Your drum sticks makes a great soup. Just boil with onions, garlic, celery or green peppers, etc. The broth is wonderful, just cook until meat comes off easily from the bones. Then add what you want vegs, rice, or potatoes or pasta😋. I like to add mix vegs, cabbage or zucchini a can tomato sauce, and spice cumin.

That’s a great tip! I do have quite a bit of canned water for emergencies. I need them emptied for a potential long distance move this Fall. My husband retired from the military in November 2023. We are taking our time sorting our next step. So I’m going to freeze dry any garden produce to save weight and space. Plus it’s safer- no broken jars of food. The back pain is crazy! Yes worse than childbirth. Or the same cause I can’t move well in either scenario😅 I have avoided surgeries. My nephew was in a bad accident over the summer and was pinned by a car- broke his back and neck. He is doing okay now but has a lot of hardware in his back. Thanks for watching! 🌻🌻🌻

Congratulations on your husbands retirement from the military thank the Lord because these are terrible times we are living in. I hope you find a wonderful forever home this fall and that totally makes sense preferring to move jars with freeze dried produce vs water because it can be very heavy, to move a lot of filled jars. I also have an upcoming move in the coming months and have no idea where to exactly, we just know the general location close to my daughter’s family and those sweet grandbabies. I’m praying every day that God will show us the way and how it will all come together because I do believe he has a plan for all of us. I’m praying he shows the way soon. I try not to worry and leave it in his hands but am also keeping my eyes and ears open as well. @leannekenyoung Leanne that’s similar to us. Just not sure until God shows us the way. We are faithfully patient. Also- our mortgage interest is only 3% so we would feel silly selling this home only to not be able to afford the same elsewhere😅 It’s a lot to consider for sure. I want to be near family in Virginia- but the winters are still too harsh for a dedicated golfer. It’s possible we will stay here- but migrate south for the winters so he can work and we can have more sunshine/vitamin D. Praying for guidance for your family as you navigate getting closer to your family- I hope it happens sooner than later. I know how important that is. I wish we made it back “home” before my MIL passed. My mom passed when I was 20. I’d give anything for my children to experience the loving embrace of a grandmother. It’s just not how our story panned out. And it’s been one of the sadder aspects of our family life. The kids don’t know any different. It breaks mine and Aarons hearts for them to not know a grandmas depth of love. 🌻🌻🌻🌻

@@RowesRising awe I’m so sorry your children didn’t get the chance to know a grandma’s love actually that’s why I wanted to be called grandma and not nanny or nana or anything else because I had my grandma with us until I was well into my 40’s and my children knew her as well as their great grandma. She was a very special lady to me and I know if there is anyone besides my own mother that I would like to be like it’s my grandma. I hope and pray my grandchildren get to know me and the incredible depth of love that I have for them. It truly is a love like no other I saw my sweet granddaughter this past Saturday and I was just telling someone else that my grandma’s love cup was refilled to over flowing for a little while. I can’t stay away too long because I miss her so dearly. I loved my own children beyond measure but a grandmas love is truly an incredible blessing and although your children didn’t get the opportunity to know it directly I can absolutely tell that the love is shining through you and everything you do for your family. They are blessed with a wonderful mother’s love that encompasses all the past generations of all the women that came before you. You are your mother’s daughter and are a lovely example of her. I was sad that my granddaughter never got to meet my own mother but she looks at pictures of a much younger me with my mom and my granddaughter who is only 21mths old will point to it and says Nanny and Grandma(my mom was called Nanny by my children) it’s amazing to me that somehow she recognizes me and my mother yet she’s never met her. I think at times our ancestors sit on our shoulders especially when we are busy in the kitchen and our children can”see” so much more than we can. This world is such a mystery at times. Anyway I know that sounds weird but I have no other way to explain it. So pls know your children are blessed with a grandmas love through you, you will ensure they will know a mothers love and also a grandmothers love. There are seasons that children go through and as parents we go through them as well and we don’t always completely understand it all but given time wonderful and amazing insights become clear. God bless and give those sweet youngsters a special hug 🥰 because they are only little for a short time. I pray your family will be able to be closer to your family as well. It is incredibly difficult to make transitions especially with that beautiful home you have built. Thank you for also praying for us for the guidance. Life is incredibly difficult but when we give of ourselves and help others it can ease the challenges every day. 🥰❤️🇨🇦🍁🙏🏻

I had to resign from my law enforcement job do to my health and I was going to start making videos too but I am not sure how to begin in the editing and posting . Make sure you make a video redoing your deck . Do you follow Becky ? Aka acrehomedstead ? She videos everything ! She just painted her grow seed room that was just dry wall . She is in the Portland area as well and lives in a high altitude like you and they received so much snow as well . She did the pantry challenge for a month like I did . It’s a lot of work !!! Omg 😳

When I store my empty jars on the cardboard box, I store them upside down so no dust gets it. I also on a new cases cut the plastic in a way that I can refit it back over jars that are in storage like new.❤

He’s doing this degree to check a box the Chapter 31 program required for him to get the funding for a bachelors degree and BAH. He’s getting his masters in teaching and will be a master golf instructor for the PGA. Goals😅 He LOVES golf. But for chapter 31 they try to pigeon hole you into a career field- they pushed for physical therapy and Aaron refused so he settled on kinesiology just to get a degree. It was stressful cause the VA still has control over some of his decisions, and he’s over it. 😅

Do you follow cooking with Pam? She keeps us informed about ingredients and recalls. I just love her. Well because i am still learning good and bad ingredients, i appreciate channels like hers. Anyways, she recently had a shorts video about shredded cheese. Apparently there is a ingredient in it that is a prescription drug. Crap, because i like the convenience of shredded cheese. So it looks like I'll use up what we have and cringing while i do and and then just buy brick cheese and use my food processor to shred it up. Doing whatever i can to help our future health. I'm sick of feeling tired and run down all the time. Gosh darn food, i love it so much and the bastards are ruining my health, sucking the life out of me it seems. We aren't broke, but we live like we are. Man, we have so many needs, but we just don't want the debt. Desperately needing a side by side to use around the farm and I keep telling my husband to pray pray pray, the funds will be there when HE thinks we need it.

@@RowesRising I just got off the phone with my cousin. I told her that I will just keep trying harder to stay informed of all the ingredients in stuff. I feel like i read them all day, all the time. Ugh. I guess I'll just buy a bunch of brick cheese, shred it up, divide it in bags and freeze it. Neighbor is back to giving us goat's milk. 🤗👍😍 By the way, i LOVE LOVE LOVE that skirt. It's my style too. I dress my daughter up modestly too. People are always complimenting me on her outfits. She looks like a little Laura Ingalls. Hahahhaha I shop 100% cotton on temu, or I thrift store shop. I stay away from huge name brands and their wretched, ridiculous prices. My next adventure is getting my sewing machine out, blowing the dust off and back to sewing my own clothes.

@@RowesRising I have all I can do just to maintain what NEEDS to be done. My mother in law just went through a nasty summer and ended up having her colin removed and replaced with a bag. Her gut was torn up, her whole body was full of ulcers. Seeing that has really made me step up my game. And still, she hasn't changed her diet. LORD willing, I will do what i can with the information i get to change the food my family eats because i never want us to go through what i witnessed. When she was going through all of this, i met a 90 yr old woman that is running around looking and acting like she's in her 60s. I had a LONG talk with her. Gosh, i love meeting new people and discovering their secrets to health and youth. Living the way GOD intended us to live. I love your positive mindset. So when i feel like laying down to take a nap because my eyes are on fire, I talk myself out of it. Come on woman, you got shit ta do. Hahahahahaha

Thanks ladies. 12 years ago I was obsessed with feeding my family perfectly Whole Foods- now as a mom of 5 with my own health struggles- I choose my “support” sometimes that’s shredded cheese so my husband can make a meal and give me a break. 😅 I get it. I do- I was a crazy lady and never allowed my first two kids to have any processed foods. I have come a long way relaxing into motherhood. And I just don’t sweat every detail- there is so much more to life than stressing the few occasions I use convenience. 🌻🌻🌻
