The soundtracks for the Risk of Rain games are absolutely out of this world in basically every aspect. There are technically 3 games but the 3rd game is a remake of the original with remastered soundtrack+additions. Each game is in the rogue-like genre which features semi-randomized items, stages with unique tracks, and enemies (including special bosses with unique tracks that play while you fight them) to fight through. It's an incredibly fast-paced and chaotic slice of fun that grows in challenge the longer you play, which is why the each track grows in intensity with more layers and variations as they go on. I highly recommend checking out more stuff from the RoR franchise.

Best $6 I ever spent was for ROR2, and $8 for the Void thing DLC/expansion. 800+ hours spent on that game.

Chris Christodoulou also guest composed the track "New Jerusalem" for The Talos Principle 2. Talos 2's main composer is Damjan Mravunac, who guest composed on the ROR remake.

From someone who has a few thousand hours playing this game, you absolutely need to listen to …con lentitud pedirosa and “The Rain Formerly Known as Purple” from RoR2. My two personal favorites from this whole OST

My favorite part of this track is that that "hook" just about never sounds exactly the same

Some recommendations from this same game: "con lentitud poderosa" "Antarctic Oscillation" "The Rain Formerly Known as Purple". The first is so downright amazing that the developers built a level around the song instead of the other way around - and you may hear more than a hint of Chopin in the beginning. The second has 5:7 polyrhythms (among others) and is the hardest 7/4 bop I've heard. The third is probably the most popular song from the game, and it's truly a vibe.

I think the best part of Risk of Rain's soundtrack flow is how the intensity of the song usually starts lower, and as time goes on it gets stronger and stronger until it's going all-out in something usually heavier but melancholic, and it just feels so good. Especially with how each round in the game gets more and more intense with sound, roughly timed equally with how dangerous it's getting. If you hear the full track, things are probably looking tough.

I was wondering if you could react to the Fatalis theme from Monster Hunter World Icebourne, the vid is 9 minutes 38 seconds long. The Monster Hunter franchise has quite a few great soundtracks for their respective bosses.
