I have also seen a lot of oldies ie over 60 or 70 year olds buying them as they remind themselves of their youth. When in my teens I rode a BSA B40 350 cc machine. single pot and it would just about do 70 mph one up and 75 mph two up or more down hill or wind assisted. Those were the days. The glory days. but it refused to brake with 2 up. So as the brakes work on the R.E. I am thinking that it would be a bike for me very soon.

Hi from Australia. I own two high powered motorcycles that are not really built for commuting in a built up city. So I bought a 350 Classic to commute. The dealer commented I would find it underpowered and not like it after the bikes I own. He was wrong. I love riding it and it is the best bike around town and in traffic. Looks great and easy to maintain and FUN TO RIDE.

I live in Texas and we have thousands of miles of back roads which the RE Classic is perfect for. The seat is incredibly comfortable and it has enough weight to make the ride smooth. The Classic, due to its anemic performance, does not belong on freeways or highways. If you are looking for torque and speed, the Classic is not going to make you happy. If you are looking for a laid-back riding experience on lonely back roads, then the Classic will make you very happy. I'm still "running" mine in and cannot wait to take it on a 200-mile trip in the future.

Last October I bought a Chrome/Bronze Classic. Because of the break in suggested I almost returned it the first week. It was an excruciatingly painful process. But now that I have 2500 miles on her she just hums along. I live in Southern California where to get anywhere you have to hop on the freeways with traffic, if it is moving, is as high as 85 mph. After a few mods she will easily get out and do 65 mph no problem. But I'm telling ya that riding a new bike is nowhere near riding a broken in one. The constant complaints from the reviewers about breaks, suspension and all are completely absent because until about 1200 miles the bike just not up to it's capabilities. I can throw her around the twistys up in the local mountains and the hills in Orange County and LA with ease, so the tire thing is also a load of bull. CEAT is a division of Pirelli just as ByBre is a division of Brembo. And my other bike is a CBR1000RR so I know what a bike should handle like, having ridden sportbikes for 40 years. The Classic is really a diamond in the rough. Thanks for the video! Cheers from LA 🏖

The break in period is definitely a frustrating process but it's worth it. The demo bike we took out was a bit vibey. Probably because it'd been thrashed from zero miles - conversely ours is really smooth. Just approaching 1000 miles now and it gets better and better 👍

Down sized from a Kawasaki 900 to a chrome classic 350 Brakes? Ride old school front and back application braking works fine especially when bedded in same as the CEAT tyres. Been riding since 1969 . Best single pot road bike I've ever ridden . And for a long stroke its incredibly smooth. Touring? done that on a Honda 50 so no sweat on a 350 just avoid motorways which I always do anyway. Bloody ultra boring roads to ride.

A small bike ridden at or 90% of what it can do is far more fun than a big bike ridden at 30% of what it can do. My happiest biking memories and best adventures were on a 250 single 2 stroke. Sit on it for long enough and you can get anywhere, and it's so much cheaper to run. A bike that can do 150mph needs tyres rated for that speed, even though you never do it on the road. I have a Guzzi V7 and my next bike may be an Enfield. EDIT: I actually decided against the Enfield because I didn't like the dealer. Ended up with a Triumph 660 Tiger Sport. Although it is capable of high speed, it rides very nicely and smoothly within 30 and 40 mph limits too.

I did a 1000km trip around Nepal two-up on a Classic 350 a couple of months ago. I ride a Bullet 500 at home. As expected, the Classic has way less pick up, and I found it needed to be in first on any kind of up hill. But that's fine in a country where the speed limit is between 20 and 40 kmph. Any faster and you'd be picked up by a speeding bus. I have a playlist of our near death experiences. I think the Classic is a fine elegant and smooth ride. It made me feel like a gentleman, whereas the Bullet makes me feel like a bit of a wrongen.

We're not big people - probably 20st combined, but it copes really well as you suspected. There's actually quite a lot of room and the pillion comfort is excellent too. We looked at the Meteor 350 as well but that was a little too compact for two. I chose the blacked out engine as the finish is likely to be more durable and I didn't want a garage queen - I've had too many of those. I wanted a bike I could ride for an extended season. I've got an older (2016) Bullet 500 which I keep alongside my 'big bike'. It's the worst motorcycle, dynamically, I've ever had, but the one that's absolutely captured my heart. Is it fast? Nope, but clipping around the lanes on it is great fun - it makes a lovely sound, makes old geezers on the side of the road wave as I go by, and I've been all over the South Downs, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Essex and Kent on it for weekends away with absolutely no problems at all. In fact, the last time I took it touring, it ended up being the donkey taking all of my mate's luggage, after his supposedly versatile Honda CB decided it didn't like having things strapped to its rear seat! No bother for little Enfield - it chugged along merrily.

It's important to remember the style of bike it is and factor that into expectations re performance. Accept she's not a Fire Blade & all is good 😊 The only complaint I have with the tyres is tramlining along poor surfaces but I don't have a vast experience of other bikes & tyres so others with more knowledge may know whether other brands of tyres would improve this.

I was going to say what Russ said, but in 3psi increments - narrow tyres are rather sensitive to pressures -especially two up

Try using your eyes to check gauges etc rather than bobbing your head up and down all the time. The less the camera moves the better the viewing experience.

This bike should be compared to a BSA B40, Norton model 50, Velocette MAC or original bullet 350. No point comparing it to a modern bike.

Live in NYC. Own a 1k CC BMW (among others). But… My RE Classic 350 is more fun through city streets and back country roads here in NY. Fast enough to slice through all the city congestion (in style), yet slow enough to smell and take in the scenery. Love that bike and will never sell it. P.S. Wouldn’t want to hit the US interstate with this bike, however. (That’s what the fast bikes are for.) Cheers. ✌️😎

Curious why the title said "worst bike ever"? You seem to like the bike just fine! I'm buying a 2022 350 Meteor this weekend for $2000, only 4k miles. Can't pass that deal up!

I had an Enfield thunderbird 350. It's more expensive to maintain than a cheap car. It's got no power. no comfort, no speed. It might not be the worst bike, but it's at least a runner-up.

If it would just be able to maintain 70 MPH /110 KPH up a hill and into a headwind then it would b safe to ride on the roads I ride on. Otherwise its just a toy for me in my situation. My wife's 300cc Honda scooter will easily do this and 1960s 250, 300 and 350 air cooled Hondas twins could do this easy. Granted these machines were twin cylinder. The TU250 Suzuki air cooled single cylinder did 75mph. I love everything else about the bike so it's a pity that it has this issue. Maybe one day. However Enfield is selling so many in Asia I doubt that they care too much.

Great use of the click bait there Jim, hammer that algorithm 😂 It's not a bike I could ever see myself owning but they obviously appeal to very many riders. The new Triumph 400's the Scrambler 400X in particular catches my eye, a little more grunt and presence 👍😀
