With my race schedule totally altered for this spring, I decided to start running at least 1 mile a day for the foreseeable future - just to see how long I can keep it up. I'm only on day 4 (started April 1), but I'm loving it so far! Congrats on 100!

That is awesome Meredith!! The first couple weeks are the hardest, then it becomes routine and a lot easier. Keep it up!!!

This was so inspiring. Thanks, Ryan. Getting outside now and doing that run, and definitely confirms my treadmill purchase was a good idea.

Thanks for letting me know!! And yes, that treadmill purchase was a great idea you had!! Have a good run!

Awesome! I’m very proud of you. Keep pushing and inspiring us! In my opinion, I am not sure if I would do it because I have always followed and understood that on workout days, you are creating a stimulus and breakdown of the muscles. The recovery day(s) are meant for muscle repair and that’s how we strengthen our muscles. But I see that you went very easy on recovery days to do just that. In my case, as 39 years old, I need more repair time. 😅
@RyanClaytonFilms4 жыл бұрын
Yeah you are definitely breaking down your muscles, but the body adapts to what you are doing. If you teach it to recover in 24 hours, it can. There was a great podcast episode from "Science of Ultra" that really encouraged me here. Basically, a rest day can be running easy if you run easy enough. If what you're doing works for you, keep going, that's awesome!! 👏

I really appreciate this video. I made a goal recently for myself to run daily during the shelter in place. I’m 2 full weeks in and I’ve noticed a few days of feeling like lead. Thanks for the motivation to keep pushing (smartly of course). Who knows this shelter in place may end with me also running 100 days in a row 🤷🏽♀️. Thanks again Ryan!

That’s awesome Kelly!!! The first couple weeks are definitely the hardest. My legs started to come around though and I’m happy I stuck with it! Good luck to you, 100 days will be here before you know it! Hopefully we’ll be out of quarantine before I then!

Down here in Tasmania, Oz we still have a few trails open on city council land. Nothing too gnarly or remote but we're appreciating anything and everything atm and even with winter approaching i'm encouraged by your video to run daily instead of my normal alternating rhythm.

@RyanClaytonFilms4 жыл бұрын
Thanks dude! No idea why CJ is not saying anything, I bet HR will give it another 2 weeks at least, but we’ll see. 🤷♂️ At this point CJ is basically not possible in my mind and even if they do it, I don’t know if I’d go. Gotta be safe and smart! Good luck to you bud!

Whoa, 5:02. I would have been flying into that farm field. I'm going to give running every day a start, allowing credit for anything at least three miles, regardless of pace. I'll report back in a week. Excellent suggestion and interesting challenge, of very different effort/time profile.

Thanks Paul! And no it's not just you, the chest cam was terrible for running. I'll probably never use it again unless I'm just hiking or walking. Stay safe and healthy yourself too, thanks!
