Thanks William. Definitely takes me back to those days, I had a RD400E, rode it like an idiot 🤦♂️. You know my thoughts, whether it is good for long distance work, only time will tell, but certainly lighter than the NC. At the price, buy the Guerrilla as a stablemate, and ween yourself off the NC 😂

So, Ian, I've watched a couple of other videos about the Guerrilla, with a slightly jaundiced eye, I admit, because I love my air-cooled Classic 350, and I'm just slightly uncomfortable with the thought of RE moving into water-cooled territory - perhaps modernizing a bit too much, ya know? Still... Even though the engine, radiator, and exhaust on this bike look ugly (to my eye), your effusive, unbridled joy expressed while riding it makes me think that I should add one to the shed when it is available here in the USA. No other review that I've watched had me thinking like that. Thusly, Royal Enfield should spot you one. I would bet that you've sold more than a few of them for them with that review. Thank you for the video! FG Rides in Pennsylvania, USA

Thanks for this lovely comment. Roger from the shop, rang me yesterday, to say that the uk marketing team had watched my video on the office television, and thought it was really good, so much so, they contacted him………they haven’t contacted me yet to have a “long term” demo bike, which is a shame 🙄. I think the manufacturers only work with creators who have 10k plus subscribers, though I think they are missing a trick, as those guys only ride them a couple of times and produce a couple of vids at the most. Hey-ho, I will just keep doing what I’m doing. Thank you.

looks like you had a great time Ian! Love the hidden dip 😳 - Uncle Stu would not approve of you having such fun, although I thought I heard a Stu-ism "but you can make use of it all" 😝😉. I have to say, purely circumstantially but none the less it's what I've seen, most RE owners are at the upper echelons of the age spectrum reliving their and their fathers youth. Different case in their domestic market perhaps.
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
Thanks ice. The camera really doesn’t show the severity of the hidden dip. When I rode the Himi 450 (2nd video), I forgot it was there, which made me giggle as I went over it a bit quick 😂. Couldn’t really tell you if uncle Stu came out with that, as I have pretty much stopped watching the self important p***k ! Yes, most of us RE owners have been round the clock a bit, but I think this would attract a younger rider, especially in India, but as you know, it is too much of a pain in the rear (and wallet) for many of our youth’s to be bothered over here sadly. I know I was just cruising at 70mph on the motorway in the video, but I did whip it up to about 85mph on the section I edited out, it is also rock stable at those speeds. It’s fun in the twisties, copes with faster moving traffic, like no other Enfield has (with the exception of the Himi 450). Handles superbly considering our awful roads. Well Malcolm, I only went and bought a Guerrilla, now in the early stages of running in, but thoroughly enjoying it. I also rode the Speed 400, which was owned by a subscriber. It only had 77 miles on it, so couldn’t give it any, but although it was a nice bike, it didn’t grab me like the Guerrilla did. If you have a look at my latest vids, you will get an idea of how it goes up in the Lakes, even at running in speeds 😎 Good luck, and keep me in the loop 😉

Great video Ian but I still can't quite work out whether you liked the Guerrilla or not .....😁😁😁😁As I was watching your video, I noticed that I was rapidly turning green ....... with envy 😊I'm eagerly awaiting a call from my dealer to say they've received a demo Guerrilla, any day now I hope. I really like the look of this machine and even though it's water cooled they've still managed to make that engine look a bit 60s/70s. I too rode the new Himy, a few weeks ago, and was very impressed, especially the pull from that engine and the seamless transmission ....... much like my Hntr 350. By the way, your dad has good taste, I never owned one but always fancied a BSA Shooting Star or Victor ........ a lovely 440/500 single! I'd have one today but now RE have brought out the Guerrilla 450, I need look no further 👍👍Again, great review along the sorts of roads I love. Cheers, Phil (Somerset)
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
Hi Phil, I tried not to make it too obvious, but failed miserably 😂. I thought the Himi 450 was great, but preferred everything about the Guerrilla. The power delivery/grunt was more apparent, possibly down to the different gearing due to the smaller wheels and different sprockets. Whatever it is, it makes the Guerrilla so much fun. Still need to make sure you are in the right gear going into the bend then power out. Proper old school riding, as opposed to just leaving it in one gear…….damn it was good. See, I can’t even shut up about in the comments 🫣😂 Dad sold the Shooting Star when I was on the way, an unplanned inconvenience 🤦♂️😂
@PAGallagher3 ай бұрын
@@ianhughesroyalenfield You seem like a nice guy, Ian, but I'd have been tempted to have you adopted and buy another Shooting Star, fair play to your dad though! 😆You can probably tell, I don't have kids 😂😂Talking of grunt, when I test rode the Himi, as you powered out of a village into a 60, it kind of reminded me of something like a big BSA single ....... absolutely fabulous!!! Like you, I've had a few bikes including a Hayabusa and a Kwak ZZR1400 and I can say that for real world roads bigger is certainly not necessarily better. Happy riding Ian and lets hope you soon receive an unexpected cheque, through the post, for £5,050 😁😁

@PAGallagher that made me laugh 😂 I have always told my dad that I would have happily spent my baby years in a bottom drawer, but his dreams live on in me. When I was 16, he helped me to buy a Suzuki AP50, much to my mother’s horror…..and that’s when it all started. Dad is 89 this year, and sadly gets a bit confused, but he was pleased when I took the Guerrilla to show him. He said he preferred the new BSA Goldstar (I took that to show him when in a test ride too). My last “big” bike was a Yamaha Tracer 900, fantastic engine, excellent handling, but bloody boring, no character at all. Happier riding my Classic 350, and would be even happier if that cheque came through 😉😂 Cheers
@PAGallagher3 ай бұрын
@@ianhughesroyalenfield Ah yes, the AP50, the motorbike that was also unconvincingly pretending to be a moped ...... brilliant idea! My first bike was a BSA C15, I thought it was fantastic ........ especially after a push bike 😊Coincidentally, I currently have an XSR 900 (2020) have to admit I do like it in it's black livery with gold wheels but realistically the engine is too much for most roads as you'll know. Similarly, I really enjoy just blatting around the B roads and lanes on the Hntr ....... 20 BHP seems to be enough for most situations but 40BHP would be good, if you know what I mean? 😁😁👍👍 Keep your eye on that letterbox ....... 😊
@ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
@PAGallagher I like the styling of the XSR, and that triple engine sounds awesome with a “naughty” exhaust. Of course you are right though, the 40hp Guerrilla is more than enough for today’s roads, especially when we prefer to ride the back lanes, than the manic A roads. Secretly I have added a “Thanks” button to my channel now that I qualify for it, but I haven’t mentioned it, as I don’t want people to think I am begging 😂. I am trying to save my KZbin earnings for the deposit, it may take a while 🙄😂

Morning Arthur. Yes, it can easily be ridden sedately, and would be pure joy to just bimble around the lanes. As for a comparison, the Guerrilla is more fun than the Interceptor, and just as capable. @ianhughesroyalenfield3 ай бұрын
Thanks. It was long because it was a long ride. Mainly because I was test riding it for me, I just brought you guys along for the ride 😉 The Guerrilla is quite high revving, you need to be in the right gear for the circumstances if that makes sense. Basically, it won’t like 30mph in 6th gear, nor 5th for that matter, it will bog down, meaning you would have to drop down a gear or two for the bike to be comfortable. I made reference to early 80’s bikes, as you had to ride them like that too, you have to work the gears. It’s not a bike to just leave in 5th or 6th and bimble along at low revs, so maybe not the bike for you. This is just my opinion, you really need to take one out, to see what you think. Hope this helps.

Calculating from figures given by RE on Google search, I reckon, estimating a bit under what they claim, about 192 miles per tank. Not great, but we are fortunate enough to have a few petrol stations scattered about. Just need to brim it every time to maximise it. Yes the off set clock used to bug me too, but not so much anymore. The base model has an analog speedo, with tripper next to it (unsure if that is a standard fitment though, so don’t quote me on it). The dealer, Roger, has said I can take it out again, all day if needed, so will probably have a look at the mpg then. 👍 Though like I said in the video, it doesn’t bother me, after about 100 miles my knackered body is ready for a break, so a petrol station would be the ideal place 😉

If they could get a sneaky way of disguising the liquid cooling (better than the BSA) maybe they could make a 450 cc Classic? Or, if they kept it air-cooled, even a 525cc old-school engine for a classic? It would be unfair for me to post an opinion of two up plus luggage, when I haven’t ridden this way, it would just be a guess. Perhaps have a look on a Facebook (or similar) group and ask the question. Rear racks and pannier brackets aren’t available yet here in the uk, though some owners are buying from India. If pushed for an answer, you can tour on anything, but I would suggest there are better bikes out there for the job. Even the Himalayan 450, which shares the same engine and other components, but the ecu is mapped differently……obviously the Himi 450 stands taller, so if I was you, I would take a test ride on both, preferably two up, to give you an idea.
