The marlins a great rifles. I like the fit and finish on the Ruger but love the price point of the marlins.

My experience exactly. I have the identical rifle and the accuracy disappointed me. I believe the problem lies in the junk trigger it comes with. Bought a high-end trigger and will see what happens next trip to range. Good video

Still shooting my Marlin 783 that will shoot under an inch at 100. My guess is that once that rifle is broken in it will shoot sub 1 inch all day long. Nice looking rifle.

I have 77/22 magnum VBZ 24inch heavy barrel that shoots 1/4-3/8 at 100yds. That wind makes it tough . Float that barrel and things should improve . I had to do that to my 22lr model. I paid $350 for the lr model and $450 for the VBZ magnum but that was 30 years ago .

I have several RUGER M77 rifles in all the calibers. The 24” barrels shoot rather well. But the 20” barrels will shoot good one day and not the next. Ruger does not float the end of the stock with the barrel. And anyone that knows if the barrel is touching the stock, it will not shoot consistently every day. Or as the barrel heats up. So I glass bedded the front and rear of the receiver and about one inch of the barrel. Then floated the barrel all the way out to the end of the stock and this brought the groups right in. However if you do this it voids the warranty. However all my RUGER M77 rifles with the blued barrel 20” to 22” shoot so much better. But if you want to shoot 100 to 200 yards. Get a RUGER M77 17 Hornet or 22 Hornet. Great shooting rifles.

Love this review and just purchased the same exact one, i have a question the bolt on mine appears a little stiff to engage it, will it break in after a while? I see in your videos that yours is super smooth. Or must i add some type of oil around it? Thanks in advance for any advice on getting the bolt smooth. By the way i also got the Leopold you have on yours, thanks for the video.

In some of my own experiences I have found that Rimfire rifles need a far bit of ammo to wring out the accuracy. Generally it's good to try different brands until a good combination is obtained. One must keep in mind that the bore is "smoothing-out" as one shoots. The new barrel needs to be cleaned often and and plastic bristle brush on a one piece rod ( with solvent cleaner) does a good job without causing harm to the bore. The remington 33 grainers did not prove to be as accurate as the Hornady 30 grain ammo. The CCI 30 grain ammo was 2nd best. Both Winchester and Federal have 30 grain HP. There are not too many other light grain bullet brands so heavier rounds can be tested to see which ones work well in a given rifle. Typically the older standard loads are Winchester, Federal, Remington in a 40 grain jacketed hollow points so they all are worth testing. And the Hornady 45 Grain Critical Defense Ammo was quite good - with a bit more drop as distances are increased. Federal makes a 50 grain Game shock but I haven't seen them all that often - nor have I tried them. As a suggestion - keep testing and cleaning the bore until it is found that the barrel is broken in... Ensure that the scope mounts, rings and scope are all working as they need to. And check for a free float on the barrel.After the break-in of the barrel and all other factors have been satisfied. Shoot on a calm day to see what the potential of the Ruger 22 mag is truly capable of producing.

With a 5 shot group you can expect 1 or 2 flyers. Very frustrating to get sub moa on three or four shots then have a spoiler open the group to 3 inches. That is the nature of the 22 wmr. I found this to be true years ago and it looks like nothing has changed much with the ammo quality. I found that bullet seating depth and rim thickness varied by an extreme amount. I would recommend a 22 hornet and handloading if accuracy is important. The convenience of just buying ammo is nice though.

The harris bipods connect to your rifle by attaching to your rifles sling swivel.

I have a ruger mm77 that. Easily shoots 1in groups at100yds with cci ammo it has a laminate stock and a semi bull barrel

I can get a 77/22 mag stainless with a 24 barrel for 800$ or I can get a tikka t3 22 250 stainless with a stainless scope for 800 what would u do help

It;s been my experience that Remington is by far the worst rimfire ammo I have ever shot. Hornady, Armscor and Federal in that order shoot the best out to 100 yards.

+Ankur Baruah I recently done a comparo with Remington 33 gr, CCI maxi mag 30 gr Winchester 34 gr, Supreme and Federal 30 gr, TNT hp. The Remington 33 gr. shot everywhere 5-6 inch groups. The Federal 30 gr. TNT shot very good 1 1/2 - 2 inch groups. The CCI 30 gr. and the Winchester both shot excellent 1 1/4 -1 1/2 groups. All groups were shot @ 110 yards with a Ruger 77-22 with a 24 inch barrel. I believe after the barrel gets broken in, the groups will get smaller.

What's the point testing for accuracy when even you said it is windy. It's a waste of ammunition. Don't leave your daytime job. You are not qualified or have any common sense to try the accuracy on a calmer day. Just admit that you got out of the house to avoid your honey-do list.
