The BMW is running OK now but it is running too hot in traffic. I have to fix that to make this BMW 733I run well.

Hi Great video . Very helpful.. overheating is a big concern with bmw e23 7 series. . Besides the electric fan and radiator. Replacing the hi temp switch with the low and the quick flush of the gunk in the hose connected to the coolant reservoir. Were there an other parts replaced or task preformed that I've failed to mention? Very Heful info Thank You Louis

Honestly replacing to a lower temp thermostat really helped.

That is sludge. Produced by a lot of cold starts and short distances. Water and engine didn't get hot enough during it's lifetime. Idle: could be the throttle position switch (Check with resistance/ Ohm meter). CPU doesn't get the info about idling. And clean your ICV (Idle controle valve). You can use some carburettor cleaner for that valve. 3e is O2 sensor in the exhaust.

TPS has been tested. Icv is new.

Hey ! I had some issue on my e23. M30b28. I had overheat when car not moving , slowly it’s going to a red line. So with what I will need to start ? Replace all cooling system ? Kind regards and hello from Latvia !

Hello. I found that replacing the radiator and going to a 165 degree thermostat did the trick.
