Then after installing this module, I cannot start the image due to the lack of the license 'Eve Unlicensed (98). ' .Help me please!!!! When I executed the command #sudo apt install eve-ng-dockers and it changed my community edition to Professional edition. I don't have Professional license :( Now I need to roll back. You should have mentioned this on your thumbnail. Your thumbnail says "Run Docker Containers in EVE-NG | Why You NEED EVE-NG Pro" or maybe I misunderstood something

I follow your parameter but after the installation i got error unlicensed to my iol devices. even i do fixpermissions it wont go back. i need to reinstall to make my eve-ng operational. was there anything wrong. i am working on community edition. will it also work

Do you use your eve-ng vm as an ethernet bridge? I ran aqualys scan agains the EVE-NG in my computer using VMware workstation bridge mode. and I have found each vm is in there has either telnet or vnce open without authentication. I downloaded telnet apps in my android and connected directly to the EVE ng vnc and telnet cisco routers.

If you try to pull a eve-ng docker container in the community edition it will install the professional components and require your Eve install to be licensed (I did it without remembering that the docker support is only a pro-feature)

@@geisterkind1 in the end I just built a Ubuntu 22 .img (cloud image) with docker-ce and portainer web interface. The VM takes 80mb ram to run on boot. So I run it with 1cpu and 1gb ram. Then I can web manage docker containers. To run a Firefox browser in a container, it takes around 250mb ram if I remember rightly. I also tested watching KZbin videos with sound from the container through to my browser/vnc through my home network from eve-ng community and it uses about 450mb ram and was entirely watchable. This was very simple to do actually and the disk image size is just about 1gb with anything installed and still light.

@@tonyppeAnd there are pre-built Linux images available as well for Eve-NG. Wire shark already has wrapper also. So yes everything here is super cool, but you can also do all of this with community edition. Add proxmox bare metal and run eve-ng community on it, if you want ‘mad’ container ability.

Hey, old post I know but the terminal on the GUI server should be able to perform traceroute and ping. Also, the virtual pc image that comes with Eve can do these functions and it’s very lightweight.

Docker is cool... but you don´t need docker containers to get exactly the same amount of features you show here in community edition. Great videos! Is there a docker container with a ASDM up and running? Thats the most challenger VM that I have to build because of the java emulation and different ASDM version problems.

Honestly I wouldn't do this. Wireshark wrap already comes with Eve-Ng - no docker needed, not Eve-NG pro. I would run eve-ng community - ideally on a proxmox bare metel hypervisor. Now... Proxmox can run LXE containers all day long. If you need them. Most importantly you can run as many community instances of eve-ng as you like - with no _oops, i locked myself out of my own system by trying to license it._ How embarrassing.
