Thank you all for watching part one! What do you think we should do? Should we lift the bronco? Restore the bronco? Leave it as it is?

Man this brings back memories. Around 1991 I bought a '71 Bronco in faded red with a white top that had spent its life as a plow vehicle for a service station. I paid $1,500, way too much at the time given the terrible condition that it was in (plywood for a driver's side floor, no rockers, the driver's side sagged about 4 inches because the kick panel was rusted out, the front edge of the top was full of holes as was the windshield frame. Now that Broncos have exploded in value even with all the rust it had it would sell for $3k or more. I finally sold it around 1998 for $1,500 with a replacement roof, sills, floor and other parts, but still needing lots of work that I just didn't have the time or place to do.

Don’t do a full restoration, do a preservation. Get it fully detailed and operational. It’s a time capsule and an unmolested survivor. Just my opinion.

Glad that you're back. Get it running, then do a complete evaluation on it's state of deterioration and proceed from there. The Bronco is very *hot* right now and has intrinsic value so a restoration may be worth persuing.

This is proof that if we just venture out to see what is out there with an open mind , we may just find something that we may have once hoped for . Although I’m someone who’s interest is in the Jeep models , such as your CJ5 video , I still remember the Ford bronco . I appreciate this truck as I appreciate the Jeep . I do have an equal appreciation for the international harvester scout model 80 but I guess We will have to wait until the day you happen upon one in restorable condition . For now , wishing you luck on this solid looking truck and looking forward to future content .

Marvel Mystery Oil in the gas tank, (half a pint to a full tank) and some MMO down the cylinders when the plugs are removed would help out big time. Also some drops in the carb when starting a classic like that always helps.

Recommendations? After you put floorboards in,rebuild the engine,.bore 010 if you can, forged rods(might already have them),flat top pistons,chrome-moly rings, one of my heads(milled .060,hardened seats, oversized stainless steel valves, viton valve seals,Weber(or Holley)32/36 or Holley 350 cfm)268 cam,headers,dura-spark 2 electronic ignition.Or just turbo the thing. Just don't cut the rear fenders. It ruins them. And see that divider behind the seat? I was made to be the pickup version, not the station wagon. If you V-8 the thing, you'll have to replace the springs,it'll be nose-heavy and will never steer right.

I'd restore it. If the vin starts with u13 it is the roadster model only made in years 66-68, making it really rare especially in original condition. The panel behind the seat should have only been in the pickup and roadster versions. My dad has an early 66 roadster, he's the second owner. Still runs and is fun to drive around town.

Nice for 10K+/- it needs $25K to make it a driver. Engine swap (needs a V8), new body panels, weather stripping, paint, tires and wheels, instrument wiring, lights, door components, radiator, brakes, transmission, transfer case, steering components, suspension, seats and interior panels, dashboard etc. all adds up. But it will be worth $45K+ when done.
