Joshua was the kid Jennifer resembled and died before the game. As for the yuri elements in the game, it's mostly implied and barely noticeable. The game is remarkable, a definite recommendation for those who enjoy psychological and mystery games.

@arxikolinas18 Both are fairly different, although have some similarities. However, Demento/Haunting Ground was at one point intended to be a Clock Tower game, so that explains the, "Oh here's some villain chasing me, better run" thing. Rule of Rose is a bit of psychological horror - it really makes you think. Haunting Ground is a lot more blunt with what's supposed to be scary, and it's themes are often a LOT more sexual.

Rule of Rose was so weird... It's a game full of imagery. Like everything can mean something else so it's one of those games that makes you think. It's really Jennifer reliving the painfull things in her past and the monsters you fight in the game are out to keep her from remembering. I've been through the story a few times but I still get confused... It's not gory but its still damn creepy... Creepier than The Haunting in my opinion, needed more thought too.

Jennifer was in an aircraft accident and lost her memories. The game seems odd because Jennifer is recalling her memories from her time at the orphanage. Jennifer seems weak but it because during the events you see she was a child when they occurred, though you play 19 year old Jennifer.

@raingel12 There are two endings. I wouldn't call them bad and good, but cheap ending and real ending. SPOILER you get the cheap ending if you kill the last boss. You get the real ending if you give him the gun. END SPOILER

If you finish it w/out killing Stray Dog then it makes more sense. Give him the gun when he kneels and says "I'm sorry Joshua." on the last battle and you'll get a different ending.

Oh wow now THAT`s a fantastic and uniquè Horror Adventure :) Beautyful graphics. Already downloading the Iso from an emulator website. Let`s hope that my Laptop can handle one of the newer PS2 Emulators, the most actual high end games run fine with all settings to max and in high resolution - but my Laptop cannot handle these PlayStation Emulators for some reason, most of these emulated games run like Slow-Motion, almost unplayable. The Gamecube Emulator does not run at all, maybe 1 or 2 frames. And the PlayStation 4 does not play PS1 or PS2 titles anymore, so that kinda narrows it down.... to zero chance to play this Rule of the Rose game hmmmm.....
