Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 oil change at 4000km for Shell Advance 4T Ultra 15W50 [2024]

To provide best care I can give to the engine, I change the oil and filter at 4000km (2000km after running in period was finished). I decided to check how 15W50 Shell Advance 4T Ultra will handle it in terms of gear changes. As it's my first air/oil cooled motorcycle I will control the oil color and I plan to change it after 3.000km-4.000km. When ODO will show 10.000km I will do a valve clearance adjustment and change spark plugs, I already bought a genuine head cover gasket.

HI! why do you use the 15w50 grade and not the 10w50 recommended by Royal Enfield?

Because I trust ShellAdvance and 10W50 is unavailable in shell’s offer. Now I have Fuchs Silkolene Pro 10w50.

Right, but I don’t rode in a winter so second part „50” is the same, this defines oil’s high temp characteristics. I will use Fuchs Silkolene Pro XP 10W50 unless Shell’s official distributor will make again an extra low price, because it’s a good value for money.
