Hello mates, it was long time pending, considering it was recorded almost a month back but KTM kept me engaged enough to not even spare time to edit this, but finally somehow edited first part, next one will include greasing and re assembly, unfortunately the sound quality is bad on that one. I beg your pardon on that please, a lot of static can be heard. but basic idea is to grease all and everything as we put them together. Cheers:)

Yet again another top quality and informative video. This one goes into the folder marked maintenance, soon I will be able to totally strip down and fix/maintain my bike. All thanks to you taking the time to show people that it can be done even at the side of the road. Re using zip ties...... brilliant. Looking forward to reassembly. Cheers

Hey, I really like your content. Based on your contribution I booked Himalayan bs6.That will be first bike on my garage.Could you make a maintenance chart video based on 500km, 5000km, 10,000km? Why Himalayan need so maintenance? I think this bike is not pocket friendly.
@leuheanrede
@leuheanrede 4 жыл бұрын
Hmm interesting:) But first, congrats :D. Now let me be honest. Naah, it does not need that much maintenance, I mean, I can't say it does, I do same to all my rides I own and have owned, an it just helps me to take them long long miles, so maybe I am overdoing it, but it's just me discussing DIYs to elongate the replacement of wearable part, I am sure regular service at authorized svc will still see many miles ;) Cheers :D

@farawayvlogs
@farawayvlogs 3 жыл бұрын
Hey bro ! If we remove the spindle first, then can the dust seals and centre rod be removed without dis-assembling the whole swing arm ? I mean can those roller bearing where the spindle goes be lubricated independently without disturbing the swing arm setup ?
@leuheanrede
@leuheanrede 3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, its doable, the wheel would atleast have to come out or you need someone else to help you hold it in place so the swing arm is rightly aligned once you put the spindle back in. the place might be confined to properly work on to grease the bearings and remember you need to grease the link too at some point. Its doable but might get a bit tedious. best would be to remove rear wheel, open the link, open spindle and remove the complete assembly and grease them all at once, much easier that way, cheers :)

1. Is this operation the solution to rear suspension creaking? Or is it just the rear suspension linkage that creaks? 2. Is it necessary to remove the rear wheel to get the swingarm off? My bike is new, so dirt and rust presumably are not issues here. I do not want to add unnecessary steps to this job. Rear suspension on my new Himalayan has started creaking after only 2000 miles (3000km) of light riding - barely broken in. If you only have to do this operation every 10,000km, but I've got creaking at 3000km, then I can only conclude that whoever put my bike together at RE did a sloppy job greasing these parts. I am not thrilled with Royal Enfield right now.
@turk59
@turk59 Жыл бұрын
My creaking was caused by the pivot shaft being 1.5mm shorter than the swing arm width. I added two 1mm shims to lengthen the pivot shaft.
