Fun fact, Batman Year One and Justice League International were published in the same month as each other and that was the same Batman&universe. Pattinson can easily fit into the DCU, especially since Gunn wants to make sure DCU projects have a timeline similar to Star Wars. This helps these projects have their own distinct vibe/genre so Matt Reeves can still have his vision.

I’m just stating that all the comics that inspired Reeves’ Batman coexist with sci-fi & fantasy stories that take place at the same time. And those stories never impacted or ruined how we read Year One, Ego, Long Halloween, and Zero Year. Plus both of our opinions on the DCU timeline being like Star Wars are right because the Stg Rock movie is clearly a movie in the 40s and most events in Supergirl are gonna be way in the future. What makes a cinematic universe exciting is seeing franchises with very different tones crossover. That's what made the Avengers a box office hit. You could argue that Iron Man was pretty grounded before he met the team. And tbh rewatching the Batman definitely made me think that he could fit in the DCU. Tho I think it's best that Reeves continues to have creative control if they do integrate Battinson in the DCU. Whatever their decision (new Batman or Battinson) I'll be watching if it's good!

Not all comic book characters necessarily have enough depth to be main characters in their own standalone stories. Some stories work best when different comic book characters coexist and interact with each other in a shared universe. Captain America: Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War wouldn't work nearly as well if they didn't have access to other superheroes and characters in the MCU other than Captain America. Sometimes it gets too boring to watch stories of superheroes on their own in a grounded world without other major superheroes to crossover with and play off of.

I'm not the biggest fan of Robert Pattinson's Batman but if they continue to develop his character then I'm all for it. I mean all James Gunn really needs to do is make a 1:1 screen adaptation of the DC Animated Universe or just take those characters and add things from the comics that fans really like. As for the Batman I would like to see in the DCU, I would really like if he got the blue and grey, or even black navy blue suit (but with modern upgrades) since we have yet to see that version on screen. Making him a detective with a sense of humor and using more gadgets like he does in the DCAU would also be great.

Honestly, I'm game for it happening. Like, I've always felt that The Batman from before they even started filming Superman but it was announced, I felt that could be your first movie. And when you think of Batman as a character in the greater world of DC, yea, he's got some mystical villains and all, but in the grand scheme of things, he's always felt more grounded than others. So, tbh, I've always felt that they could make this Batman work in the DCU. Like, Mr. Freeze for example and doing like, cryo freezing stuff instead of like, freeze rays. Do some grounded but also do something like Poison Ivy who's on the more mystical side or Ra's al Ghul and with the Lazarus Pit.. They could have his Batman do both, some grounded and a different approach to a character. Like, that is different and could be cool to see. There's nothing wrong with that. But like, you could still try and make his movies feel grounded and do some stuff fantastical. The more I think about this, the more I like the idea lol.

Man of Steel back then was supposed to be its own thing until Warner Brothers wants DCEU to be a thing and you get Batman V Superman which is still a stupid name to me. I agree. The Batman was never intended to be part of a shared universe. It would be unfair to Matt reeves artistic vision to compromise it into the DCU. I get the appeal for DCU Pattinson, but it’s just easier to have two different Batman.

I think Robert Pattionson's Batman may seemingly fit better in a Justice League (team up) after The Batman 2. Keep in mind that in The Batman, he's still in his Lone Wolf era. The Batman 2 would be him turning from Vengeance into the symbol of Hope that Gotham needs. This would be when his character would better fit into a Justice League.

I heard a rumor that James Gunn said they weren’t going to continue with the universe is Superman bombed. My theory is that if it’s successful they will merge it into the DCU but if it fails they won’t touch it. Edit: it could be why the Batman 2 is taking forever and hasn’t even started filming, they could be waiting to see how Superman does

All they have to do is make a time jump after the batman part 3. This way Matt Reeves can do his trilogy without interruptions and we can get bat familly at the same time. With the universe already being diffrent from ours Reeves films can be set in the past or the rest of DCU in the future.

This is the way. The only way that makes sense. But still, Reeves seems to be doing his own thing and it would be unlike James Gunn to compromise Reeves vision to fit the DCU. Whatever happens I pray they let Reeves finish his trilogy first. Plus Reeves will still want control over his Batman moving forward his trilogy. I think if they did decide to go that direction, I think I good way to do it would be to have Batman taking down the more organized crime type villains only for the more bizarre and fantastical ones to start to takeover and overpower the typical gangsters and Batman. He begins to second guess himself more and begins thinking of the lessons he learned in the first film with not doing everything by himself and being open with others, so he might get a Robin and potentially reach out to Superman or some other characters. Batman is still in his early years, so there's plenty of time to develop his character and give him more of a comic accurate suit and cave. But I'm also totally okay with The Batman staying the way it is, as it's been super successful and has a lot of great potential.

The whole dynamic of Batman and Superman was always hard to mix together because of how opposite the characters are in terms of stories, moods, and tones but that’s what makes them such an iconic duo, so not bringing Pattinson’s Batman into the DCU because that universe is too grounded and serious makes no sense.
