought this ball was special because of the 100% textured pearl vs the uppercut and conspiracy theory but it's more the versatility of the core. I'd like to see what a dialed back no thumb drilling would look like with a 2 hander on house. I get the sense this would be too much ball even with the versatility. I'm trying to figure out what would be the best radical fresh house ball for high revs high speed to still play straighter but can finish when moving in during transition

What about Balls from MoRich over the decade, like N'sane Lvrg & N'tense LvRg with 0.36 int diff?? Also the Ntense had a textured pearl cover & scripted as it had Radical backend reaction . . Conspiracy or facts lol The Awesome line was 0.28 & guess what it has a void like the Catalyst core for Crux balls... mmm who thought of it first, MO did!
@BowlingScience
@BowlingScience 4 жыл бұрын
The LevRG series had some aspects that hinted at the future, but those covers were far from what we have now in TP1 and the "cave" cores lacked the drilling versatility we have today. The way holes interact with MOs new core enhances motion in a big way.

Geometric cores, new bowling ball technology is eliminating the human element in bowling. The new technology is tipping the scale, against the true skillful bowler. No wonder 300 games are so common now even with the house bowler, all because of ball technology. Sad.

Just as sad as anyone being able to hit the ball 300 yards in golf? The human element isn't removed, just the task has changed!

@@BowlingScience Jack Nicklaus was hitting the ball 300 yds with metal shafts now with technology golfers are hitting the ball over 350 yds. I was quoting Brian Voss about geometric cores. My answer is un bias.. Bowling alleys are the same length they were 30 years ago, 300 games have zoomed in total not because humans have advanced in 30 years. What changed in technology of bowling balls. Obvious just check amount of 300 games bowled today compared to yesteryear. Thank you for your reply.

@@hankgolfer1 People are also a lot more knowledgeable about the sport than 30 years ago. Many sports over the last 30 years look quite different when you look at players' techniques and equipment. Yes bowling balls are a lot better now, but techniques have improved a lot as well. Just looks at approaches/releases from 30 years ago vs now, very different.

You still have to EXECUTE....no matter WHAT ball you use.Even the pros who have the newest and best equipment don't rip it up in leagues back home.
@darrenfletcher3955
@darrenfletcher3955 4 жыл бұрын
hankgolfer1 I will say that ball technology does play a part in more 300s thrown when it comes to leauge bowling. However at the the higer amuture to pro levels over the past 30 years there has been a huge shift in the way that people deliver the ball. Most if not all bowlers from 1990 look very different in the way that the ball is deliverd compared to todays modern game. I would argue that most pros today are not only have more power then that time but are more accurate for the most part. Of corse the greats like Norm Duke, Parker Bone III, Pete Weber, and if we go farther back Walter Ray are some of the most accurate people to play the game, however if you where to compare the average pro in the 90s to the avrage pro now I would be very suprised if the pros now do not dominate in accuracy. Also you have to take in consideration that bowling is just as much about phisicaly making the throw as it is knowing what your throwing on such as the pattern, break down of said pattern, and topography of the lane. Todays balls give players more options to meet the conditions of the lanes. And we are seeing that people are using older technology in bowling balls to combat modern patterns such as using urathane and still using symmetric core balls. If anything I would say that pros now have started to fine tune the phisical game to a point that bowling is more about gathering and appling the information that the lanes and balls are giving you and makeing the best adjustments possable. But overall I would say that the players have gotten better the lane conditions have gotten harder and the balls give more options to the players to deal with the harder conditions. Now for people that bowl in leauges it is a different story the lane conditions are already easy and are very forgiving to misses and as long as you have consistent speed and rev rate as long as you are holding the right ball and are in the right place it is very easy to strike even if you are not accurate. This combined with the 1000s of diffrent shapes you can now create with new bowling balls you can with enough time and money match a person to a ball and layout to get them to have a very likely chance of strikeing as long as the get it to the right of the headpin (for a right hander). However that is the point of a house pattern its disigned to be easy for a reason. You are ment to score high its suposed to be a fun activity for leauge bowlers its not ment to be a true test of knowledge and skill. So in conclusion the bowlers today are better (in general), the lane conditions are harder (for pros), leauge is ment to have lots 300s, and new bowling balls give more options not more strikes.
