Gavin is 100% right, people in retail don't want extended encounters with customers. I wish more customers knew exactly what they wanted and save everyone some time.

zack tepe It flip flops imo. Every once in a while I meet a customer that's all smiles and seems interesting that I feel okay with talking to, then there's people that sit there and just drone on about something thats completely irrelevent to why they're there. I think it depends on both the person and how busy I am.

In the Battle of the Brits, I firmly stand beside Gavin. When having a discussion on the phone, either having been on the receiving end at a customer service type of job or on the phoning end and having to talk to a customer service position on the phone, get rid of the fluff. Neither one of us wants to be dealing with this situation right now so just get top the point and we can both go about our days.

Not at all. I worked at a computer shop for nearly a decade and almost everyone came in with their life story. Cut the fat and tell me what you did so I can fix it. I'm not a therapist...I'm a tech. I don't care about your brother who is going to school for insert degree here or that your cousin twice removed is pretty good with computers and he took a look at it blah blah blah. All I want to know is who are you and what is is doing or not doing that it should or shouldn't be doing.

@christophertom5552
@christophertom5552 7 жыл бұрын
I feel like that's how a lot of IT people seem to act like. I think back to some IT people I know, and they seem like the exact same way. But it depends on the person, and like Dabomb kind of alluded to: it depends on the job. It also depends on what is talked about. Working in retail, I have had customers who come up to me and given me their life story about why they came in and why their looking for that. In those cases, yes, that is unnecessary. But there some people who come up to me, ask for something, and while their waiting for me to get it for them, they just make small talk, and that's perfectly fine with me. Like Ellie said, it's treating the person as a Person. There's situations where being efficient is good, but situations where it is not necessary i feel like.

It does suck that VR isn't really gonna end up making it to the mainstream, at least not until games can be produced easier. We need a Miyamoto for the VR scene.
@underscore_n
@underscore_n 7 жыл бұрын
C-X 3 it's because VR is so expensive. Not only do you need a pretty beefy gaming rig to play most VR titles (which is now even more expensive with the etherium mining graphics cards shortage), the hardware itself costs upwards of $800, almost as much as someone would spend on their PC, and that's before you can even get a single game. Also physical requirements mean that quite a few people living in small apartments just cannot make room for it, and the general lack of games discourages new customers who could potentially be new owners. And don't even get me started on the whole "fragmentation" of the community by each headset; it just gets more ridiculous the more you look at it
@Aplesedjr
@Aplesedjr 7 жыл бұрын
They just need to make the oasis already. Then VR will make literally everything else look like garbage.
@Eorzat
@Eorzat 7 жыл бұрын
It's not just VR; it's gaming tech in general that's becoming more of a problem. Retail prices aren't inflating, but the costs of production are. For instance, I have yet to be absolutely blown away by graphics, world size, or animations of any seventh-gen game because the production value is only steeply increasing instead of in leaps and bounds. If game companies can't make full use of potential software, such as gaming engines, and hardware due to budget constraints, then there's no way that VR will able to take off any time soon.

I also think with a channel like RT it's hard as a new subscriber. With slow mo guys it's easy bc you know what the content is before clicking on it (pretty self explanatory) whereas with Rooster Teeth there is such a variety of shows that can be intimidating if you've just discovered it. You have no idea which is a good show/bad show and of course you've no idea what each series is until you actually take the time to watch it. Despite that, I do like that it caters to a larger audience and it seems like there's a show for different types of people, which could also result in lots of subs so I guess it just depends. I've been subscribed here since 2012/13 and it's been amazing, I love you guys to bits but my point basically is that it can be quite a lot to take in as a new member of the audience.

Interviewing Gavin has always been an interest of mine. After this podcast, I'd love to interview him. Hands down one of my favorite people, not just at Rooster Teeth, but in general. He's a well successful man who loves what he does, doesn't plan on stopping anytime soon and does ask for more. He's happy and grateful for the position he's in, and I hope I get a chance to meet him some time in the future.

I doubt burnie will see this but as a person who isn't straight and is joining the Marine Corps, there are several things that can disqualify a person from the military, diabetes asthma, flat foot, any mental disorder which being or thinking of being transgender is still considered. Now I don't support Our president is this action at all, but I don't shun it. If one gets the gender reassignment surgery they are unable to do there job they were assigned for 2-5 years. Meaning they can't do a damn thing but get medical and psychological help for the surgery they did to themselves. Now imagine getting paid a salary for 2-5 years when you do nothing and how is that fair to the person who has a rifle in his hand serving his country when another serviceman is sitting in a chair waiting for their hormone shots. You can't get easy access to those in the Middle East in a combat zone. If they wanted to join after all said is done then they deserve to serve I believe that. But spouting off the bullshit of everyone can serve when I almost got disqualified for asthma is one unintelligent and two is somewhat shameful. People get kicked out for tattoo regulations. Where is the support for them? They Don't have anything wrong with them but they get kicked out anyways. Many people see this as bigotry trust me I do too. But there are far more important things for the military to do than make sure 2-5% of its force is battle ready because they changed sexes. And yes $10 million dollars doesn't seem much when the budget is in the millions. But that money can supply food, water and housing for men and women in the front lines. And the Erectile dysfunction argument is equally stupid. Yes I think we shouldn't give out soldiers Medicine they don't need to have. But E.D. Medicine doesn't make you useless to a fighting force for years. I dislike that our president made this action, but this action has a true reasoning behind it. Not some thing to hate on the LGBT community if they wants that they'd reinstate no gays in the military. And that's a much larger portion.

I like podcasts with guests that come in and out. It's nice and refreshing, and a fun change of pace, without having to be stuck to the same cast. And it works well with a two-man crew! I like it, keep it up!

I could appreciate every thursday podcast being mainly a two person conversation with some random people popping in from time to time. Think it gives interesting insight in their personal and work relationships.

I thoroughly enjoyed this format. The two-person conversation was nice and easy to follow, and the occasional input from the side (with Jon, Patrick, Ellie and Brandon) created a nice and interesting dynamic. Tippy Top.
