This song needs to be in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Perfection.

One of the most beautiful songs ever written about a most horrible subject. Stunning song.
@philiplyndhurst23267 жыл бұрын
It's vital to confront horrible subjects with beauty. The contrast makes the protest more powerful. Also the most dreadful injustices sometimes only come to our attention because of a moving and thought provoking lyric.

Probably isn't a better way to cast the voice of an innocent, defenseless girl. Who doesn't get to speak for herself while her innocence still lasts.

I realize that we're just about the same age (I'm a month from being 63, and since you wrote this eight ears ago, you're either 61 or 62 now, so I can totally relate. This song remains in my Top 10 Songs of All Time list, where it's been since the song first came out. It's perfection.

Classic lyrics, amazing melody. Her dynamics are subtle even within the same small phrase. And she just gets more beautiful.

As we realize the meaning of this song's lylics in advance, such purely acoustic performance gives us much deeper impact. It's really really impressed one for me !!

No-one could've followed that up if they were going to do a heartfelt ballad or something. Vega's unbeatable in that field. Loudon's style is so different, though, that there wouldn't be a problem.

Stunningly naked. It matters not, full production or stripped down the writing and delivery have the same effect.
@tadsy11 жыл бұрын
Yes and No, and I know what you mean ,(I play music well enough to comment......) however, if you look in her (Suzanne's) eyes, when Loudon is playing 'House' the same night, she shows the respect of a fellow artist, Suzanne joins in the chorus, supports and shares the piece of art. If you listen to his words later that night, he states clearly that he was very pleased to play beside her, as I think I would. The best thing about music is the sharing and the learning, after all said and done.
