Can't agree more on the head torch, even though I have the V1. I used it every night trail run I did in 2024 and it was brilliant. I tend to only use wide beam at medium setting. That provides me with plenty of light personally. Can't agree on Harrier. They refused to ship to the EU for a long while. I understand the reason, but I can't take a gamble on a brand that wouldn't sell to customers in the EU for a significant duration. It has damaged my trust, which is all you have when you can only order gear online. From a gear perspective I think you can't really beat Leki's system with that little glove of theirs. It's just brilliant, and the pole is fantastic as well. I'm a bit surprised about the quiver. Does it actually work better than integrated pole carrying systems on different vests?
@Run4AdventureКүн бұрын
It’s a shame that Harrier don’t ship to the EU at the moment but being someone that posts items over to the EU I fully understand their decision. Since Brexit here in the UK it has been difficult to do so and there’s a lot of red tape now. I know Harrier would love to ship orders to the EU and I know they are working hard to do so. It seems a bit harsh to judge a company for something that is completely out of their hands? 🤔

How many spare batteries do you carry for the Fenix, the battery life is awful, I've spoken to them and it's the usual can't change settings etc, also it's uncomfortable on the forehead. Annoying to need to wear a headband etc otherwise it's almost unwearable. Literally tonight I done 2 loops of tamar lakes, fully charged battery on #2 setting, 6.2 miles in 50 mins and its used 2 out of the 4 power indicator lights.
@Run4Adventure2 күн бұрын
If I’m running a long race where I’m running through the night I’ll carry one spare battery Paul. I ran all the way through the night in the TDS and the SDW 100 on the medium setting and I didn’t need to change the battery once, are you sure your headtorch isn’t faulty? The battery life on my unit is really good, have you tried another battery? I’ve always worn a beanie or headband with a headtorch so I find it comfortable to run with 👍
@paulhouldenКүн бұрын
@@Run4Adventure@Run4Adventure Hi Loyd, it's a brand new headtorch, ie 2-3 weeks old, I ran from Hartland quay to bude and back the other night, on the way there I was mostly on setting 2 but admittedly I cycled through on the dodgy bits, got to near the satellites at duckpool and only setting 1 was available, I got to my turnaround point at 10 miles, headed back and about 0.5 miles the battery died, so I got a spare out, which had never been used and was fully charged, I kept it on setting 2 the whole way back, and I got back with 2 lights on the power indicator. 2 hours 15 to bude, 2 hours 35 back (I was dead ha), my girlfriend has the same model aswell, so I may try hers at some point just incase mine could be faulty, but it's probably not. I'm doing the ARC 25 and probably won't need a headtorch at all but if i was doing the 100 I'd definitely be worried about it 😢
@Run4AdventureКүн бұрын
@@paulhoulden That’s definitely not right Paul! I’d plug the torch in to charge it up and leave it plugged in as long as you can, don’t unplug it straight away when the blue lights tell you it’s fully charged. I’d then use it again on the medium setting and see how long it lasts. If it runs down quickly again I’d get in touch with Fenix 👍
@paulhoulden22 сағат бұрын
@Run4Adventure appreciate that Loyd thanks, I've had a few back and forth emails already, the chap I'm speaking to is very helpful too, all the best mate! If I see you around I'll introduce myself probably as Paul the headtorch guy or something!

@@paulhoulden No worries Paul, hope you get it sorted 👍🙂
