Polite feedback: azraelhobbes is _very_ difficult to hear under the game audio. I don't know if this gets addressed later in the run, but it's definitely an issue in the earlier part of the run.

I think it does, they mention audio levels being adjusted and I don't have trouble hearing anyone for most of the video.

It occurs to me that Lavos didn't travel through space for very long, considering how much heat it hadn't lost to radiation by the time it landed.

That is potentially concerning, since that would mean another planet within Chrono Trigger's solar system was also hit with a Lavos of its own. It's possible that this Lavos isn't the only one coming around...

To give an actual anwser, while it does happen that some people are simply looking to find speedrunnable games to have records on them, it's pretty rare. Speedrunners usually love the games they speedrun. I wouldn't call it a necessity but in a way, speedrunning is about how much you can love a game, delving into it, searching for clues about it, finding easter eggs nobody found for years, finding new gimmics, etc. There's nothing wrong speedrunning a game you dislike / aren't a fan of, but considering you might replay said games hundreds of time, for thousands of hours, I think you might fet depressed after some time xD.
