My daily driver is the Connie Taurus, it does everything I need it to, but it needs some work. I wish they would delete 50% of the struts so I can actually see what's in front of me, and the interior needs a full rework. Love my Connie but the gold pass upgrade can't come fast enough.

IMO make a Connie MkII and base it off the Zeus floor plan, but keep the elevator for both cargo and personnel, along with the 4 rear thrusters W/landing gear on the rear bottom sliding thrusters when landing, plus keep the size 5 mounts. Keep the 2 turrets top/gun & bottom/tractor (remote) In this way you wouldn't need the front landing gear getting in the way of the tractor beam. It would look something like the Galaxy crossed with the Connies.

Note: per page 15 of the constellation series brochure the phoenix is supposed to have a automated point defense turret, that is the phoenixes unique feature. unique features by constellation model taurus - extra cargo space and tractor beam Andromeda - extra manned turret and extra missiles Aquila - ursa rover and scanner Phoenix - luxury mostly interior upgrades and point defense turret. hope this helps y'all decide which variant to get.

Connie An 16:04 dromeda was my original pledge back in the day. It's the one ship I'll never melt or upgrade. If they do a MKII they better let me trade it in straight across. I've been waiting on a Gold Pass for a long time now. I also have the Taurus.

My biggest complaint about the Constellation series is the bug that causes ships with engines in pods to not have their engines replaced when repairing a missing pod. It's pretty rough when you manage to limp home only to find out that you're stuck with only two engines till the next server reset.

The ONLY thing that irks me about the Taurus is that the cargo lift is juuuuuust tight enough to not let you get out of a Nursa when it's in the bay from the side entrace. Other than that, AMAZING ship for the money, especially if you got it for the original $150 price (Or less with CCUs!).

Honestly, I really hate the random craggy triangles everywhere look of the Constellations. They would look SO much better if they smoothed out the crags and random flanges, especially around the engines, and skinned them like the Zeus or Galaxy. I used to dislike the weird precarious landing configuration too. Until I realized how wonderful that design is for sneaking the ship into tight landing spots around bunkers. This ship has a tiny ground footprint. I can almost always park right near the bunker ramp. But damn these are high functioning ships. I had to sacrifice my beloved Freelancer and upgrade to a Taurus. So much capability. It's like a Swiss Army Knife.

well, as to the skin of the Connies... You just have to look at the RSI logos on the ship sides to see how they suddenly switch to simply mirrored images. Detail work? At some point, perhaps.

The 1st in-game ship I got was the Andromeda. I started saving up to buy one as I like the space and cargo. When someone reminded me to look at the Taurus. I'm glad I did as I now have this as my daily drive

The Phoenix does have the piano and it's in-game. It's a "flair" item. Maybe got it since it was my first play pack back 11 years ago now, but somehow I do have it and I can put it in there and it works (only plays Moonlight Sonata). It is not in the same location as the hot tub presumably would be, so arguably it can have both, not either/or. It pretty much goes where that conference table is near the bar in your video. I've had the Taurus as a loaner in the last patch because the Phoenix cargo grid didn't work, but that's fixed in the current PTU so should be live very soon and I've been playing in the PTU lately and I'm solidly good using the Phoenix instead of the Taurus. Just something about it this way that speaks to me, I guess, and I'm ok losing that extra cargo space. I was torn to switch it to an Aquila back in the early days when we just bought a Connie and then they let us choose the variant, but I did get a Carrack some months later when it was announced so I think I'll be happy with that for the role the Aquila would have been in.

I'm really enjoying it with the new cargo hauling missions. Gives me a break from endless bunkers! And yes, it really needs a rework and get the damn table fixed! 🙂

Same! I have the chance to buy back the Taurus I purchased in 2014 when I couldn’t even fly it! It also comes with 13 items. I can melt down almost enough items to get it back again. I’m waiting until engineering comes in though as I might have to melt my Carrack anyway.

Taurus is just the all round best ship in the game -Good cargo capacity -Can solo multiple group ERT's/Vaughn missions -Multicrew -Can carry any vehicle you can spawn at an outpost except the C8R - only 8 mil If my game glitched and I got stuck with only one ship, I'm struggling to think of anything I'd rather be stuck with than a Taurus.

The MSR will end up seriously contesting the Taurus for that mid-range cargo role. It will have the speed and Maneuverability advantage while the Taurus will have the toughness and DPS advantage. But I think you know which one will win lol

Connie is what got me interested in the game. If the Connie is modular, I would love if they made the snub bay a modular docking thing so that different add on ships could be used, like Roc variant, drone bay or new types of parasite ships (marketing opportunity)

The valkyrie needs gold pass check. It's a great ship capable of multiple roles. Drop ship, exploration, even cargo or passenger runs. Very useful

I’ve been using a Taurus alongside my Corsair to loot ERTs, with Attrition-5 to take on the heavy ships in two fire groups, so once you crack the rear shield of an NPC 600i or Corsair you can soft death them without blowing them up. In 3.24.2 the Connies have gotten a small rework, with an engineering station, a working table, and the jacuzzi in the Phoenix. My thoughts on gold standard Connies? Cockpit and crew area gets an update with the ‘Zeus’ parts kit, with the turrets are now remote twin S3 like the 400i. This will free up the central cockpit area so the crew quarters can be expanded for suit lockers.

I have the Phoenix and think they should try an make it about 3 to 5m longer to add a bath/toilet room and a airlock on the side for VIP onboarding and offboarding

Phoenix carries 80 scu not 96 scu, cargo only snaps 2 high instead of 3, but it has one exta row for the grid, because the lift is wider than other Constellation versions. And, for many patches now the grid has been broken XD Ursa and Lynx still fit.

I have always loved my Taurus, but in 4.0, I am seeing problems with stacking cargo boxes. I can't actually get 174 SCU in there. For middling cargo runs, I am going to stick with the Starlancer max. But I am going to upgrade my Taurus to an Andromeda, I think. All those missles! Plus, the snub to reinforce two decent turrets. I also like the VTOL possibilities.

Taurus is the perfect med size cargo and daily driver ship. The facilities are utter garbage and to paraphrase Scooter "the Drakest not Drake ship" with it's "porta potty right next to the floor table" lol I absolutely love the Taurus for it's versatility and those four S5's. Unless they add a military command center module for the phoenix with a med bed. I don't see if it ever getting to solid 9. Currently I have LTI on 3/4 with the aquila left behind. No disagreements on where it stands. I may end up upgrading the andro for a galaxy. That's only because I can have 2 more size 5s on target.

The friend who invited me to the Kickstarter back in 2012 has had a Connie Andromeda, and it's a great-looking, iconic ship, but I'm an Origin fan myself. Taurus is only a 10 in current patch, its not going to benefit from any of the Connie lineups systems tbat are yet to come online. It lacks superior maesrome materials, wont be well armored, lacks the Phoenix and Andromeda's point defense turrets, and lacks a dedicated snub. It is sadly kind of like the Corsair, in the best state it will ever be in Right Now thanks to its only unique feature (the best tractor beam in the whole game) already having been implemented. Even after the rework, the Taurus stands to benefit less than any other Constellation series ship. For me, I judge as much aboit what is stated to come as already available, for those reasons, i would only rate it a 8/10. Connie Phoenix (proud Emerald owner) - 9/10 - Best command station and most livable ship Connie Andromeda - 10/10 - best value ship, can do everything solo, and only increases in effectivness the more crew you add Connie Taurus - 8/10 - best solo-flyer friendly connie Connie Aquilla - 7/10 - its still a Connie.... but honestly this one needs a hollistic ground up rework given what Exploration has become. Best view. Marginally.

I love connies but for the rear end landing gear - you have to be careful not to nose forward like on the herc. And the internal lighting is a pain. Oh, and the cockpit struts can get lost!

While there are several ships that are in dire need of a rework, the venerable Connie series is indeed in my personal top five (but also looking at the poor Carrack who has not a single game loop at the moment as not even the medical bed will work). The cargo grid is... wonky at best, un-/loading a Taurus with the turret can be iffy with the ship bound to explode if the containers packed as intended cannot get past the hull and begin wobbling against the ship while You have to manually unload from the back - or there is no cargo grid at all (Phoenix variant at the very least). But hey, we got the table working, now - and there will be a nerf of the ship weapons in some way soon to bring them in line with the other ships of the size class (probably 4*S4 instead of 4*S5s - or a similarly silly arrangement as the poor Corsair with the split turret/main guns on a co-pilot seat now).

Weeelllll.... if that's your standard you might have some issues. I would not be surprised if the Connies get a similar treatment. That being said we are playing a game fully in Alpha and "nerfs" at this point seem to be more about some quick, gross (in the sense of large rather than "icky"), change to quickly bring something in line with minimal effort. I think we will see many, many more changes to ships as more functionality comes on line (maybe that Corsair will have easier Engineering than the Connies, for example, so there may be many more trade-offs to come) and certainly nothing is truly "balanced" right now compared to whatever their final balance polish will look like when things go live. If anything I see ships as something to get because there is something you like about the ship and how it's described as for use rather than the meta of what guns get controlled from where (for now). Once we are closer to live THEN it's worth looking at the meta-stats if that's your thing to really see where the balance lies for what you might like.
