Fights like this, and all the smoke be blown up her ass, made Ronda confident in her standup. In reality, her ground game was ACTUALLY next level, and was amazing to watch on her rise. Shame she didn't have a better coach.

I don’t know about the coach , I’m uneducated on that . I just felt there was a SEVERE decline in confidence and a lot was mental . Her coach brainwashed her into thinking her striking was the best and then she got this KO.* If she just grappled Amanda Nunes and Holm there’s no way she would’ve lost. Did anyone notice how different Ronda’s voice sounded right after her official weigh-in vs pre-weigh-in? Shows how much weight cuts affect a fighter’s body. A bit concerning IMO.
@Browser4042 жыл бұрын
Oh yeah but thats nothing new Many of them fight well outside their weight classes to have that advantage. If they can handle those vicious cuts then it can benefit their career. Look at usman, weighs in at 170lbs, probably fights closer to 180-185. But he's a much bigger advantage in Welterweight. Same as McGregor who use'd to look like a crackhead at weighin's.

Not a big fan of Rousey BUT if there was any fight I wanted her to win at all costs was vs Betch, she was next level disrespectful and that was satisfying even for Ronda haters. Sadly though for similar reasons she was on the opposite side of the spectrum vs Holmes. However losing to Holmes is one thing, losing to Correia would’ve been a loss that may haunt you forever. Holmes and Nunez, you can live with those losses. Love or hate Ronda she made her mark and with the right coaching may have went further however still made a historic mark in UFC history and nobody can take that away from her.

Everyone was a yes man to Ronda. I think her mom was the only one that was probably real with her. Unfortunately, she was grossly outnumbered. Her coach sucked, yes, but so did everyone else who gassed her up as far as her striking went. This fight was beginning of the end. She won, but in winning how she did, she lost. She lost her mind by believing she was now a world class striker. She lost when she started believing she was the best and that everyone was 3 tiers below her. You always have to assume the next contender can beat you so that you aspire to trsin smarter and harder, stay hungry. She was a star who had leeches and yes men around. There was only one way to go from there.
