@@FutayuriShironeko Nah. Each ninjutsu is it's own cooldown 30s long on the GCD and pressing it prompts a Dancer minigame of randomized mudra combinations 3 long and they are weaves like in the before times.

Whm can have up to 3 stacks lilies regarding of type. So if u have no red lilies u can have 3 white lilies. But if u have 2 red lilies stacks, only 1 white lily can be gotten. Ofc u can spend red lilies stacks only when u have 3 stacks (like rn in the game)

I put this idea in a forum thread of bad ideas. Positionals are now a gradient. The closer you are to the middle of the positional zone, the higher amount of the full damage you'll get. Additionally, True north giving the full positional bonus now applies on-top of the positional bonus you would have gotten already. So if you aim something just right and hit true north, you'll do much more damage.

BLU: Blue Mage can now use every single ability in there spell book at anytime and has a 1.5 second GCD. Bluemage now does not have a hotbar and can not use macros or keybindings, you have to manuallying flip through the book and click the spells. All 124 and memorise what page number they are on.

Honestly, Astro could be ruined by adding the original, Heavensward cards back again but in increasingly cursed ways that *seem* like a buff. Not only is there GCD speed increase which will slightly misalign any rotation, but now also weird ones like shorten all cooldowns by 15 seconds, and 100% increased gauge generation. And of course royal road versions, but now 50% to 200% variance on each target. Make you truly pray to fate when playing with an astro.

Ruin Astro by bringing back the old card effects before Dawntrail, i.e. only the damage buff, BUT You can only draw one card at a time with a 45 second cooldown No draw set buff And there isn't a preferred job for each card. It's a constant 3%.

The best way to ruin MNK would be to double down more so on it's most appealing feature to many players, it's faster GCD. Stacks of greased lightning speeding up the GCD by 0.1s for every 5 "correct" GCDs, losing all stacks on failure. I mean, double weaving on MNK is a bit of a dream, this'd make single weaving impossible after a point

Idea for DNC after hearing yours: Your basic GCDs are shuffled to represent your last standard step, procs work on both other buttons. So say you have the dance steps on 1-4 and standard step solution was 4-2 Your first basic GCD is now 4 and the follow up is 2. Both have a chance to give a proc, so you can also use 1 or 3 with a proc. For extra difficulty, icons don't change and no glowing and beeping able to press the proc GCD buttons without a proc for basically no damage (tripping over your feet).

You went too easy on picto. My change to them would be painting a motif having a 25% chance of resulting in a ruined painting, requiring them to use a 4sec spell called "Scrap" before being able to paint a motif again. Being hit by an enemy while painting also guarantees a ruined painting.

For BLM, Enochian as a button comes back, but the effect cannot be extended past the initial duration of 20 seconds. Enochian will have a 2 minute cooldown. Potency buffs to adjust for the new 2 minute burst.

I think NIN should instead be forbidden from moving during ALL mudras, not just TenChiJin. You were setting up Suiton but had to move a little? That's a bunny. Tying to get into range after using a Ninjutsu for a ranged attack? Have a Bunny. For good measure, lets also say that taking any damage at all messes your Mudras up as well. Raidwide during burst? You can bet that that's a bunny dancing on your head.

All of Paladin's weaponskills are now magic-based and cost MP, except for Shield Lob and Shield Bash, and you does not have the MP recovery to keep up with them (remove Riot Blade's MP recovery). In order to make sure you have enough MP for bursts you'll need to totally ignore some Atonement combos and Holy Spirit/Circle casts, and sometimes even break your basic combo up with a shield action. Warrior's Bloodwhetting now INCREASES damage taken for the first four seconds upon activation, then changes to a buff that provides the usual mitigation and heals once that expires. Dark Knight gets a trait that increases MP recovery and damage dealt, scaling with how low your HP is. Caps at 5% of max HP. Gunbreaker's Superbolide has its cooldown reduced to 120 seconds, but goes back to cutting your HP to 1. The twist? It now cuts your HP when the effect EXPIRES, rather than when it's applied. White Mage gets four lily stacks maximum but Afflatus Misery is now an option rather than a payoff. Spend one lily for Solace/Rapture, or spend four at once for Misery. Astrologian only gets 500 MP for Astral/Umbral Draw. Just like in the DT media tour. Scholar gets ten more buttons that all do almost nothing but make you feel like you're playing suboptimally if you don't find space to squeeze them on your hotbar. Sage's Addersgall and Addersting become the same resource and Toxicon gets a buff, making it so that Sages want to spam shields constantly and ignore their healing oGCDs for the extra Toxicon damage. Monk's GCD becomes faster the more chakra it has, to the point where even single-weaving becomes impossible without clipping at higher chakra levels. Samurai now only gains meditation stacks by standing still for extended periods of time, maybe 20 or 30 seconds per stack. Hissatsu Gyoten and Hissatsu Yaten do not count as movement for these purposes, allowing you to dash in and out as needed but with very restricted freedom of movement. Dragoon gets Dragon Sight back, except now it's on a shorter timer and you get one use of it every time you use Drakesbane, meaning you need to weave in a buff on an ally every five GCDs. Or time your burst to use it up right before Drakesbane, then get the next proc, then use that to buff two allies during burst while trying to spam out the rest of your oGCDs. Reaper and Viper's quick burst phases are now positionals. The GCD has not been changed. Ninja's Ten Chi Jin requires you to remain still again. Except now, your normal mudras require that too. Bard's Hawk's Eye proc is now necessary for some oGCDs. Empyreal Arrow, Sidewinder, and most notably Pitch Perfect need the proc and will spend it on use. Machinists suffer enough on a daily basis, they get a pass here. Dancer's Esprit gauge is replaced by a partner gauge that fluctuates based on how much damage your dance partner is doing, and provides a direct percentage buff to your own attacks based on that. If your partner isn't playing perfectly, you will not either. Summoner's summons now remain out for the entirety of their duration, and the Gemshine/Precious Brilliance attacks are based around where the summon is at the time. The Gemshines are melee attacks that your summon needs to be at close range for, and the AoEs are different shapes per summon, so you need to be constantly adjusting their position with the pet hotbar whenever bosses/enemies move. Black Mage can no longer get multiple stacks of Astral Fire and Umbral Ice at once. They either need to cast the opposite spell to cancel the current phase and then start building up from 0 stacks, or weave in a Transpose and start from 1 stack. All of Red Mage's spells now have a 5-second cast time. Still on the same 2.5-second GCD, and oGCDs like Fleche and Contre Sixte have their cooldowns adjusted to fall in 7.5-second intervals, but you are now committing to sitting still for 5 seconds every other cast, and you only get the Dualcast proc by using one of the formerly shorter casts. Pictomancer's RGB/CYM combos now need to get painted ahead of time like the muses. One motif cast gets you the full three casts. If your Aetherhues buff drops, you lose the remaining casts with it. Also the motif you paint is different for the additive/subtractive combos, so you need to make sure you have a subtractive motif painted before using Subtractive Palette.

Also, ngl, the WHM and SGE changes sound kind of interesting. The WHM one would cause endless grief, but the SGE one might actually be a neat system since it would mean in prog, you're going with more healing, but as you get a more solid group that takes less damage, you can optimize for damage. It would (sorta) address the problem healers currently have that the better their party is, the more boring their job becomes. This way, as the party gets better, the SGE would also have something to occupy them in terms of deciding what oGCDs they can start to weed out of their rotation to slot in more damage. On paper, that's NOT a terrible idea, exactly. It's all in the implementation and if the community can ever get over the "damage >>> all" mentality to not call people bad just because they're staying on the more comfy side of healing, but in a vacuum, it's not the worst idea ever.

Going a change for the various things I've mained over the years: Viper: Rattling Coils removed. Uncoiled Fury can now only be executed after successfully landing Hunter's Coil, Swiftskin's Coil, Hunter's Den, or Swiftskin's Den. Red Mage: Displacement potency increased to 600 and it is now a 25-yalm backstep. Engagement potency unchanged. Sage: Eukrasia now has a 1 second cast time. Paladin: We're reverting the AoE threat tools. Please welcome back Flash. And nothing else.

Machinist: All "Omnitool" abilities (the ones on the big rig that we pull out for non-bullet related abilities) share the same charge and cooldown system as Drill and Bioblaster. Yes, this means that either Drill will be forever left behind by Air Anchor, or it gets a damage buff and you need to pick on the fly if you want more Battery or more Damage.

Red Mage: Periodically (let's say 25%), using Verfire or Verstone will transform one of the buttons for Riposte, Zwerchhau, or Redoublement, selected at random, into Mêlée Supérieur, with 550 potency and 5 cost to the Balance Gauge. This attack returns to normal if you use any weaponskill or spell before using it. This would be a poison pill 3 times over: It'd screw up your gauge generation. It'd make you more likely to save Corps-a-corps charges and lose that damage, because you'd be more likely to want to save the ability to charge in to make sure you don't lose uptime to using Mêlée Supérieur. And it'd eat SO MUCH attention. Even if you got there you might hit the wrong combo button because it's not the same every time, which if you have gauge would then cause you to waste 15 or 20 and COMPLETELY screw yourself over.

I have an alternate way to ruin PCT. Make the motif painting be a combo action off of the normal spells. Completely shuts down their ability to downtime paint. We can make the motifs also be shorter to paint too.

DRK - You can no longer use Edge of Shadow or Flood of Shadow or Esteem unless you are enshrouded in The Blackest Night. Should your TBN run out before you can get your spells off, tough luck, you weren't good enough and now you're maxing out in mana and potentially lost your shadow. DRG - You have to actually jump with spacebar in order fill Stardive Gauge, high jump, mirage jump, drag dive, elusive jump etc.. I am sure I missed one but I refuse to login to remember. NIN - you have to hide behind someone to gain a massive potency buff for sneak attack damage. Essentially, line of sight the boss. And you'd have to do this about every 3 GCD's

For Dragoon, jumps now allow you to doge attacks but you gain momentum and land X away from the target in the direction you jumped. Where X is the distance between you and the target when the jump was activated. If you want to make it even more mean make it so if you were to land outside the boss arena it counts as falling off an edge.

Sage: Oops! All Shields! Pepsis is removed. Diagnosis and Prognosis no longer heal directly, and instead remove all shields from a single target or all nearby targets, respectively, healing for 130% (Diagnosis)/110% (Prognosis) of the remaining shield HP on the target(s), including untriggered Haima/Panhaima stacks and shields from other jobs. Eukrasia also becomes available at level 2, to ensure availability of healing in all content. Eukrasian Dosis still unlocks at level 30 though. All other healing in Sage's kit, including Physis and Kerachole regeneration and the healing components of Eukrasian GCDs, is replaced with shields. The following changes are made to prevent egregious shield stacking, with appropriate variance in potencies: Druochole/Taurochole generate Diagnosis shields, without the crit synergy. Ixochole generates Prognosis shields. Physis and Kerachole generate stacking mini-shields like Haima and Panhaima shields. Overlapping with Haima/Panhaima is allowed, and they share a stack limit of 5. Pneuma generates Holos shields. (without the resist effect) Kardia and Philosophia generate 1 stack of Haima and Panhaima shields, respectively, with an inactive stack limit of 5. Egeiro now raises the target at 1HP with a Diagnosis shield, and has a 6s cast. (because you need to Diag/Prog right after) Sage Limit Break generates a shield that conflicts with all other shields. (This is worse than Tank LB for mitigation, and probably fucks with other shield heals severely.) Sage's shields no longer overwrite Scholar's shields if they are lesser in size. You get more mobility from the extra Addersting you might get from -choles and the increased volume of oGCD shields. That said... Enjoy micromanaging all the shield stacks and healing any damage that gets through your shields. Also, now Sages might get the short end of the stick when paired with Scholar since they will have issues getting Addersting back for movement.

I got some changes that I think could improve how BRD plays and performs: -BRD's damage is kind of low so I think some potency should be added...to Repelling Shot. -Army's Muse should only be applied to the next song when Army's has gone through its full song duration. -Iron Jaws, and ONLY Iron Jaws, should have a cast time. -Repertoire should give 4 Soul Gauge instead of 5. Apex's potency should be increased to compensate for less Soul Gauge generation. Blast's requirements should stay the same. -Radiant Finale should only be usable when BRD has 3 Codas. I think these are some pretty neat changes that can be added to the job, hope this helps! :)

BRD fully embraces their core identity: Dedicated song buttons are removed, and instead you have three "Play Song" charges that require you to actually play the set series of notes for each song. Messing up burns the song charge. Can borrow the NIN failure bunny for flavor but it's holding a harp now.

Can confirm with the Pictomancer part, controller users can “right click” things, but holy shite it is janky. By pressing Left Bumper and Right stick simultaneously, you toggle on or off Virtual Mouse mode. Right stick in that state moves the cursor around, and I think A button(X on PlayStation controller) acts as Left Click and X button(square on PlayStation controller) acts as right click. So you could, but it would take like 5 seconds and you have to remember to turn Virtual Mouse back off before you can input any commands from your Crosshotbar. I use the virtual mouse exclusively for pre-positioning the cursor for ground targeted stuff, as it won’t move from the location it is in when you turn Virtual Mouse off

There’s a few devious things I could think of for Scholar: Things such as giving White Mage Stoneskin back, and then specifically having it not stack with Shield healer GCDs and also take priority over Scholar’s shields, just to ruin every Spreadlo in duty finder ever attempted, Buffing Energy Drains at the cost of making Aetherflow an awkward 62 second cooldown causing that button to just naturally drift and feel forever awful, Or maybe even making Eos’ range just awful on every fairy ability (or even just embrace) meaning you’d have to move Eos every time your tank decided to do some cardio and run off somewhere. But I think one of the most subtle yet cursed ones (especially to veterans)? Teasing the return of DPS actions from Stormblood… and then only bringing back Fey Wind. As a PLD main, im suppised that you didn't have a return to form with 5 Holy Spirit/Circles before Confiteor and thus the blade combo as the ShB/EW was. This way PLD could either not burst as the beginning of the fight or NEVER be able to use its most powerful attacks in raid buffs. Oh and mar Confitor take all your MP but make the Blade combo require no MP just for good measure. ;)

Ooh, I got one. For DRK, The Blood Gauge has an increased size upto 50% of your Max HP. Blood Weapon now has a 0 sec cooldown and can only be used after completing a Hard Slash combo or AOE combo. Blood Weapon grants you 1 stack of Vengeance by consuming 10% of your Max HP and adds half the amount to the Blood Gauge. A maximum of 5 stacks of Vengeance can be held at one time. Edge of Darkness and Flood of Darkness consume 1 stack of Vengeance. Normal Bloodspiller and Quietus consume 30% of the Blood Gauge. Using Living Dead requires 2 stacks of Blood Weapon and all of your Blood Gauge and consumes all your HP to cast Shadowbringer with an additional potency equal to the amount of Blood Gauge consumed and raises your STR by 45% of your DEF. For the next 8 sec, you are unkillable and can cast the Delirium combo without any cost but all healing received is reduced by 40%. If your HP isn't full when the Living Dead ends, you instantly die. Also, TBN now also consumes 1 stack of Blood Weapon. Now, become the nightmare of any healer and live like the DPS you were meant to be. P.S: I guess for pre pull purposes, let's have an oGCD that consumes 30% of your HP and grants you 3 stacks of Vengeance.

Right, so for paladin, that would mean paladin would never want to be OT. But I could kinda see it work. Spam your weak attack five times, then you have 100 oath gauge and can use your defensive twice. But it would be a huge DPS loss and we might spam Holy Spirit more to kind of compensate for that. Before the level 90 Blade combo, it would be less terrible as our burst has more Holy Spirit uses. Piety PLD when? White Mage: You are now the healer that despises other healers. Big, obnoxious shields? Yeah, we hate those! Eos? Surely that is an enemy that gets hit by my Afflatus Misery. IF I HAD ONE! And don't get me started on the most evil skill of all: Bloodwhetting. But good thing it costs 50 Beast Gauge now, so it won't be used. Good thing I have Rescue to get players to stand in the bad. BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD LILY! Samurai: No. White Mage would love Samurai. Picto: That is a big issue for console players. We can't just click off a buff. Unless we play with KB/Mouse. Which we can. But I don't. There is an alternative. Kinda. We can create a virtual mouse on the fly with a button combination to click off a buff, but then we can't do anything else while we use the mouse.

I'm a Monk and Summoner player. Let's ruin it by reverting the Brotherhood Chakra cap increase because that was SO much fun to manage in Endwalker! Hey Summoners! Let's force you to use all your primal ruins/catastrophes and their bonus level 90+ abilties before you can move onto the next primal! Wouldn't more rigidity be so much fun?

i actually love so many of these changes, as a mnk/ast main, i SO hate those changes but i think in actual gameplay id end up loving them. my initial thought for ast was to make draw a 45s cd instead and watch the chaos unfold over a fight of any moderate length, but i love your rework way more. the only thing id really change is that instead of bloodwhetting taking 50 gauge, i think it taking 25 gauge would be so much worse. its a low enough amount that most players likely wouldnt be able to justify not using it, and if you only use it once you would end up in situations where you couldnt bring a full 100 gauge into some windows, resulting in a loss of a fell cleave :)

For Dragoon, you can dodge AoEs by using your jump ogcds at the right time (like how I thought it would work as a sprout lol) but now Spineshatter Dive is back and High Jump work like the rest of the jumps where it doesn't return you to where you stood when you casted it. Good luck getting all five of those damaging dashes during 2 minutes when there are mechanics going off, trying to dodge them without overlapping and fighting latency

Fun fact, jump used to move you, but it caused a whole bunch of problems during the shadowbringer era and was changed in endwalker to not cause said problems.

While it isn’t a *single* change, something that would definitely make Picto feel a lot different, and likely not in a good way, is if you could stay in Subtractive Palette for as long as you like, but to enter *and exit*, you must spend 100 gauge. Water and Thunder now generate more gauge, 50 and 25 respectively. (Subtractive spells receiving a slight potency nerf to account for this.) If this sounds like a buff, then you’re forgetting about Comet in Black, which would still be a damage gain, forcing Picto into an almost entirely rigid rotation of 2 normal combos, 4 subtractive combos, with no way to stockpile gauge, and a single free switch every two minutes.

Me as you goes through each job not my main: 😂 Me as you get to my main: 🤨 Sam main btw, and if that change ever became a thing, our shift to melee BLM would be complete. Instead of avoiding damage, we'd be running into it shouting "BUT MUH KAITEN TENDO DPS!!" Another evil change could be Meikyo needs the sam to do the standard sen build not just applying the stickers, but in a very specific order and any mistake ruins the damage (all attacks would do increased pot).

VPR: You ever see someone wish they could bind VPR buttons separately? Give them what they want but make EVERY action a separate key. Basic combos go from 2 needed buttons to 8, AOE combos from 2 to 6, Serpent's tail from 1 to 6, Twinfang & Twinblood from 2 to 6, Reawaken from 1 to 2 and then 4 extra for each generation also being it's own button. In total, you'd beed 24 more slots in your hotbars to deal with that change. Have fun!

*Monkey's Paw Curls a FInger* Paint thinner is now doable again. In the spirit of reversing things, Starry Muse now gives 50 Palate Gauge instead of a Freebie. Also, each time you gain Palate Gauge, you are presented with a random color. To gain Gauge again, you must cast THAT color. The color at the start of an Instance is always Blue. Now you MIGHT get 50 Palate gauge in only 4 casts! (Blue, random roll Red) And you MIGHT get Palate naturally after your Blizzard combo. (EX, Get 50 on Blue, Roll Red, go Blizzard Combo, come out naturally at Red). So since you can ONLY random "faster" sequences, Picto has even MORE big casts! Picto Damage is hyper busted! But...if you had skipped Palate you could have gotten 25 more gauge in only ONE cast...would that make you have more burst Palate? Or would that be Over Cap on Starry Muse because that will add 50? Better calc fast! you have 0 time to decide which without clipping since you wont get to see the new color until AFTER your cast finishes! Leaving no spare time until you have to weave. Or you COULD just guess and risk MISSING it, or messing up Burst... Which also means you MUST weave Subtractive every time you max gauge for any reason...because you COULD over cap on your next GCD and you won't get to check before oopsie! Weave window gone, now you clipped anyway. Plus, you only get one GCD to notice that you went into Subtractive after Blue but the new Palate is Green so you have to click off Subtractive after only ONE cast this time. Wait you had to look at a mechanic? You wanted to Swift or Smudge to deal with something? You wanted to Tempura to help the team? Tsssss...man that sucks. That's Palate Calc Time, those are all damage losses at random times, so they just ARE damage losses even if used right. Just unbind them.

All tank invulnerability buttons “Living Dead”, “Holmgang”, “Hollowed Ground”, and “Superbolide” now have a 25% chance to drop a heal off DOOM effect or Esuna off DOOM effect each time it is used. The DOOM effect is 5 seconds long. And the DOOM ignores invulnerability. They can also get both types of DOOM at the same time.

Oh that monk one had me *giggling*, i think that one is my favorite because of how "rational yet evil" it is. fun fact! as a controller player, you CAN "right click remove" buffs, however, you only have 2 options: - one, activating the virtual mouse either by using the Playstation's touchpad and sliding it around, or pressing L1 + R3 to activate the one that is controlled by the analog stick. Both of these suck for precise control as it moves at one speed and is not optimal for selecting very small things (like buffs). It's basically the Savage version of what mouse & keyboard has to do - Use the HUD cycling feature by the Playstation Touch Pad buttons to cycle to select certain UI interfaces such as the duty menu. Your buffs are a part of this, which means you can cycle over to your buffs and press a button to dismiss them (i believe the confirm button, so X or A for Xbox players), however, it is in fact quite tedious if you have most of your HUD active, so it is not efficient AT ALL if you have other things to do. (also, i do not at all know what Xbox does to mimic some of the features PS4/5 does with it's "Touch Pad Button". Does it even have an equivallent on the Series S/X controllers?? i have no idea i only remember the 360 controller lol.)

Now i want to ruin more: Dragoon: elusive jump now combo’s into all jumps, jumps are now manual ground target only. Invuln Drk: living dead cost all mp. Duration increases by 1 sec per 1000 spent with for a maximum of 10 sec. Pld: hallow ground is now cleanseable. Party buff increased based on time remaining. War: holmgang can now only be used under the berserk status. Gnb: superbolide is now stack based preventing damage per stack taken max 5 stacks. Astro: card effects are now affected by the weather of your starting city. (Due this change more city’s has been added. Cannot be changed upon character creation)

A fc member watched this and said in vc, For pictomancsr, you get 3 motiffs at the begining of the duty, but you have 3 additional paints that do dot damage (10 potency each) and you have to use these to get your next motiff in specific order, and you only get the colour, if you apply to dot, (has a 15second debuff that does not overwrite, you have to wait for it to fall off before getting the next paint)

Machinist: Has a reload OGCD that you have to press between abilities. Yes, even when in hypercharge. That said though, if you made like a gunslinger job that was centered around using a revolver and picking what type of ammo you wanted to put in the six slots, that could potentially be an interesting idea

PLD: Potency of Shield Bash dramatically increased (lets say 700p at lv100), but it now _spends_ enmity equal to ~40x of what an attack of that potency would normally grant (or ~4x what an Iron Will buffed attack if that potency would grant, so if tank stance is on you get *about* one per 1234567 combo). Fun consequences of this include: * Provoke is now a damage cooldown * Regularly dropping aggro for a _bigger_ Provoke makes for an even _bigger_ damage gain * Shirk is also a de-facto damage cooldown when the target is a PLD * Now imagine an alliance roulette with three (3) greedy yet less-than-coordinated PLD players For extra enjoyment, the potency loss is affected by the enmity multiplier on Iron Will, making you basically drop all aggro instantly if you forget to toggle it off before Shield Bashing.

If you gave Bard togglable cast times for all of its gcd skills. While toggled on, you get a 30% damage bonus. You also can't use a new high damage 60 sec CD ability that just got added without it on.

Viper: EVERY move has as positional. oGCDs included. Reaper:Gibbet,Gallows and Guillotine need 100 soul gauge. Enshroud needs 100 Shroud gauge. Slice, Waxing slice and infernal slice give 5 soul gauge . Potency’s adjusted for balancing Dragoon: True Thrust and Raiden thrust starts only one of your combos and it’s random. Your combo moves activate the combo requirement of a move from the other combo. This is also random. For example True thrust into Lance barrage into chaotic storm into wheeling thrust :D

For dancer, since fan dances 1-3 have a 50% chance at proccing, fan dance 4 now has a 50% chance at becoming useable after hitting flourish, potency adjusted for this change Alternatively, to receive the benefits of espirit generation from dance partner, you must be within a 3 yalm distance of the partner to better simulate dancing with a partner irl

Reaper: enshroud is now only usable after harvest moon, no blue gauge, no new way to get harvest moon. Enshroud is now only once per fight unless you spend the time to get harvest moon back. Dark knight: TBN now grants a shield of twice the potency for half the time. it now also costs 6000 mana because twice the shield = twice the cost. if you do manage to break it in that time it still only grants one use of edge/flood of shadow. Living dead also goes back to it's old version. White Mage: everything has the old holy cast time, *everything*, even afflatus heals Dancer: Standard and technical step no longer stack and instead the newest application overwrites whichever one is ongoing. Red Mage: mana imbalance tolerance is now only 10 points, you have 50 white and 40 black you're imbalanced. instead of slower mana generation when imbalanced you are inflicted with a DOT and all your spells have lowered potency until you rectify the imbalance.

GCD jumps. All of them. Add some extra oGCDs so that it's still roughly as busy in burst windows, because Dragoon players enjoy that. Life Surge on Stardiver sounds incredible, but it interrupts your combo randomly, your DoT will drop almost every time, and Power Surge will drop consistently every 2 minutes unless you manage to get a 2.30 GCD. Have fun!

More of a rework, but for SCH: the faerie gague now interacts with all the long cooldowns (dissipation, serphism and aetherpact) and their bonuses are now related to how much gauge they have. Now there is a spell that increases the gague by 10 points, reinforcing the “damage loss to heal” trap of SCH

BLM: Polyglot is now only gained by casting Scathe SGE: Toxikon now costs 400 MP to use along with Addersting. To compensate it now doesn't have any fall off after the first target. MCH: Checkmate / Double check only have 1 charge. WHM: using a Lily at a full Blood Lily reverts it by one stage. PLD: Holy Spirit and the Blade combo are now Melee Attacks. PLD (again): Passage of Arms HAS to be channeled for its full duration and cannot be canceled. You become Knockback immune during it. BLU: Spells now cost a new Resource built by Water canon. You start a duty with 0.

The RDM changes are nothing. NOTHING. If your spellspeed is even slightly off, you're going to drift these cooldowns anyway. Having a bad spellspeed number actually increases the skill ceiling because you're trying to time your bursts to your ogcds. This is a good change. I approve.

PCT: Palette Gauge starts at 100 and passively recovers, but every spell costs ink, and getting to 0 ink needs you to recharge it with a 2.5 second casted spell.

Great and creative idea for a video! I love how even though you’ve been doing it for years you’re still finding cool unique ideas of things to talk about. One of my wacky ideas is: BLM now has a “thunder stance” just like Astral Fire/Umbral Ice, and you have to deliberately switch into it with a “Thunder 3” type spell to apply your DoT 🤣 I think even if the DoT was absurdly high potency about 90% of BLMs would just throw their hands up and ignore thunder entirely.

NIN: 1. 6 shukuchis (+1 every expansion), everytime it's used it decreases mudra cd by 4 secs. 2. Can't move during mudra but recompensated by 6 shukuchis. 3. TCJ button only does Tenri Jindo but to use it the player still needs to do the usual TCJ combo in order with normal mudras and of course the 6 shukuchis cuz why not And since I'm a PLD main, Any magic spells deals more damage the further they're from the target. Good luck MT'ing with that

For Viper: Uncoiled Twinblood and Uncoiled Twinfang, the follow-ups to Uncoiled Fury, are melee range only. Sure, Uncoiled Fury is a great disconnect tool, but every time you use it for that function you'll have to accept you're losing out on the damage you'd get by using it in melee range...

*Cracks knunckles* Paladin: Everytime his attacks block due to the shield his oath gauge is drained by 10 points which can only be restored by using Sheltron. Warrior: If he does not attack during a timeframe of 5 seconds he gets a consistent DoT damage of 5% every 2 seconds, upon using a skill he restores SOME of that HP back. Dark knight: Every. Single. One of his skills uses his own HP instead of MP and blood. He also has permanent 0 MP which is instead added to his total HP Gunbreaker: His cartridges can overcook after 5 seconds causing a AoE explosion that causes damage to enemies around him AS WELL as allies, the damage is stronger the more bullets he has stored. Monk: In order to accumulate beast charges the monk has to be in meditation. In exchange six-sided-star has no recast time. Dragoon: Whenever he uses his jump abilities or tosses his spear it becomes lodged inside the enemy causing a constant DoT and he has to physically get it back otherwise he cannot use another jump. Ninja: He can only use his jutsus while invisible, all his jutsus are AoE. Samurai: You need to have all three seals before being able to use them. He then can use them back to back with no cooldown between them. Reaper: To be able to use enshroud you need to use a teleport first. Doesn't matter if backwards or forward. It has no stacks, lasting now as long as the portal remains Viper: All of his rotations are randomly highlighted and everytime he gets one right it deals additional damage. Otherwise he uses it with a fixed 140 potency. White Mage: Holy has 2 charges and a cooldown of 15 seconds between each charge. everytime you use cure 1 it reduces the cooldown by 5 seconds. Scholar: Embrace, much like Kardia now needs to be associated with who you want it to heal, potency increases to 400 on the target, other party members are healed by 120 potency Astrologian: All of his card skills hit the entire party but he has to draw three copies of it, otherwise they are single target as usual. Sage: If he has no Addersgail he can use his own MP to use the skill instead. It will cost his entire MP bar however. Bard and machinist: Both have an ammo counter now that costs 1 bullet/arrow per auto-attack. When reaching 0 they have to reload their weapons. Upon doing so, for 3 seconds their auto-attacks become critical hits. Dancer: Curing waltz and shield samba can only be cast AFTER finishing his dances. It will affect all party members. Black mage: Thunder is added to the rotation and now you cast your spells in order. First fire, then thunder and then Ice. Upon casting all three spells you gain one elemental charge up to a max of 4. You can spend the charges at any time to be able to use the more advanced level of spells. (Spend 2 charges then fire, ice, thunder 2. 3 charges then fire, ice, thunder 3 etc etc etc.) Summoner: Art of War is NOT a gain on 2. Red Mage: Dualcast is now an ability that lasts for 15 seconds with 3 stacks and makes it so that every single-target spell be cast immediately after the last one. Pictomancer: Moogle of the ages now summons a painted moogle that follows the pictomancer around casting both heals and attack spells. However, it drains the pictomancer ink bar by 10 per second. Blue mage: Now has to be hit and survive the attack to learn the spell. However he learns it immediately. Did i ruin them enough? :)

DNC if you press an incorrect button during a Dance you Stumble and the cast is lost. NIN all Ninjutsu casts *except* TenChiJin require rooting. BLM Fire IV maintains Enochian, but the effect times out after 5 seconds. MNK base combo buttons are mapped onto a trio of VPR style flippy combo buttons. PCT uhh... Just extend the time to prep a Canvas "so that it actually matters".

I have a few cursed "ideas" for BLM, my favorite class: Reduce the cooldown period of Ley Lines, but using Polyglot stacks requires being in the lines. Enochian falls off if using Transpose with fewer than three Astral Fire/Umbral Ice stacks.

On the scholar one, back in Stormblood where I could still control Eos I had a macro where using physick would also have her use embrace on the target for stronger spot healing. I really liked that! ...but didn't realize I could make that happen until a short while before Shadowbringers came out and that option was gone. Felt bad...

Instead of blood whetting costing 50 beast gauge, what if your current beast gauge was like a timer for blood whetting? Blood whetting runs out when your beast gauge does and there is no stop early option. 100 gauge? You get the full BW time, but you've blown all your built up gauge. 30 gauge or less and you don't get a full GCD but your gauge is still spent.

RPR: Death's design only lasts 30 seconds. It cannot be refreshed while it is already applied. As a bonus, to ensure people learn to apply the debuff consistently, you could also make it so none of your attacks work at all unless the debuff is applied.

On some level i do want the GNB change as someone who plays that job a lot, having more varied cartridge uses sounds really fun... for about a second before everyone realizes this is just clemency again. However as a Sage main I'd honestly love to play with that Kardia change. I would NEVER want that to be a change for everyone, but trying that change out on my main for a week sounds like a lot of fun honestly.

Yeah indeed, the problem with the tanks losing damage for defense is it immediately becomes clemency. It could work if it is something that just is the way it is, like if all tanks have it like that. But it would still be problematic! Yeah the kardia change could possibly be a little more nice in a real scenario, where it jumps to players that actually are missing hp for instance 🤔😊

Bard: Codas can only be gained if the song finishes naturally (ending songs early does not grant coda) Screws up bards song rotation completely and makes you unable to get a 3 stack at the 2 minute mark (unless you don’t use finale in opener)

not very many cases but more a thing for some rare cases in high-end fights: you cannot click off inner strength anymore

Wow! It's so simple! 🤣 I've heard that the developers specifically do have a mild consideration for this, which is why it is so rare you have to click it off, but imagine if they stopped being nice about it on top of this! 😂

WHM: Freecure procs from Cure 1 are required to use any other healing GCD (including Lilies, of course).

Warrior: Raw Intuition/Bloodwhetting now heals similarly to high level Paladin's Holy Circle. As in: hitting AT LEAST one target with an AoE produces the healing effect, but it does NOT stack with multiple targets hit. So you would get a 400 cure potency heal only, no matter if there's only 1 mob or 9. "Hey guys, we've heard you like the 2 minute meta/job parity so much, how about we make tanks even more similar to each other? Also, this way Warrior won't be broken/called blue healer, and healers will actually have to engage with them during trash pulls!" - a random Square employee if they came up with this idea Also, I'm pretty sure this is the opposite of ruining the job, but... What if Paladin's Shield Bash was an oGCD... but with a 30 second cooldown? Think about it. Low blow: 5 second stun = 25 sec cooldown --> aka 5 sec of cooldown per 1 sec of stun time. Since Shield Bash stuns for 6 seconds, it's CD could be that much longer to compensate. To balance for Shield Bash being usable mid-combo, without interrupting the combo, it would no longer deal any damage, only stun. As a result, it would still be as useless as it is right now against raid bosses, but it could actually provide some surviving utility against dungeon trash mobs.

for machinist, give auto-crossbow the cooldown reduction for double check and checkmate... but remove it from heat blast

Summoner gets shadow flare back, but instead of setting it on the ground, it attaches to you so you need to stay in melee range

Since I have seen a lack of SAM ideas, here's the most awfully terrible one Higanbana is now 48s duration(same potency to keep it important) It no longer alligns with anything and you can now rage quit SAM EDIT: To make matters worse, I just realized that now it drifts and can land in the middle of a midare combo KEK
