One thing that confuses me, is how the RPT bit would grip the rounded bolt, when the normal Hex socket would just spin freely. The video itself said the RPT sockets are not "oversized", so that doesnt make any sense how it would work in the situation you provided. Not to mention, the "normal" Hex socket looked physically smaller than the RPT. It looked more like a 5mm or 4.5mm, rather than a 6mm Im not saying the RPT Hex sockets dont work when used as a typical Hex socket, but the "extraction" demonstration makes zero sense when you think about it.

There are a few factors at play here. RPT Bits are not oversized and any 6mm RPT will fit a 6mm hex without any issue. The RPT fit in a good/ new fastener will likely be more snug than most other brands. We hear this a lot from GripEdge users. This allows it to lock into place on a stripped-out fastener where the wiggle room on a traditional bit misses the corners and spins freely. The videos don't even do justice to how well they perform.
