Hey guys! I have to say, I really missed this. I think it’s been 20 or so days since the last upload and believe me, I couldn’t wait to get back to posting the series. I just wanted to make sure that the new episode was top quality and well, I think it turned into something really special. I really try to put a lot of extra effort into the videos covering regionals as they are road trips and well, memories I want to preserve in the best way possible. So again, lots of extra editing… this one probably took me a little over 40 hours. With that said, it was such a pleasure meeting so many of you guys on the 18th! Thank you for coming up and making me feel so special :) I got to meet a lot of great people, a lot of legends and the content creator behind Rouge to Glory. He made a pretty impressive first video which you can check out here kzbin.info/www/bejne/maXZkp6umtJ_gNE Also, this video has something new in the form of a heavy chat. I really wasn’t sure if I wanted to include it. I like positive atmospheres and I always want these videos to feel like a welcoming place… but at the same time I also felt like I had a responsibility to the other newer players, like myself to shed light on… well, something we will all probably have to deal with at some point. Let me know what you think of the segment. In the end, your opinion means a lot and I really do care what you have to say. I hope you enjoy this really special episode and hey, as per usual if you’re really enjoying all of the extra time that goes into the edits, sound mixing, montages, etc, consider giving the video a big like and sharing it with a friend… or on twitter… or on reddit. It all accumulatively makes a massive difference and I’m always super grateful :) -Ruggles

Thanks to you for making such amazing videos! I liked the story a the end, were you want to give us the advice to watch out, it's really nice of you and honestly this story made me upset and a little bit angry too (but I don't want to be toxic now or something). I also had to do with such opponents and I just can't stand them, I even despise them for being so dishonest and doing everything they can just to win, in a childrens cardgame of all things. Either way you were really really sportsman like, nice, honest and respectful, so I hope for you to stay positive even though sometimes there are people like that.

I've said this in the past and will keep repeating myself every single time : Your videos are by far the most breath-taking out there, the effort you put in in the montage seriously does show and contribute to an extremely incredible and enjoyable movie to watch. I really appreciate you make that kind of talk where you spoke of your 9th round. Canada seems a nice place, but as a fellow player in Mexico, things are a lot different. I agree with your judge friends, specially because that player most probably was doing that kind of tricky thing during the whole tournament. I play Pend Endymion, and I speak all the effects as fast as I can and always ask if my opponent understands them. Before an event, if you have a doubt regarding an effect or ruling, ask around how is going to be ruled in that event. Always ask a Judge when in doubt, and if you get a wrong answer (Judges are human beings), get the head judge and verify. Never leave the flow of the match to your opponent, specially a guy like that.

Sure there is playing for fun or being a good sport. But there are a few people in Arizona that purposefully play decks made up of different languages so their opponents can't read and are sort of scummy. Getting them DQ'd helps everyone else.

I’m so glad you brought up that last round. At my locals every now and then guys would pull out foreign cards. Aside from that when I first started competing; unaware of a lot of card effects, I took the players’ word rather than take the time to read everything. I wanted to play and put my trust in their sportsmanship. That very well may have cost me some games here and there but at this point I’ll never know and we were playing for packs so losing doesn’t bother me. It’s a game we play for fun and a learning experience, and I’m far more educated now than I was. But thank you for echoing the importance of honor in this game.

Hello Ruggles love the channel I'm a judge for Dragonball Super card game, I know there differences in our games but the Language ruling and what happened to you sadly happens a lot in all games. To new/returning player please tell a judge either during the match or flag a judge and request a game watch after the first game. Reason is sometimes judges pick up on something off in the game or tell them during. This can result in either a DQ for your opponent or a rematch. I have a friend name Bryan who plays Yugioh similar thing happened in a CoreTCG tournament and he got a second round win because his opponent wasn't playing sportsman like. Not trying to scare anyone, but Judges are your friends in tournaments

Thanks for the feedback, Caleb. It's nice to know that I can slow things down and talk on a subject for 5 minutes in these if I feel it's important or can help out a fellow newer player :)

That real talk was possibly the most polite and kind way to show that sleezy salad player that he has no honor. Your positivity going through all this was amazing! From Tim Hortons, to Canadian kindness, to everything in general, I love this series! Don't stop, keep it up!

Damn, that Salad thing got me so salty. I agree with your judge friends: if things look so iffy, call a judge. It's better being paranoid and calling a judge over a misunderstanding than letting potential teaching go through.

I feel like he used French cards on purpose so he could manipulate his way through the tournament. That’s just lame that you lost to someone like that. That’s awesome that you stayed positive. You’ll get your invite next time for sure :)

Players like that last one, in any game i'm playing (Magic/Pokemon usually), I would do exactly what you were told after the match. The minute that misrepresentation happens, purposeful or not, judges need to be involved. Very important that happens in the first instance of it at the beginning of the game. Very glad you had tons of fun though! Large events like that I've had just as much fun just playing side events with friends.

Awesome vid as always! I definitely agree that people should not be shy when it comes to calling a judge if necessary. Just don’t be a jerk and explain the reason for the judge call to your opponent. If there is a reason that can be changed where you’re not enjoying ANY game then you have the right to question that! Have fun everyone!

I saw this video on my recommends I love the transitions and music choices, I'm a poor man so dueling network is the only way for me to really test the decks I really want to play. I subbed, not just because of HEROs but rather I LOVE the camera work and music.

It’s taken me 3 years worth of regionals to learn that sometimes you have to be the “bad guy”. I can’t begin to tell you how many matches I’ve lost at regionals because I just allowed people to take back plays that were critical misplays, and other things like that where I wanted to be a good guy. Not saying you have to shark people or anything like that, but you have to be firm in making sure everything is legit. You’re a great guy and obviously a great player, I’m sure you’ll get that invite soon, but sometimes you have to be more firm. Best of luck to you dude! Always look forward to these episodes!

Amazing video! I like the serious talk! Your videos are so well put together and they have such a welcoming feel. I appreciate all the time you put into them and I don't care if they're not out consistently, the quality and personal feel are worth the wait. Thanks for everything you do! Keep it up! Plus, you play Heros like me. :)

@@gorsedh Pretty sure you're not allowed to be on a phone during a match.
@gorsedh4 жыл бұрын
@@tinsaus5498 obviously it's only for keeping track of lifepoints, gamestates and searching for cards. Judges don't complain as long as it is a fair use and also is in the interest of the opponent to let you do that since finding physically the proxy with translation actually takes more time and in some cases can be manipulated
@tinsaus54984 жыл бұрын
@@gorsedh Figured it'd be for fair use but I'd make sure to be cautious. It is something that is frowned upon at events ike these for sure. Just a heads-up. :)

Honestly, I like when you do real talks because life isn’t always about things going right because people can be scummy. Thank you so much about explaining the importance of confronting your opponent and calling a judge if the game is being misrepresented.

Oh boy, I am French and I am sorry for you dude! I guess this just happens sometimes. To be honest, it happened to me once or twice in my local shop, even if most people are very kind and helpful towards new players like me. But I will always remember this one guy, in my first "bigger" tournament. It was a qualifier, at a shop, for a bigger tournament. Round 1, he plays pendulum, and it was the first time for me facing it. He just went through his entire deck, me trying to read but he went so fast that I almost couldn't respond or play anything. After destroying me 2/0, he just left without saying a word. All of this match had the same pretense that I was a new player and wanted a friendly game... Some people just want to win. Thanks for sharing this story, it is also important to know and show that those behaviors DO exist. I want to reiterate that the large majority of people are super nice.
