I was there in the pit. It is was freakin' awesome. Some girl behind me was calling out for "Jane Says" the entire set and it was not going to happen. They ain't going to breakout the acoustic honey. I was banking on "Three Days" and here it was. Then Ice Tea joined them on stage and they did "Don't Call Me "*^%$^&" Ice Tea then jumped off the stage into the pit and he and I were staring each other face to face with our noses about four inches apart. It was one of those WTF is this really happening moments. Oh the good ole days.

It was actually Perry joining Ice T & Body Count during their daytime performance on the main stage for that cover of the Sly Stone song. Hard to imagine much of a pit getting traction at that venue. Since the GA is behind the seated area, up in the grass. On a steep slope. You can barely stand up there. There’s that puny little rail to a steep drop off. Ice T would’ve been jumping into an area of empty concrete, in front of the first row. There was no one in front of the stage.

There's...no pit at Shoreline. And they played "Jane Says" near the end - might have been the encore. Maybe you were thinking of a different show at a different venue? I remember the "Don't Call Me..." bit at Shoreline (during the Ice T set, as @el stinko mentions below) but they might have been doing that at multiple venues, which would explain your memory of a pit.

Was at this show. Siouxsie and the Banshees were on right before Jane's and she was fantastic. So was NIN ! Kids out there, the 90's were great. I am sorry you missed it.

I'm in Vancouver BC, and a waitress at a restaurant I cooked at asked if I wanted to go see Lollapalooza '91 with her in Seattle, but I couldn't get anyone to switch shifts with me. To this day I am still kicking myself. Lolla didn't come to Vancouver that year, but I definitely went in '92, then again in '93. '92 changed my f'ng life! I was a metalhead, and that lineup was f'ng amazing! But I still wish I saw '91.

Perry in 91 looks just like an ex of mine.. You can't imagine how many times, we got approached, asking for his autograph...lol... The hilarious part was, when they'd look at me, they would get this super, confused, look (you're not Casey) and he and I would crack up laughing. Casey, if you ever read this, We Love You here in Boston!! ❤

@@tosh5376 so this may be more interesting to me because it was my mom and not yours lollll but I was shocked when she told me nonetheless....anyway about 5 years ago my mother who is my secretary at work passed my office while I was in a discussion with my business partner whom I have known since elementary school. We always talk about people we went to high school with ( in a sentimental way) . .a girl we went to high school with used to follow Jane's around the country and was in love with perry. My mom overheard us and said " I used to babysit him when he was a little boy"...huh????....yes the singer for Jane's addiction grew up two apartments down from me in queens and I would babysit him. He was the cutest baby."....so my mom who in my 43 years never 1)talked shit 2)lied to make herself look better to others ) obviously never heard me talk about Jane's addiction....I had to check the info even though it was my mom and it all checked out....anyway for someone who likes Jane's alot I thought it was pretty cool . She told me about his family and his childhood and that last she heard he went to Calif.....which is obviously when he formed the band..
@michaelfrazia45695 жыл бұрын
She also kept referring to his family as the Bernsteins which is his real last name.....

So my brother and dad was at the opening show in Phoenix. The one where Trent Reznor walked off the stage because it was too hot.
@runawayuniverse5 жыл бұрын
Having once been a resident of Phoenix, I don't blame Trent one bit for not wanting to play a show in that heat. That was also the same show that Perry and Dave got into a fight onstage.
@TheDas95825 жыл бұрын
runawayuniverse I understand not wanting to play in the heat but people paid to see NIN play live. Pretty unprofessional. Same with Dave not wanting to go on stage because he was feeling sick. Perry was right to make him get on stage and perform.

I still hold out hope, however small, that Jane's can go into the studio and rip off a facemelting record. Come on guys, only you can save things.
@runawayuniverse5 жыл бұрын
The only faces that are going to melt would be Perry and his wife with all that horrible plastic surgery they have had done.
