air new zealand cancelled the route from london to auckland (via los angeles) it was due to stop last month,so with covid stopped much earlier. The premium economy was fantastic I think they are rated number one premium economy in the world.

I was surprised to see this post was only a few days ago as it all looked very dated within the plane. Must ask though, what use is the Skycouch when someone else is occupying the adjacent seats? I did the Air New Zealand 'round the world' route when I went with a friend to watch two test matches there. Outbound from London was via Hong Kong and inbound from Auckland was via LAX. Good airline. We went Premium Economy. on a good price.

Just curious to know why Air New Zealand shut down that route? I presume that they were having a tough time in the European market because of the intense competition from Asian and the Middle Eastern airlines which tend to offer not only lower prices from NZ to the UK/Europe, but mainly because those airlines have more convenient layovers in their hubs which seemed to attract more passengers than Air New Zealand having a transit stop in LAX which was inconvenient since the passengers were required visas even in transit, and the fact that direct flights on ANZ tend to be pricer than that of one-stop airlines.

You said you can "access these three terminals" from Heathrow Terminal 1, 2, and 3 Station. An easy mistake to make due to the signage, but Terminal one was closed in 2015 and, except for a few gates that were built to be used as part of Terminal 2, was torn down and the site is being used to expand Terminal 2. Terminal 3 has been closed since April due to flight reductions from Covid, so right now only Terminal 2 (and Terminal 5 - Terminal 4 is also closed - but that is, of course, a different station) is open. There has only been about a year in the last decade that all three terminals were running. The old Terminal 2 (and the Queens Buiding) was torn down in 2010 and the new Terminal 2 was opened in 2014. Then Terminal 1 was closed in 2015, so for nine of the last ten years, only two (or now, one) of the three were open at the same time.
