Rugged Obsidian 45 Review

I just got mine today, bafflingly my form 4 wait was only 6 days total after doing the certification. Neither I nor the gun store could believe it was so fast. My last one took 13 months. I haven't had a chance to shoot w/ it yet but I'll be using it with 9mm handguns and an Extar EP9, .45 and 10mm handguns, and .300 blackout subs.

Mine was certified over the past weekend. My first suppressor and its the rugged obsidian. Planing on using it on my hk45ct and scorpion. I hope it's quick

Just shot mine for the first time the other day. Love it. The Griffin EZ-Lok system is wonderful. There was certainly some blowback. I never tried it with the factory piston. Didn't even realize the Rugged one doesn't have slots. The Griffin one does since it's for SiCo, Rugged, etc.

I shoot both 9mm and 45ACP, is there any downside to just getting this version and using it for both rounds versus getting a 9mm and 45ACP can? Ordered my first Apocalypse, can't wait for it to arrive!!

No, in fact I would recommend a 45 can for 9mm so you can shoot both. You aren’t really tying to make 9mm whisper quiet so it’s better to have a more versatile can

What round did you use with the lever gun ? I just got the obsidian 45 for Marlin 1895 45-70. Rugged’s site says it can handle both sub and super sonic rounds… your thoughts?

1st thing I'd recommend is 3D printing 2x tools ... I'm just a poor, so I couldn't afford anymore $ spent on a super special tool ... that should've been included with my can anyways.

Agree!! Do you sell the tool? I have this. RUGGED OBSIDIAN 45, and would really love a tool that doesn’t mar the finish. A 1 inch multitooth socket works on the piston nut, but I also have the tri-lug adapter, which looks to be 1,1/4”. I was very upset. It didn’t come with one, on such an expensive can.
