No one would believe in the early part of the 21st century a scouser would be teaching thousands of middle aged men how to make edm/prog/rock/blues hybrid music on iPads yet still they come....... and I for one am very grateful....cheers Doug.

Thanks for this. I’ve been laid up with health problems aside from a chronic problem that has left me on disability. This video and soundtestroom in general has helped me focus on something that I’ve always loved, but have only worked at sporadically. I’m back to jamming with Cubasis, Aria, & GarageBand in attempting to record and mix using just an iPad & iPhone. I’ll hit Patreon when I’m able to divert a few bucks for supporting what y’all do. In my case I can resolutely state that an old guy who spend too much time in bed can jam like he’s 15 again. Cool beans indeed!

For another spooky moment I thought you'd been spying on me by creating videos based on what I'm looking at right now, then I realised (again) that I searched your back catalogue for what I was doing! I bought the rozeta set a while ago and have only just started to look at it (too many apps). Cheers Doug. Lee

Quite eye opening. Thank you for the video. Which sound card are you using? Which one do you recommend for iPad ? I also own an Air 2. Do you feel lack of processing power sometimes?

Thanks for the video. What is the storage space size of your iPad.? Would you recommend a 64 GB along with a Flash Storage option, for cost cutting.

so solved the first problem but the rhythm and xox is still play cymbals instead of bass drum… any help would be greatly appreciated
@TheSoundTestRoom2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ross, you need to tap on the little icon on the left hand side of either XOX or Rhythm, it’s the one that has the little Star inside a circle. This opens up your midi mappings for several drum machines and it also lets you set up your own, but most likely selecting General Midi will do the trick, hope this helps

Thanks for tutorial. Is there any way to use Rozeta inside Modstep as in Cubasis or not? I've tried, but can't figure out is it possible or not. Thank you again.
@TheSoundTestRoom6 жыл бұрын
No, it’s impossible to use Rozeta in Modstep at the moment, the actual host app has to be specifically adapted to use midi effects, so far only AUM and Cubasis can do this

Hey! When I try this I can't get any classic machine to play LT or HT, only MT. Any ideas? Where is the assignments Classic Machines use listed?

TheRealWinsletFan you have to buy it ( in app)

Great video, very helpful! Do you have BeatMaker (3) so you can test if it works just as well in that? I'd be really grateful for that, so I'll know whether I'd waste my money or not buying that cool sequencer :)
@TheSoundTestRoom6 жыл бұрын
Hi, Rozeta doesn’t work with BM3 yet, it only works with AUM and Cubasis at the moment but I’m sure BM3 will implement MIDI EFFECTS at some point
@månemannmånemann6 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! I searched for it and found this update info from Beat Maker. Doesn't it sound like they've added it, or am I confusing it with something else? Quote: "Support of AUv3 MIDI plugins. Now, BeatMaker 3 will create virtual input MIDI devices for each AUv3 that supports MIDI out. This way, you can route MIDI messages to other plugins and the sampler." Here's the link: cdm.link/newswires/beatmaker-3-0-8-arrives-with-support-of-auv3-midi-plugins-and-so-much-more/
@REkzkaRZ5 жыл бұрын
I don't see why you'd remove the Midi sources after recording -- why record the Midi notes at all? Are the plugins using essential RAM resources that you want to have free when you build out other areas of the song?
@TheSoundTestRoom5 жыл бұрын
You’re exactly right, not enough power to keep all the midi

Can this work in Abelton?
@StefanBoeykens4 жыл бұрын
If you route midi from iPad to Ableton, assumably. I’ve been successful routing MIDI from PolyStepArp Unit from my iPad to Ableton via a USB cable, but network should work as well.

Hi Doug. Is Rozeta heavy on the cpu? I use a ipad 10.5 pro. Thanks.
@TheSoundTestRoom6 жыл бұрын
P. L Hi, no it’s great on CPU, I'm still using the old iPad Air 2 and I can run loads of them, on a 10.5 Pro your good for even the heavy duty synths like LayR, Syntronik, Zeeon etc. Your main CPU usage actually comes fro the synths you use, ROZETA itself is very low impact
@velanche6 жыл бұрын
Bummer that they don’t show up as AU extensions in Garageband. I recorded a test track, and then tried adding the plugin. Alas, the Rozeta plugins aren’t among the choices. Boo!
