In late 2020, the largest-ever deployment of Royal Navy ships took place in Cyprus, with more than 1,000 sailors and Royal Marines testing and developing new ways of responding to crises.
As part of Littoral Response Group (Experimentation) (LRG(X)), personnel used the waters, shores and exercise areas of the island to see how drones, autonomous equipment, new technology and kit can transform the way Royal Marines operate.
We were given special access to parts of the exercise, from which elements of what personnel have been trying out could be incorporated into the Future Commando Force.

Great clip. Respect to the filming and editing, finally some shots at night that show some reality. It is also refreshing to hear an informed presenter rather than the usual stuff you hear people ask the military “are you guys missing home”. A great piece of work by all involved. The commandos getting the tone and image spot on.

The Canadian C8 Colt Carbine rifle has been issued to the Royal Marines of 43 Commando Fleet Protection Group, part of 3 Commando Brigade. ... However, other Special Forces units already use other weapons, including the C8 Carbine. "The SA-80 is a highly capable weapon which remains the individual infantry weapon of choice across the armed forces." "The small procurement of C8 rifles is for a specialist role performed by the Royal Marines in 43 Commando.

The Royal Marines keep making their career recruiters’ jobs a lot more easier with these inside videos that show what the lads kinda get exposed to, and what opportunities they’d have the chances to work on if they enlist/commission with the Marines. What about the Paras? They were always touted as the hardest & toughest lot in the non-SF ranks, why aren’t they getting this amount of training or modern tech to showcase their craft, & bring in more candidates to their fold, or are they? but the info is being kept confidential? Who’d know.

I admire the narrators attempt to make this all seem so exciting, and cool, but there's no need to, the Royal Marines are the baddest, best trained second tier specialist, trained to do what ever's needed to succeed, o sat second tier because obviously the SAS and SBS are tier one, and tye Royal Marines go in hard and straight using navy assets and Intel, because they're part of the RN and have been for over 300yrs, the first real marines in the world, born out of having to have soldiers on board, Redcoats, or was it seen by a captain to whom was transporting English soldiers, was attacked or attacked the Spanish or French, and saw what a useful tool a soldier was onboard a Ship, so the Royal Marines were born. You always need people on Naval surface vessels that can fight on land, that's why there's always a news fir amphibious assaults forces like the Socialist Royal Marines. You e gotta love em. I love everything about being an Englishman, within the UK.

that kind of money or firepower, you mean...?the SCAR hold's two diff size rounds but it does jam a lot as i have read over the years and to answer your question the commandos get to use what ever weapon the want and will also use what the enemy has if they need to...thats very very common for ANY SF/SOF's AND Commandos to use a LOT of different weapons, and that is not hidden from the public its out there you can find the info im talking about

@heleenstander2361
@heleenstander2361 3 жыл бұрын
Bayonets are a horrible idea, but I see where you're coming from. The reason why it's a bad idea, is because it extends the weapon's length in a whole, which leads to troubles with room clearing, especially on ships where the spaces are tight and quite crowded. And the last thing you won't want to do, is poke one of your buddies' with that knife.

So is this the UK's answer to the Navy Seals?
@_F8.
@_F8. 3 жыл бұрын
So the navy seals are more like the US's answer to the SBS. (special boat service) The Royal Marine Commandos are an Elite Force but would sit just under Special Forces. Think how US Rangers sit behind Delta. Although there's also Royal Marine Commandos Pathfinders, who are a Special Forces group that could also compare to Navy Seals, just to confuse things. Delta Force is a copy of the SAS, where as we don't really have anything comparable to Rangers or Green Beret's to my knowledge.

DEVGRU was the US's answer to SBS, There no other unit in the British military which compares to the job spec of NAVY SEALS (Only Fleet Diving Unit 1 would technically compare to regular SEALs in a sense but they always work in support compacity to UKSF and not independently) (Although 47 Commando would be a direct comparison to SWCCs from NSWC and work hand in hand with NAVY SEALs) until 3rd commando brigade brings back underwater based dive training and opsec. The US's answer to 3rd Commando brigade is the Marine Raider Regiment, 75th Ranger Regiment, US ARMY Special Forces (All can trace their lineage and training to either the commando's themselves or built from the ideas instilled from the commandos), Mountain leaders from the Royal Marines are the UK answer to Force Recon though. Although it should be noted that both BUD/s the selection course to become a SEAL and Potential commando selection course both have the exact same fitness standards and the finishing the overall Royal Marine commando course and BUD/s as a whole both have similar drop out rates at 75-85 percent on average for both.
