The day Ali did become the greatest..He beat all the odds,yes he lost a few but in my eyes Muhammad Ali was simply the greatest.

Foreman beat Frazier at his best, no question about that, but got outsmarted by a past his prime Ali.

Frazier was at his absolute Best when he fought Ali. If he was as motivated fighting Foreman as he was fighting Ali, it might have had a different result

As hard as george hit the floor he should be glad that the ropes are loose and the floor are soft. However todays george is really a gentleman.

In my opinion, when you look at the fighters and judge them post their careers, George Foreman was the best. He only got knocked out the once but went on to beat fighters that Ali struggled against.
@porkfrog27856 жыл бұрын
Ali beat better opponents and won the title younger off of Foreman's mentor, the fearsome Sonny Liston
@derekrobbins67356 жыл бұрын
Pork Frog, they were both elite fighters but go back and watch how Foreman dealt brutally with both Joe Frazier and Ken Norton! Watch the identical fights with Ali, then come back here and tell me what you noticed??? IMO the GOAT has to be Foreman, but that's just my opinion!
@derekrobbins67356 жыл бұрын
I respect your opinion KarlosDeadloss but definitely don't share it! Here's why: 1. Foreman was beat fair and square in Zaire by Ali, but the circumstances leading up to the fight played as big a part as the fight itself. If ever there was a reason for a rematch, that was the fight. You have to ask yourself why Ali dodged a rematch and fought low risk fighters instead like Dunn, Wepner, Bugner, Coopman..... 2. Whilst it was wrong that Ali was robbed of 3 years of his prime, Joe Frazier had lent him money and petitioned for him to get his license back. Ali repaid him by calling him Uncle Tom and waged a war of words that resulted in Ali's passionate following to make death threats on Frazier and his family. That was unforgiveable and Frazier carried that hatred for Ali well into his senior years. Promoting the fight was one thing but when a supportive friend gets treated like that, it is many steps too far!!! Frazier wasn't the only fighter to receive that treatment! 3. That Zaire fight was the only fight where Foreman was beaten by KO, the other fights were by points decisions. Ali had backers who were very interested that Ali stay champ and Ali received some very favourable points wins during his fight career. There could well have been a few more losses if the truth be known. 4. I still 100% have the opinion that Foreman would have been champion in any era since then. His biggest blip was the Zaire fight. He beat convincingly fighters that Ali struggled to deal with, the reverse can't be said for Ali! Ali did a lot of good for human rights but equally George Foreman did a lot of good for disadvantaged youths with his George Foreman Foundation. For all of these reasons I have George Foreman as the GOAT.

why would a fight where one guy won 1 or 2 rounds and got KOed in 8 demand a rematch? a competitive fight calls for a rematch, not a pasting Foreman also lost to Jimmy Young, another boxer-type, before washing out with a nervous breakdown
@tonym9946 жыл бұрын
I don't think, talent wise he was a great fighter. achievement wise, he is a GLADIATOR. he came back at age 39 ish looking for Tyson's title ,and made no bones about it. instead, he settled for winning the linear title a second time 20 yrs.after he lost it to ALI. by KOing Micheal Moorer .nobody in any class ,has done that ,and likely never will.

Mayweather says he is better than Ali... Regardless they're both in my top 5 along with Henry Armstrong, Robinson and Pacquiao but Mayweather was born in to a boxing family and was thought tricks of the trade from the beginning and he also wasn't cheated out of years of his prime, you also don't have to worry about unnaturally heavy hitters that you wouldn't encounter outside the heavyweight division in the lower weight divisions Ali has the most impressive resume I've ever seen Archie Moore and Sonny Liston, were his best wins in the 60s while he was in his prime The competition had improved greatly by the 70s and the heavyweight division was likely the most impressive it had ever been, Ali beat every top contender he could and even faced the likes of Earnie Shavers who is up to par in terms of power with Wilder and Klitschko past his prime and beat everyone in his way Joe Frazier defeated him the first time accounting to Ali being out of shape due to ring rust Ken Norton defeated Ali the first time due to Ali suffering a broken jaw in the fight Spinks out boxed an old Ali Ali avenged all his defeats and he's undefeated in rematches His third fight with Norton should have been a draw at least though, he's the one fighter that had Alis number
