Roy is on point. Boxing needs characters and narratives. Sometimes I miss Bert Sugar, he was a great writer who communicated the boxer's characters so astutely. Made them mythical. I'm a boxing writer myself, and I hope to represent the sport with that level of integrity.

@@HASHxFaceBOXING It was a treat to see him fight during his long run at the top. Made it look too easy he was so good.
@willh6913 күн бұрын
@@HASHxFaceBOXING to be fair, Dre never really had anyone in his league that would've helped propel him to that status. He faced some very good fighters but did he have any opponents on the level of a prime James Toney or BHop, I'm not so sure. Those would have been great fights but nevertheless - Ward stands alone as the sole MAN of the division from 2009 till he retired in 2017. Don't forget how he annihilated a 42-0 Kessler to begin that run of dominance, now.
@TheKontrarian6 күн бұрын
I met Roy in ATL airport several years back. What you see on the cameras and the interviews is exactly who he is in person. Down to earth and real. Being from "the country" too myself... a southern man from rural GA... I get everything he's explaining about what it means to be that.

This is very much needed. They all have to live up to Tarver's Take though. His analysis is the best and it aint even close at this point. He is fearless and doesn't let his relationships with the fighters cause him to say cowardly stuff like "it's a 50/50 fight." Much love to ATS!

I always liked Roy Jones was a huge fan of him. Love the way he fought that lunging right and left superfast hands. Just love the way he fought but seeing him actually talk there. Makes me realize what a good man he is also just the only one he kind of followed or looked up. Was Muhammad Ali which anybody that follows and feels that way about Ali I think has to have a good heart.

The aim is to be number one (#1 ) Everything else will follow. 🫡🫡 Roy Jones Jr ✊🏾
