48 Giga *bits* per second - not giga _bytes._ Same as for internet speeds: 25/50/100 Mega *bits* per second, etc. Hard drives & flash drives are typically designated as "32/64/500 Giga *byte,* etc.

It has the same "crisp dynamic HDR images" as any other HDMI cable. The only thing this does is give you extra lenght. As with all cables that transfer a digital signal, it either reaches its destsination or it doesn't. Your cable will NOT enhance your image. Ever. Also... shielding is not an issue with an OPTICAL cable. Do you even understand what this product is?
@TechLegend3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, Kai, Thanks for sharing your opinion. I see your point on the HDR images and shielding. However, no, it doesn't give only the extra length, it is also able to achieve 4K120Hz, VRR HDR, 4:4:4 10-bit with G-Sync enabled monitor with RTX 3090. Perfect for gaming. For 8k resolution, I couldn't verify it independently as I do not have an 8k display yet but the cable does says it can support 8k@60hz. So, yep, other cable cannot do such a thing as this HDMI 2.1 capable cable that can do. Also, it's always good to have some shielding as there is some case of interference. Wish you the best.

@@TechLegend Dig that hole a little deeper there, buddy. Every non-optical regular-ass copper HDMI cable that is rated for HDMI 2.1 does what this cable does. 4K120, 8K60. But they can only, officially, be 3m max. (Though I have unrated 5m cables that also do this, but you won't find them any longer.) This cable can go up to 100m. And that's the ONLY difference, because the cable is using light to transfer the info instead of electrons over copper. Hence why you don't need shielding. The cable is probably more brittle because of it, so maybe extra padding. But NOT shielding.

@@TechLegend I've got an RTX 3080 hooked up to a LG C1. And it's using a regular copper, so non-optical cable. And it's giving me 4K120Hz, G-Sync HDR, full 10-bit RGB. Only downside? You can't get those cables longer than 3m officially. There's plenty of unlicensed copper-based cables out there that can. Mine is 5m. That's about as long as you can go with copper and still get ALL those features. If you want something longer, you're going to have to plonk down the €100+ to get the OPTICAL cable you're reviewing here. And that can get you up to 100m, which is downright impossible for regular €15 copper cable. So yeah, the ONLY benefit of buying these very expensive cables is if you need to hook up a HDMI 2.1 device over more than 5m. 3 meters officially, but hey, YMMV, I got 4 identical cables from Amazon that do it for 5 meters, only 1 of those couldn't. And I'm sending that one back post haste to get it replaced. Once again, because it doesn't seem to stick for some reason, only buy the mega-expensive OPTICAL cables if you need them to be longer than 5 meters. Otherwise it's a WASTE OF MONEY! Glad these things exist though. I might just drop my PC in a closet on the other side of the room and get me one of these bad boys.

Unfortunately this particular HDMI cable ( quite expensive) even though it states on the box… fibre optic cable; still has copper wire included. When my fridge turns off… the audio return sound cuts right out. Wednesday pm 2nd October 2024. Southampton England 🏴

So if you reverse these and put them backwards they will not work. Don't ask me how I know. I thought it was like any other hdmi cable and ran it to where I needed it to go and no video. Looked on the end and saw where one was marked display and the other was marked source. Now I get to go back and do it all over again hahaha.

Crazy that the quality of hdmi cables used to not really matter and now they do. Pushing digital to the physical limitations now.

You say you tested the cable for 4K 120hz with your 3090 but in the video you’re playing red dead 2 4K 60hz? Why would you play on 60hz for the video and show 60hz if it can do 120hz?

This entire video is just tech buzzwords. Does it do what any other HDMI 2.1 cable does? Yes? Does it have a good signal quality at its length? Is it stupid expensive? Those are literally the only things that need to be discussed. Everything else about "dynamicHDRfluid4k120hzfibreoptic48gbit/s" is just a waste of breath. Every hdmi 2.1 cable does those things, it's the definition of hdmi 2.1.

These are NOT CERTIFIED CABLES... therefore NOT gaurenteed to work especially at long lengths above 5 metres

Hi Theo, You are technically correct, the 33FT fiber optic version is not officially 8k certified. However, I was able to achieve 4K120Hz, VRR HDR, 4:4:4 10-bit with G-Sync enabled on my monitor with RTX 3090. For 8k resolution, I couldn't verify it independently as I do not have an 8k display yet but the cable does says it can support 8k@60hz. So, yeah. Thanks for sharing.

@@TechLegend I don't think any HDMI "Fibre" cables are certified yet?.

@@comedykeith4592 Hello there, slight mistake, this cable are not officially certified, I think it is because due to the length of the cable. However, Ruipro offers 8K Certified HDMI 2.1 Cable that are 16.5ft, check here: amzn.to/2TUQWCt

@@TechLegend Yes aware of that, my point being no manufacturer of HDMI Fibre 10m+ has certification, yet this UHS (8k) HDMI "Fibre" cable type has been on the market for about 18mths, so question is WHY?
