@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
Many thanks Ian. Not a silly question, I haven’t seen anything in the UK yet, but there are one or two racks starting to show up in India. It won’t be long till Hitchcock’s motorcycles or TEC bike parts will start producing things though. One thought, is that as the Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450 were designed alongside each other, some parts from the Himi might fit. The rear handrails on the Guerrilla look very similar to those on the Himi where the standard rack fits, but careful measurements will be needed to prove this. If you were to go down the India route, there is a chap called Raju Lax (can be found by fb messenger), who has a very good reputation for sourcing parts and despatching worldwide. I think, as new owners, we do need to be a bit patient regarding accessories availability here in the uk, as it does take a while for them to filter through. Hope this helps.

Congratulations Ian, well done mate.👍 it won't take long to rack up those 300 miles before the first service. The difference that extra 2,000 rpm makes is phenomenal. At 6,000 in top gear it's pulling 75mph which is more than enough but also it allows for much easier overtakes with the extra revs on hand to stretch its legs. I've also found that the engine has loosened up and isn't quite so prone to bogging down. Where have you managed to source a cover from to stop the speedo glare/reflection.🤔👍
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
Morning Jonathan, thank you. I hope to be out again today, adding a few more miles. I was talking to a chap at Ullswater (BMW rider), who suggested having a look at Speedo Angels. They are an adhesive film (best way I can describe it), which you stick onto your speedo. A bit like those you get for mobile phones. Speedo Angels do two types, one clear to protect the speedo face, the other has a matt finish, which is supposed to reduce glare. I ordered one last night, which will hopefully be here Monday. I will of course report back, when I have ridden in sunshine again. I thought at £10.99 it was worth a try. Listed for the Himi 450, so as they look to be the same speedo, it should fit ok.

Hi Ian, I’ve bought one in playa black also. I’ve done 900 miles on it, I love it apart from the front suspension which I find diabolical. It crashes over bumps and on single track roads with the light fly by wire throttle it’s hard to be smooth. Rear suspension is fine. I’m going to have to find out about some upgrades. I’ll let you know how I get on. Cheers Brenden 😊

@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
Morning Adrian, did you watch to the very end ? 🫣😉😂. I am surprised you are thinking of selling the ADV, you are really fond of it.
@adrianstrand11203 ай бұрын
@@ianhughesroyalenfield Ha ! I did post before the end, I knew you’d get one so congratulations 🥳 as for the Honda ADV it does everything perfectly but it’s just not tugging at my heartstrings if you know what I mean, I have all winter to decide now, looking forward to seeing you out on the Guerrilla, you’ll be keeping Clementine ?
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
😂, I guessed that’s what you did, I often do the same 😂. Clementine is safe, she won’t get ridden in iffy conditions, and will be put into hibernation in winter. Decisions decisions, good luck 🫣

Nice bike. Think I'd spray the exhaust black but otherwise it's a get on and go.

Funnily enough, I really like the exhaust as it is…….wouldn’t do for us all to have the same taste though 😉 Cheers

Hey Ian, if you spend anymore time on that Guerrilla saddle you may have to be surgically removed 😁. I've had mine (in Playa Black) for just over 2 weeks now and I've got about 700 miles on it. I did the first (300 mile) service last week, all quite straight forward so now I can take it up to 6000 rpm. To be honest though, I've only come close to 6000 rpm a couple of times. For the roads you and I like to ride, the bike delivers all you need between 3000 and 6000 rpm. I think it's a great 'riders' bike, the fuelling is a bit quirky at low revs so IMO not really a town bike (unlike the Hunter) but I'm getting used to it now and love it, a truly visceral experience ...... and it's so sure footed even on rough road surfaces!! I've just got to the bit of your video where you've revealed your new purchase ........ CONGRATULATIONS ...... 😁😁👍👍Enjoy, Phil (Somerset)
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
Hi Phil, thank you. The seat is comfortable enough to stay on it for long periods, so surgically removing may just be required 😂. I am looking forward to getting that first service done, the Guerrilla really doesn’t like being at 4K revs, so I have been creeping just over, and it’s fine. Yes, 6000 revs will be great, as you say, just playing with the torque between 3 and 6. Bloody brilliant, the tyres got quite hot on this ride. I will have made another 4 vids from yesterday’s ride…….peeps will be getting fed up 🫣😂 Thanks for your input 👍
@PAGallagher3 ай бұрын
@@ianhughesroyalenfield Yes, the seat is quite comfy, I can manage 2 hours or more without the need for a break. The vibes some people talk about are there sometimes but not really worthy of negative comments. Keep those Guerrilla videos coming thick and fast ....... I can't get enough 👍👍
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
Thanks Phil. I have a few vids waiting, there will be two a week for a while. Really just continuations of rides. Like making 3 from today, but they would be way too long if I made it one video. I can feel a bit of a tingle through the footpegs occasionally, usually when I am not quite in the right gear. I moved the gear lever up, now perfect for me. Have ordered a Speedo Angel matt anti glare tft cover (listed for the Himi 450 but pretty sure they are identical) to hopefully stop being blinded on the odd occasion the sun is out 😳. Meanwhile, I bloody love it.
@PAGallagher3 ай бұрын
@@ianhughesroyalenfield That tingle on the footpegs is definitely related to rpm but, I find that if my boot is sat squarely on the rubber inset, there's no vibe at all. Besides, when you're hooning around the twisties and going up and down that silky smooth box, I don't notice it at all. I love rev matching down the box, coming into a corner ....... she crackles and pops like giant 'Rice Crispies' 😁 The weather has turned a bit crap down here so haven't been out hooning for a couple of days ....... I'll have to sit back and enjoy one of your Guerrilla videos 👍☺

Given that this and the Speed 400 both put out about 40bhp, is this one worth it given the extra road tax every year for the 450cc engine? Great scenery; years since I went to the Lakes but when we went in my teens I directed my parents straight up Kirkstone as we were staying near Penrith and they wanted to see Windermere and Grasmere. Taking an 80s family car up the Struggle, that was fun.
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
😂 I bet it was fun 😂. As for the extra in tax, yes, to me it is worth it. The Speed just didn’t do it for me as the Guerrilla did, and sometimes you have to go with your heart. 😎

Which do you think is the better allround bike, Triumph 400 or Royal Enfield 450 ?
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
Well John….at the end of this video, I announce that this Guerrilla 450 is mine, so my answer will be biased. What suits me, may not suit others though, so it’s not an easy question to answer. The Triumph is a good bike, but not one for me. Others love it though ! I know this doesn’t really answer you question, but it’s the best I can do 😉 Cheers

@@ianhughesroyalenfield I haven't seen a Guerrilla up close yet, but I think my main issue is the finish Triumph looks classy, Guerrilla paint jobs make them look like kids monkey bikes think on that reason alone I would find it hard to live with one
@smallbikesrool95813 ай бұрын
The bike looks nice, but the gap between the forks and frame is a bit ugly. I would spend the same money on a low milage second hand ducati 800cc scrambler.

I ride a Moto Guzzi V7 (2022 plate Ian) I have just seen My 1st Enfield Guerrilla 450 at the west End Cafe, Llandovery last week same colour looked great! If Enfield had released the Hymie or the Guerrilla or CF Moto with their 450, I would have or might have, made a different choice a year earlier, but I am happy with the V7. Went to do the Kirkstone Pass a few years ago, missed out due to road maintenance or pot hole rebuilding 🤣🤣The last time I went on the ferry was in the late 1970's on a Suzuki X7, yes a very long time ago when I lived in East Anglia. I had typed my comments before you finished the layby stop but GREAT CHOOSE love it!
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
Thank you. The Guzzi V7 is a good bike, though I haven’t ridden one. In fact the only Guzzi I have ridden, was a MK1 Le Mans back in the 80’s 😂. As for the Kirkstone closures. They were a real pain for everyone, though I guess the works needed to be done. If you Google it, they did some major works on culvert and walling repairs, plus the wood covered Armco. Hopefully you will have a look at tomorrow’s release, the ride back over 😉. That was a good trip on a X7, respect ✊😉

Also a Ducati scrambler 400 is only about three and a half grand almost new. Awesome vids by the way.
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
Just had a look on eBay, (which I did last time you left a similar comment) . The cheapest Ducati scrambler 400 I could find, is a 2017 (not exactly almost new), with 5284 miles at £3795. A 2019 (5 yr old) Ducati Scrambler 400 with 6100 miles on the clock is £4690. A 2022 Ducati Scrambler 800 with 3352 miles is £6795. Don’t know where you are getting your prices from ! Besides which, the service cost on the Ducati will be more expensive, plus the dreaded belt change. Also, something to consider, not everyone likes modern Ducati motorcycles, me included. Cheers
