Kind of feel like if any other team in the league had signed Keane instead of Forest he'd have been a different player. He became an on field Brian Clough there. He wasn't there long but given his age he probably picked up a tone of good habits that made him the player he was.

I mean, yes Crossly's kick was terrible, but the goal that followed could only happen because Cossly was so far off of his line, and the only reason Crossly was so far off his line waa because of Keane's horrendous backpass. In other words, had Keane not made such an awful attempt at a pass the goal wouldn't have happened. All of that is just basic logic - don't needlessly put your own keeper under pressure like that.

Clough didnt blame keeper, must have been drunk again!
@fuzzluvver6911 ай бұрын
He didn't blame the Keeper because it wasn't the keeper's fault. Crossly was put under huge pressure having to come way out from his goal, with an oncoming attacker. He hit a poor kick, yes, and isn't the first or last keeper to do that, but the goal could ONLY happen because he was so far out of goal, and he was only so far out of goal because of Keane's diabolically bad attempt at a back pass. The entire root of the problem was Keane here. That's all just basic logic.
