It’s the editing. They only show us a few takes, they take the best footage and fit it into the narrative of the week. Kylie was told to turn it up. She chose the most complex character, Fiona Goode/ Jessica Lange. She had all of the qualities that Jessica has that made her legendary especially playing Fiona Goode. She just had trouble realizing it. I’ll admit Sonique was not my favorite season 2, but I will give her being talented, with quick wit, and funny sometimes. Jessica played that role serious and managed to make it so much more including humor. I wanted to see a reenactment of the Great Swamp witch Misty Day performing vitalum vitalis on Madison Madison is twirling around in Fiona’s dress in her room when she walks in “Surprise Bitch” 😂😂😂😂😂, I think that was the best line from her for me.

Anyone else curious what the heck the producers plans are for Pandora??? They havent really given her much screen time at all & shes not doing BADLY but i also cant see her being top 4?? Can we talk about these misplaced challenges so far. Why when we have a season full of dancers/performers they wait till we’re halfway through the season to give us a dancing/girl groups challenge? But in other seasons w/look queens and models we get all the performance challenges. The Super Bowl Rusical was fun but we need more. This season we have the girls for a girl group challenge such as Silky, Kylie, Jiggly, Akeria, Rajah, Yara, Jan, and Trinity who all will perform DOWN. But instead we get RuAmerican Horror Story, Pink Table Talk, and commercials. I don’t mind having those but can we get those later in the season. I need some nasty 8 and 16 counts!

Idk how to explain it, but I felt like Manila already wasn't going to give a *show* like we've already seen. AND WHEN IS THIS TWIST COMING INTO PLAY?! It's practically way too late to even pretend that the queens have a chance to come back in the competition. They missed way too many fundamental challenges to redeem theirselves with a lipsync alone or whatever they have planned 🤧

Spoiler vids have told me what the twist is - so it would make sense, given the numbers, that they finally explain it once a fair amount of queens have been eliminated. As far as the lip syncs production plays w/the song selection to manipulate who goes home based on the top performer’s abilities. I think Kylie got better with the coaching (though I agree it was pretty unfair to the others to have gotten so much help) but I thought her performance was safe at best, and absolutely not a winner--should have been Ginger, Jan, or Pandora. I am so sorry to see A'keria go, but she was psyched out before she began. Rajah did not deserve to be in the bottom, even though her lisp faded in and out, the voice was funny, and her performance overall was good. I'm happy for Kylie, and I love that she's there and gorgeous, but she leans too much on body and sex, and seems to struggle with any performances that don't play to those strengths. I would be surprised if she gets any further wins.

I think because I'm not an American Horror Story fanatic, I didn't quite understand most of the references, so it was really fun to see you geek out and kind of explain everything cuz I certainly needed it. I agreed with all the placements including Kylie's win. I just felt like, narratively, it made the most sense for Kylie to win because to me it just didn't feel like Jan or Ginger's time yet for a 2nd win. But I mainly want to speak on the runway, cuz I LOVE this category, as it definitely falls aesthetically sometimes into my own art. As much as I loved that a lot of the girls went for the more dramatic Victorian Goth (my personal favorite), I wish there was more variety in showing different subgenres of goth fashion, such as Gothic Lolita or more Punk fashion. But overall everyone did well, except for Ra'jah, A'keria and Eureka(the weakest), they all needed MORE in my opinion. For instance, A'keria's runway for me felt VERY top-heavy due to the headpiece, so I wish her skirt was bigger to balance the silhouette out.

This was a meh episode for me. The challenge had a lot of dead air - I think maybe the queens weren't punching up their lines enough to be funny...? I think it also dragged a bit because there was only one set piece - there was no furniture and they were all just straight-up standing there, equidistant from one another, taking turns talking to the camera for tooooo long. lol. Pandora, Ginger and Jan did the best job, and I would have given it to Pandora!! The only time I giggled out loud was when she came back in as Joan Crawford and they did the hangers thing! Kylie absolutely nailed Jessica Lang's look, but her energy/delivery of her lines was still a little off, for me. Not enough levels. Akeria....yikes. It was hard to watch, but I also feel like Michelle & Ross weren't really telling Akeria what they wanted her to sound like (in the past, they have definitely given the queens a bit more help by actually saying the line the way they wanted the queen to say it, so she could hear the inflections, etc.). Ginger's half-done make-up in the workroom really hit me - gorgeous!!! Not to mention that she looked sooo pretty and snatched as hell in the challenge, okay?? Yes!! The runway was a little underwhelming, for me. I think I was disappointed that no one brought a look like I think Adore would have brought - like a modern, high school grunge-goth. And this headband thing for Ru ruins the illusion, for me - the way it stretches back into her hair makes her head look like it is about 4ft deep, lol. Something about it... But TKB?? Oh yes!!! Rajah? Oh yes!!! I would be interested to see Rajah's shoes, though - something down there was looking a bit baggy in the pant and I wasn't sure what was happening there - at first glace it almost gave me Monet's original sponge-foot situation, lol. I think Jan's look was actually the best tonight. She completed the assignment!! Pandora completed the assignment as well, but it probably looks better in person than it did on screen. The dark colours all just blended too much and we couldn't see the details. Akeria's neckline was giving me Chi Chi's white paper dress look from S8, and it made me smile. That lipsync....I feel like Manila was underused!!! Loved seeing her, but that song was obviously chosen for Kylie (and she did not disappoint). When she came out in that yellow top, no one else was looking ANYWHERE else but that chest for the entirety, lol. Blonde wigs hierarchy = Brooke Lynn Hytes, Kylie, Ginger in the challenge, and then.....wait four hours.........Jan as Gaga. lol. Sorry bout it! Know who would have been better? Switch Manila with Brooke and those would have made for equally interesting face-offs!!

Possible Acting Challenges: Days of Our Lives, aka "Drags of Our Lives", OR All My Children, aka "All Ru's Children" : honestly, tons of material here in the way of soaps: ridicuous, over-the-top drama and overacting. They did a spoof of a telenovela, so why not this? Good for a large group of queens in a regular season challenge. *Scandal, aka "Scandalous"*: copious amounts of camera snaps in between scenes - and lots of fast walking and talking down hallways in the white house, so the girls have to learn a lot of dialogue super quickly and spit it out as fast as they can ...steamy makeout scenes with men who are not Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, etc. Game of Thrones, aka "Game of Hoes" : I mean......get this done, yesterday!! It doesn't have to be all set pieces and stuff - just give us a basic castle setting and some swords/ridiculous dragon props and we're good! Again, great for a large cast. Breaking Bad, aka "Breaking Bad & Bougie" (and then Better Call Saul/ Betta Call RuPaul for the shequel the following season) : possibly not a great idea because drugs, but they could make something else in the lab - like the perfect blue eyeshadow (does this exist? lol). And then the shequel is a grimy lawyer breaking into people's offices for evidence in a big case. Better for a smaller group of queens. Walter White = Betty Black (why it gotta be black?), Jesse Pinkman = Jessica Pinkeye...come on! *Dawson's Creek (maybe for Canada?), aka "Dawson's Clique"*: better for a small group of queens, like top 6 or 7. But Canada could really do this one well because of the setting and the teenage angst/love triangles/school settings of it all. Kind of like 9021-Ho. Also good: Saved By the Bell, aka Slayed by the Bell/Ball. *Family Matters, aka "Drag Family Matters"*: Someone could kill as Erkel!! And a ridiculous transformation chamber that makes a queen go from busted to beautiful (could be played by two different queens, even)...??? Hello!! Here for it! Also has a decent amount of roles for people to take on. *Full House, aka Fill My House"*, in honour of Jujubee: 3 queens raise 3 daughters (cue jokes about Lori Loughlin), Bob Saget-esque character being sweater-vesty and always having sappy and sincere moments with the girls in their room when they mess up and crash a car into the house or whatever. 3 blonde wigs for the sisters and the weird twin situation with Mary Kate and Ashley....a ventriloquist character with a dummy (Uncle Joey =Aunt Joanie)....I mean....!! Buffy the Vampire Slayer, aka "Muffy the Glampire Slayer" : Very here for this as well! RuMerican Horror Story done RIGHT. Platinum blonde vampire characters, lesbian witch couple casting spells, nerdy/bookish queen advising Muffy and her friends, etc. Much more room for comedy!

Dammit, my top 3 is now down a queen. I love A'keria, I wanted better for her this season. I kinda hate the acting challenges, they're always so cheesy and rarely make sense but no lie, I thought for sure Ginger or even Pandora would have won this one but I'm glad Kylie got it bc that lipsync song was just for her. Jan also did well being herself.

Hey Matty! Would you consider reacting/reviewing Young Royals on Netflix? It's a very special series, only six episodes of 45 mins each, and it's about a young Prince who falls in love with a school friend and it's very, very gay in a cute, authentic way that honestly I haven't seen much of before. If you do, I'd recommend watching it in the original language + English subtitles, if not an English dubbed version is also available. I can't tell you enough how many emotions this show put me through!

I think the rehearsals were bad & that's why they were frustrated. They give the critique over & over again & the girls do the same thing. The overall thing could've been MUCH better. It was just moments put together. Ginger or Jan should've win but more Ginger cuz she was goooood.

Incoming rant in 3…2… I don’t think the judges should be directors period. None of them are actors, and their only experience “directing” is literally Drag Race. And call me a conspiracy theorist, but every challenge is basically the same: highlight one queen on the struggle bus = she pulls it out and wins; blatantly critique another queen (or two) = in the bottom. It’s all so overly produced at this point, and it’s like they’re not even trying anymore. Here’s a thought…bring in former queens who are comedic and excel in acting challenges. They can provide objective critiques and then the judging won’t be so biased.

First let me say, the lip sync was almost evverything! 👏 love 2 see manila luzon. Could watch KSL do her moves, all day. Altho, she ended with the same split. She started with lol! Yk when Matty doesn’t like an episode. He tells you, he didn’t like it. This was my least favorite ep. The acting challenge was so boring, so long! Ginger did do the best/fun. Kylie Sonique did better at the end… 🤫with her personal act coach. Still 🤷🏾‍♂️mah! I was not moved or entertained. The runway was gothic. AkA all black… after the hard on all black in the challenge. How dreadful 🙇🏾‍♂️🥲 mostly every one looked good. Yet, nothing super special. Ra’jah O’Hara won best dressed. Yet, I’m over the pants from here. I just feel so behind the scenes, with drag race now! As a lil boy… I thought this shit was magic bye by for me, for now
