Sad that the repetitive nature of the game couldn’t be fixed and we got a proper remaster, because I agree. Watching the cutscenes was sad but I feel they dropped the ball on not having the players actually play some of the story battles. It would have added more impact to an already devastating story.

What happened was that Roxas can wield Sora and Ventus' Keyblades at his greatest strength, as he is the Nobody of Sora, whose heart is connected to Ventus. However, Xion's existence caused her and Roxas to inherit one each. When Xion died, she had hoped that her memories and Keyblade abilities would go back to Sora, but instead they went into Roxas, allowing him to wield two Keyblades. In theory, Sora can wield two as well (for himself and Ventus), but because he never got a Bequeathing, he never was a true Keyblade wielder until the Kingdom Key chose him over Riku at Hollow Bastion; additionally, Roxas was still partially refusing to combine with Sora, resulting in Sora having to "force it out" with drive form.

Probably the only game to make me cry. And thats not bad! It just goes to show that graphics aren't the only thing that makes a game good. I want a game that can affect me emotionally. I want a game to make me actually feel for the characters in it. I wish more games could do that. This game is truly a master piece (and a roller coaster of emotions at that) in my opinion

I have never had any character that I wanted to win so badly despite knowing already they were going to lose. The fact that the "fight" against Riku Ansem is in a cutscene just makes it harder, because the writers knew perfectly well that the only way they could have Roxas lose was through a B.S. cutscene loss.

I don't remember the recreate memories, he can bring memories that are deep within him, but not sure about recreating. As for bringing back, I think Ansem was referring to Terra in this case, since his existence is now gone with the "original" Xemnas eliminated. Rescue from the Darkness-Aqua. And once they find Ventus, Sora can return Ventus' heart back to him.

Finished playing 358/2 Days alongside the PS3 HD cutscenes. A little hard to line them up because they changed some of the scenes, excluded others (like the battle with Saix), and added some new ones (one or two, not a whole lot). But it made it better, I think. DS resolution isn't so great. That final battle and the Neoshadow/Riku fight were really good. Particularly the latter, where you get to go all-out at Roxas' full strength. You'll mop the floor with all of the enemies if you were even halfway thorough about levels and abilities.
