Yeah, I don't see many new Highland M3s where I live in the UK. Might be because there are so many more SUV type cars available now and Brits do prefer anything with a hatchback over saloons? Or, it might be the lack of stalks in a market with lots of roundabouts? I don't care what people say about getting used to it, it's not easier or better for the driver which is why other manufacturers are not deleting stalks !!

Have had the Highland for several months now, and going back to anything with stalks is going to seem very clunky and outdated. Going around round-abouts did take a while to get used to, but now it's second nature. Somehow it's much more elegant. Like having a software keyboard on a phone instead of a tiny fiddly physical one. I think the issue of changing direction quickly during a 3 point turn in the middle of busy street is more of an issue. We live on such a street and have to do a 3 point turn at least once a day to get going. But from what I see in this video it works, but perhaps not so slick yet. Hopefully that will improve. None-the-less, I'm looking forward to the update 🙂

I find the autoshift to be a bit useless to be honest. The autoshift out of park is pretty decent, but for the regular autoshift to do a 3 point turn or reverse into a parking spot, you have to fully stop, foot on brake, then turn the wheel about 180⁰ and then it activates. I find it far quicker to swipe the screen which I do while moving at 1-3mph anyway. Nice feature I guess but overall way slower and actually less convenient than doing it yourself.

Timely video, my 2019 Model 3 AWD updated this morning. The rear cross traffic warning is probably the most useful, especially given my driveway. Set destination charge is useful, as is the ability to add stops to a navigation route. The passenger seat adjustment doesn't look finished to me, why can't I adjust the forward/ back and incline separately? Not interested in games. I have stalks so performing a 3-point turn is easy. It looks to me as if Tesla removed the stalks, presumably because Musk decided they are not required for FSD, and then have had to try to negate the resulting loss of functionality with a software bodge, which looks as if it might actually makes things worse in some situations.

Important is that the feature is a combination of object avoidance and mostly the most common turning logic by the natural flow of steering brake and the accelerator pedals. It fits my driving and is a joy to use!

What it needs is a much less subtle indication of the selected drive direction on the 'ego car' avatar. How about a stocking great red arrow on the roof? Then make it so when you are stopped with foot on the brake you can reverse direction by tapping the arrow. That would make the auto selection a lot safer too since you'd not be confused about which way the car was going to go. I guess I am in a minority, but I HATE stalks! I have real cognitive problems with left/right distinctions and no muscle memory about which stalk does what. I'm very inclined to get them reversed if I'm looking in a mirror or over my shoulder, or if my hands are out of place due to rotating the steering wheel. I would much prefer an insultingly obvious indicator and a single button to toggle drive if in reverse and reverse if in drive. A subtle (and configurable) audio indication would also be helpful: make a noise like a truck reversing but internal when reverse is selected.

My girlfriend refuses to drive my model 3 because of the no stalks. Many just see as unsafe. If you have 2 family cars it's a pain to be switching

No that forward backwards malarkey is pointless. If no stalks worry someone that much maybe preorder the S3XY stalks from enhance.

I am absolutely certain that autoshift will not be 100% reliable not matter how much practice you get with it, and the moment it isn't and you are not fully concentrating you will ding the car. I won't be enabling it if it is an option on my 2021 model year

it won't be because you have stalks

Hi. How many Model 3 Highlands have you had with a vibration issue? Mostly noticeable at 60 to 80, but doesn’t go away if you go faster. I currently have a brand new one with the issue, I see on forums there is quite a few. Trying to get mine booked in, but it takes weeks. Just wondering if you have experienced it and if so what the solution was? PS love the videos .👍 it’s not wheel balancing as had it checked.

Sounds like tyre delamination issue. I had it on my 2023 M3 - got 4 new tyres from Tesla under warranty, problem has gone away (4 months). Michelin ePrimacy.

I have the same. Getting my wheels balanced tomorrow at ATS but I suspect it’s actually flat spots caused by strapping the vehicles down on the boats during transportation. Booked in with Tesla but that’s over a month away

@@bria712 if it’s wheels, tyres or balancing and it can be resolved quickly I will be happy. Otherwise I will be complaining to my lease company and rejecting the car as not willing to keep coming back and forth to resolve.

We need a shifter we are complicated ourself with this , parking in traffic in bussy citys with this will be nightmare and people going to be mad.

I love my MYP but I can't see myself ever buying another one if they continue with no stalks. This is just so much worse and you're going to have people either turning very slowly and holding up traffic, or bumping into the car in front when they want to go backwards.
