I really love when games include a small manual. I remember there being some with ds/3ds games. It's really immersive and gets me excited to have a little booklet that I can keep as a collectable. I got the premium edition of pioneers of olive town and it has a small booklet that tells you about the town. I like physical copies of games already but when they include a book, it's a bonus. I find myself a bit disappointed when games like pokemon no longer include anything inside the case. I only ordered the regular copy of rf5 but im curious if it will have a little booklet inside the regular copy? Can't wait for my game to arrive today 🥳 are you doing a playthrough? I actually picked this game up without knowing too much about the series - other than it being published by the Harvest Moon people and it being a life sim/action rpg hybrid - after seeing it being advertised on my Switch Welcome Screen. So far I am loving just how cute this game is. I also love the Voice actor's commentary tracks that add extra flavor to the game.

Fun fact: The EU collector of RF5 comes with both the steelbook and the regular box but no manuals :( And some retailers had a wooly keychain preorder bonus!

My European limited edition was different. it has similiar box that rune factory 4 had and it was missing that booklet in the steelcase, everything else is the same.

You'll be in for a real treat. Also, expect "jokes" about the MC having amnesia. It's not a laughing matter, but with the exception of two games (Frontier and Oceans/Tides of Destiny), all MCs have amnesia so the player can learn and explore along with the MC.

I personally hate the fact that the cartidge case doesn't look like an actual Switch game case. I find it really distracting and like you said, it will not look as good on my shelf or even next to the rest of Rune Factory games on my collection. The rest looks great though.

I've never played Rune Factory. I've always seen people hype about it, and it's starting to reel me in. Can somebody please tell me a bit about this game and what we do in it?? This also says Rune Factory 5, so does it mean it's like a continuous story, like a series of movie of sorts?

Every numbered Rune factory game is its own story. References to previous games but that’s about it. It’s a cross between action rpg, farming, and social simulation. There’s a ton of content and theoretically the game never ends as you have plenty of festivals, friendships/relationships, and battles to take part it. The more your city and farm grows the more there is to do and see!
