I like to go back to remember. He was one of a kind. His blitz jab and blitz 1-2 jab left or jab hook 2 da body was perfect. Reminds me technical karate point fighters. Age really killed his game, though, badly as I thought tyson beat him in their sparring match.

I worked for Don King in the lead up to this fight and these guys genuinely liked and respected one another. I got to hang out a few minutes with Tito a couple days before the fight in Deerfield Beach at the old Hilton down the street from Don’s HQ on Fairway Drive. Fun times!

ещё дело в том, что он очень часто неправильно вёл себя на ринге, бокс не прощает этого, например, этого перца он мог уложить в первые тридцать секунд, а сколько Рой специально пропустил ударов за это время, это всё накапливается...

@@mikhailshchekotov7765 С точки зрения классической школы бокса Рой боксировал неправильно, у него достаточно ошибок в техническом плане. Просто пока он был молод, с запредельной скоростью и рефлексами, ему это все не мешало, а когда он погонял веса, да и просто постарел, то все эти огрехи и повылазили.

Roy was 39 and Felix 35 I think. Roy was at the end of his career but you could see his skill as he counter punched off the ropes. He could still step over and punch, jump in with hooks, and land lead rights. Roy”s defense was hard to penetrate and he had to be in great shape to take those body shots and not fade in the later rounds. The guy he beat, Felix Trinidad, was one of the all time greats. Great fight.

Have to agree with the two above. Roy Jones moved up weight classes in his prime. He was what 39... He moved down to fight this which does strain you but you still keep a lot of strength. Muscle memory isn't a joke Jones fought at what light heavy or even heavy weight at a time. They both clearly aren't in their prime I have seen most of both their fights.

Jones fought the perfect fight, barely got hit on the head thanks to a good active high guard, the vast majority of body blows received where low, moved well and knocked the guy down twice. At age 39 👏

Tito’s strategy was to make Roy Jones drop his hands to open up shots to the head. Thats why he kept going at RJJs belt. It was a decent strategy but RJJ was ready for it.
