Ruffled Edged Pillowcase | How To Sew

Today I have a fun sewing project to share with you. A Ruffled Edged Pillowcase. These turned out so pretty and are so quick and easy to make I am seriously thinking about making more.

I absolutely love this easy to follow tutorial. The pillow slip turned out so cute. There is a presser foot that takes some of the sewing steps away. This presser foot overcasts and sews the seam at the same time making a beautiful finished seam.

Very nice! Easy to follow & clear instructions. There is an even a more easy way. Make ruffle & attach to the case fabric (do not sew seam first. Then fold print inside, plain side out. sew pillow all the way down. Finish off seam. Turn right side out. Finish ruffle seam.

I'm not much of a seamstress, but I learnt to pin things with the pins going vertical towards where you'll be sewing. That way, you can just run right over the pins and take them out when done. So much easier and faster. And no, the sewing machine needle doesn't break, it simply moves over the pin.

get a ruffler attachment; so much easier; no broken threads when pulling. make it easy on yourself. pretty pillowcases.

I love my ruffler attachment. It does make beautiful ruffles, however I think her tutorial really makes it easy to make ruffles for People who need easy.

Thank you for the clear tutorial, it is exactly what I am looking for! I am a little confused on the measurement........The pillow case is 42 inches wide, do you mean for the two pieces of ruffle to be 42 in wide each, instead of 22 inches? Thank you!

I want to do this for a standard size 20 x 26 pillows. And I would like to make an 11" ruffle. Can you please help me with what my measurements? I am a Complete newbie, but want to tackle this as my first job. Just brought a sewing machine at 40+yrs old. Please help. And thank you for such a well planned turtorial. The only that I could find for this particular project on You tube. Your pillows are quite lovely

start by cutting your fabric out of one piece that is 41X28 once you have sewn around the two outer side, slip it on the pillow to check for fix. you can easily make adjustments before you add the ruffle. Hope this helps.
